The historic French built antebellum plantation home and gardens was built circa 1793-1820. The home and gardens is located on the Ouachita River. I built a culinary herb farm and nursery on the plantation grounds, in which I was named after by my family. My farm is called Louisiana Herbs LLC. Their are plenty of great sites to pitch a tent and camp in the plantation gardens or on the river bank. Weekend Trip to Red River Valley RV Park

Great overnight stay... not too far off major highway. They have a trail on the property that gave our 2 little Chihuahuas an added delight with all the various smells & a great way to stretch your legs. Property was well manicured - grass was cut, sites were excellent & the wifi is an added touch. Overall great stay & will definitely recommend to other travelers if in this area.

So peaceful. The spaces are wide and far enough apart to allow a little privacy. Our site was more than long enough for the truck and 5th wheel. Just FYI, all of the connections are at the back of the site, so make sure you have long hoses if your water and sewer are mid-rig like ours. Nicely treed and far enough off the road that you don't hear the road noise.

The tent set up is simple primitive camping, with a few different choices around the property.

1 night at Louisiana Plantation River Bank

The camping area is very large and very secluded. It is mowed grass surrounded by old pecan trees. It is next to a river, but with my bad knees I didn't venture to the top of the dike. Breston invited me in for seafood gumbo and cornbread. I had a great chat with him. I also met his father. I gave him some money for the meal, but I had no problem with that. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys southern hospitality.
