You can rent the whole campground for a day a night, a weekend, or a whole week if that suits your need. Just send us a message and we can talk about it. Our primary guideline is that if your event will be held while other campers are here, it cannot disturb them. So, consider renting the whole campground. Overview: Our beautiful 10 acre farm and homestead is situated between Ann Arbor and Dexter not far from the Huron River. The 5 acre area where our campsites are located is wooded with mature oak, maple, walnut, elm, and white pine trees. We're isolated and surrounded by wild areas and natural farm land but just a 10 minute drive to restaurants, groceries, fuel, and other amenities. The Ann Arbor area is home to a huge array of world class events from the Ark music venue to National Champions Michigan home football games and a whole lot more. Downtown Ann Arbor or Dexter or Chelsea is only a 15 minute car drive. White Lotus Farms, which has a wonderful farm market on Saturdays from 9 - 2 and Wednesdays from 9 - 1, is a 10 minute walk down our dirt road. If you forget to bring something that you need, don't hesitate to ask! We've got a growing number of camping essentials for rent or sale for very reasonable prices that can make your stay even more enjoyable: from bug repellants to camp chairs, potable water in 2.5 - 5 gallon containers, and more. NEW IN 2025 we have installed a hose with potable water near the entrance to the campground for your convenience.

There is firewood available for purchase at each site. **If you bring your own wood please take any unburned logs with you when you leave** While the farm is sprawling, there are multiple houses across the property so stay on established trails only and keep your noise levels down. Weekend Trip to Tom and Julie's Place

I'm an experienced camper, due to motorcycling and whitewater kayaking. Have camped in Alaska, Colorado, bottom of Grand Canyon for 6 weeks. . This was my first time using Hipcamp, so I was unsure what to expect. Local state recreation areas were closed, so I gave this a try. . The camping area was exactly as described in words and photos. We had a walk-in tent site, so we parked at a marked parking spot. Then carried our gear another 500' across a tiny stream and up a hill. . It was a 2-night stay with my 4yo daughter on a father-daughter leaf-peeping motorcycle trip out of Detroit. She has also camped many times / places before, and I wanted her to have an adventure close to home. . Tom & Julie's place was perfect for us. It was about 3 miles east of Pinckney, so we had restaurants. The area is rural, and beautiful in the fall. The road to Tom & Julie's was smooth dirt for 2 miles. Then is was maybe 1/8 mile from their mailbox to the campsite. . The campsite was in a small clearing in the woods. Rarely did modern man-made noise intrude on the natural sounds. There was a fire-ring in the clearing, a couple cut logs to sit on. Firewood was available for a small fee. But there was plenty of dead wood around, for kindling or a small fire. So we enjoyed a small fire and did not purchase additional wood. . It was just our luck there was a pumpkin farm nearby. My daughter loved the hay rides, corn maze, etc. . The experience very positive, and I'd use Hipcamp again.

Perfect spot to have some privacy and feel safe. Camping on grass and some level ground is really nice as opposed to a beet down Public camp ground. I sat and talked with owner Tom, great guy. They call people like this good folk. Real good site too solid ground, lots of geese and cranes went by multiple times. Loved the stay here. We tested out a new air tent here had several nice fires and ate few really good steaks our last night. I almost hate post up here about this little gem in fear of others finding out about this gem. Oh did I mention how Responsive and respectful Julie was in returning information and questions getting answered.

I hammock camped in a beautiful site next to the pond. Compost toilets were nearby and very well taken care of (these are small, self-contained toilets that may not be a great option for larger individuals), with a full shower and bathroom at the retreat center up front. Water pressure in the shower was VERY low, but it was as expected for a small earth-centric retreat center (if you need a shower while the retreat center is in place or find yourself in need of water pressure to blast off a long day, the TA truck stop is 15 minutes away and offers private showers for $17. Tent camping area had a few gorgeous trees protecting it and a fire pit for use. Owners were very welcoming, met me at arrival and provided a tour of the retreat center, map of the property, and information on anything I needed. Excellent property, would absolutely stay again.

Earthwell is a wonderful place to unplug and immerse yourself in nature without feeling completely cut off from humanity. The retreat has charming, well-stocked cabins that felt cozy and homey. Firewood and amenities were thoughtfully provided. Outhouses were well-maintained and managed odor surprisingly well. The property itself is stunning: grass trails wind through meadows, forests, hills, and streams, with a pond perfect for paddling (canoes, kayaks, and a paddleboat are included). Wildlife is abundant- fish, frogs, and turtles in the pond; hawks, bats, and countless birds overhead; and even the distant calls of coyotes and foxes. The diversity of trees- walnut, oak, maple, and pines- made the terrain lush and vibrant. Nights brought a gorgeous starry sky and mornings offered beautiful sunrises. The host, Emily, was warm and welcoming while providing plenty of space. Chelsea, just ten minutes away, makes for an easy day trip or supply run, but you may never want to leave the property. Overall, Earthwell is a fantastic spot for several days of peaceful retreat and a place that captures the best of Pure Michigan.

Tent camping at Mystic Hills was peaceful. The land was spacious and open. The fire pit was nice. There was no need to build our own. I enjoyed that convenience. Can't go wrong with having a place to make s'mores!!! The hosts were amazing. They were prompt with any questions when I asked. They were friendly and engaging in conversation. If tent camping in Michigan is your goal, Mystic Hills is definitely the place to stay. It's also convenient for access to Ann Arbor.

Pete was extremely helpful, accommodating, and responsive— and his dog Geddeon (I think that’s how it’s spelled) treated me as if I had known him for years. This place is perfect for a quick getaway that’s only a stone’s throw from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Highly recommend staying here. There are several campsites to choose from depending on what you’re looking for and each has its own quirks.
