Visit the beautiful Loop Harrison Mansion, General Store, one-room schoolhouse, Banner Cabin, our historic church and train depot, the hearse shed that houses our antique wooden hearse, and more. Wildlife and nature abound. Our peaceful and private grounds will be your camping oasis. Within walking distance of beautiful Lake Huron with its beaches and marina and parks, plus the Port Sanilac Lighthouse (tours available on summer Fridays), and several bars and restaurants. Check out our Farmers' Market on Fridays and catch a live play at the 150-year-old Barn Theatre. Take a guided tour of the beautiful Loop-Harrison Mansion, built in 1872. Enjoy a live performance at the Barn Theatre on Friday and Saturday evenings. Take a unique tour of Port Sanilac in our 1917, open-air Model T or horse and carriage. We are located within walking distance of beautiful Lake Huron, including a lakeside park, beach, harbor, and break wall. Shared kayaks, paddle boards, canoe and row boat are included during your stay. We're sorry, but outside such items are NOT permitted in order to minimize the risk of zebra mussel exposure, etc. Life jackets in multiple sizes are on hand as well. But, you are welcome to bring your own. Fishing is allowed if not by the ducks or geese. No additional hunting of any kind is allowed. Electrical outlets are available to charge phones in an outbuilding if needed. We have two porta potties and a hose shower. We recommend it although not highly. Kind of a cool setting if you’re into old timey museum type places. It’s great for a quick stopover point. Location was nice, we were the only people there (late season trip) so it was very quiet. Port Sanilac is a great little town.

My husband and son spent a weekend at Jac's bunkhouse and absolutely loved it. The beach is less than a minute's walk and the area is beautiful. They enjoyed making fire and grilling some steaks on the provided fire pit and Webber. Bed was soft as a cloud and the house was neat and clean with everything they needed. They loved it and I might have to head that way to experience it for myself.

This was my first Hipcamp experience. Our host was great. They were very responsive and helpful and very accommodating when we got there. They filled tiki torches, delivered firewood, and we had some laughs before we started to set up camp. The site was clean and the property is beautiful. We pet the goat, and the turkey laughed at us. There are outdoor showers (heated) a short walk up the trail. There is a cool trail that loops around the property. The train, as mentioned by others, did wake me up a couple times. I'll definitely be back at this site but I'm a light sleeper and will just bring my loops/ear plugs. Sleeping in may also be tough considering the rooster. I usually sleep in on weekends but we were excited to wake up and get the fire going again. There are portable toilets which are way better than up against a tree. The location is great coming from metro area - Oxford Grill is a nice stop on the way in or out and Bald Mountain recreation area/shooting range. Surprisingly low amount of mosquitoes/bugs while we were there.

Quiet, nearest neighbor was 80 yards away. This is like a miniature greenfield village. It is clean and well kept, with fun little walking trails to explore. For an additional fee you can have a guided tour of the historic buildings onsite. I had a wonderful time!

Wonderful venue!! We didn’t realize until we arrived, this is not a “campground“ but a historical village, and you camp on their grounds. The only negative would be that there’s no shower, but that was not a big deal. We went to a play at The Barn Theater onsite - perfect for us theater folk! We were tempted to leave a bad review so we could have the place to ourselves, but that wouldn’t be fair!! Quiet, beautiful, lots of things to do in the area - what’s not to love?!!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this adorable little cabin in Lexington over Labor Day weekend, and it was absolutely perfect! The cabin itself was so cozy and charming, with all the little details that made it feel welcoming and comfortable. We loved the beach access and beautiful views—it was the perfect spot to relax and take in the peaceful surroundings. It truly felt like a hidden gem, and we couldn’t have asked for a better getaway. The cabin was a perfect size for the 2 of us and the outdoor area is awesome to hang out and have a fire. So close to “downtown” Lexington with plenty of things to do and see. My partner and I stayed at Jac's Bunkhouse for a long weekend and had a wonderful stay! Becca was a gracious host and made sure we had everything we needed, allowing us privacy but assuring us she was always available nearby. The property was super cute and cozy, a very small indoor space (bedroom, bathroom, and enclosed patio with a little dining area) but definitely enough for two people. The views in the yard were serene, and the beach was about a minute's walk away. While the place wasn't equipped with a stovetop or oven, it did have a microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker, and there were plenty of dining options available in town, just a few minutes away. Overall, I'd recommend the Bunkhouse to any solo/duo travelers looking for a peaceful place to relax and get away on the water.

Jac’s bunkhouse was charming and welcoming as soon as you step into the home. You’ve got all the essentials, a microwave, coffee maker, mini fridge, even a charcoal grill and fire pit outside. It’s a cozy private nook surrounded by trees; just steps away from a swim in the lake or a walk along the beach. Walkable to town, with so many options around. Becca was very generous, showed me around, and even fed me a home cooked meal! One of the best hosts I’ve encountered, she also goes above and beyond to make her guests feel more than welcome, and you can feel the love she puts into this little home as soon as you step inside. I would come back here in a heartbeat!

Had a fantastic couple of nights at Thousand Suns with some friends and our kids. Was our daughter’s first camping experience and it was the best location for us! Between the amenities provided and activities on site we had a blast. Jordan (who greeted us and replenished our firewood) was super friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend booking a camping trip here and look forward to returning.
