Red River Rewind is a small glamping community that is themed off of the owner’s passion for different genre music, vintage, antique history and memorabilia. Currently still a work in progress, we offer a customized bell tent which sits on a 20 x 30 platform deck, with a customized, insulated, fully functioning outhouse which has a shower, commode, and sink that allows endless hot water. “Elvira” is our cozy small cabin. Both have electricity, and water, and full bathroom accessibility at their own site. “Hey Jude” also offers a small wood burning stove to accommodate for cooler temperatures with an Eden pure heater, and fans for warmer weather days, and mobile AC. ELVIRA has a window AC unit and heating with small unit. The customized fully furnished bathroom just steps away from the tent, offers endless hot water. There is also a water spicket just a few steps away from the deck. Note that should the wood stove want to be used, guests need to supply their own SMALL pieces of wood as it is a miniature fireplace. The cabin will be designed with a mini split heating and air system, in the future. WiFi is not currently available though an amenity that is upcoming in the very near future, fiber internet being installed mid July 2025. Cell phone access is good in our area typically. Red River Rewind has common shared amenities to include: a 3/4 acre fully stocked pond which is available for simply viewing its beauty as the fountain flows, or catch and release fishing as seasonally available, many family and friend oriented activities to choose from to check out and return such as cornhole, large checkers, and many more. As time and weather permits, we plan to expand with really neat projects and extras in upcoming months, and would love to have visitors passing through our beautiful area who need or want a place to stay or locals who just want a little change of scenery. We are simple, ordinary people who just want to share some of the things we love about life with others. On a clear note, there are beautiful images of the stars here. The last week of May is hay cutting time, which is a great time to visit our farm! Roaring Shoals Farm is a Black Angus cattle and hay farm. It is a family farm set in the beautiful hills of eastern Kentucky. We have 600 acres of mountains that have amazing views, hiking trails, wildlife and tranquil creeks. Our family would love to welcome you to our farm! Learn more about this land: Roaring Shoals is a family farm.  This campsite  is a double capacity with full hookup, located in a rural community halfway between Jackson and Salyersville on Highway 30 East. The site is close to the road; however there is much woodland to explore located on the property. We have small waterfall and a natural rock formation that can be hiked to.  There is a shoal a very short walk from the campsite that is a wonderful place to enjoy the creek! There is great cellular service if your device uses Verizon towers, as there is a tower on the property.  This is the perfect place to come and relax if you are visiting the area.  It is approximately 12 miles from a small town with local restaurants and convenience stores.   Our farm raised , dry aged black angus beef can be purchased if available; please check availability by calling a few days prior to your stay.  You may also purchase firewood that was harvested from our property which is a certified tree farm.  Our cattle are raised on another of our properties located a few miles up the road.  We would be happy to schedule a time to take you there to see where they are born and raised.

Beautiful Cave Run Lake is nearby. It is 6 miles from the campground. One can hike, fish, kayak, boat ride etc…. We are 21 miles from Natural Bridge and 15 miles from Red River Gorge!!

**ALL SITES ARE ACCESSIBLE BY 4WD OR MODERATE UPHILL HIKE ONLY** Located in Boyd County, Ky (less than two miles from US 23), our 50 acres are on a one-lane, dead end road which makes for a peaceful, quiet night’s sleep under the stars and amongst the trees. Our sites are completely primitive (no running water, no electricity, no sewer) hike-in or 4WD accessible only, in several locations on the hills behind our residence. Potable water (2.6 gallons in a jug with spout) and portable toilet in privacy tent, or shelter, provided. *Permanent privacy shelter on two out of three sites* All sites are ideal for tent campers, overlanding-style rigs, or possibly a small, off- road trailer/camper, with fire ring and firewood provided at each site. You will have access to all trails (for hiking only) and shared access to the fishing pond (Catch and Release only at this time). There are plenty of trees for shade, hammocks, etc. There is also an abundance of wildlife: Birds, deer, turkeys, rabbits, squirrels, bobcats, coyotes, and even an occasional black bear. Large firepit at pond for socializing, if desired (Quiet time from 10pm to 8am as a courtesy to other campers). We loved our tent camping experience on Sarah's land. She was super responsive on any questions we had. There were a ton of little touches in the glamping tent that made it so nice, like games, extra blankets, extra toiletries, a mini fridge and a microwave. Being able to see the animals each day and having such a picturesque area was great. It was very peaceful.

This site is perfect! Very well kept and private. Definitely need a 4x4 vehicle to drive to site if you don’t plan on hiking to. I had no problems with my Bronco Sport with A/T tires. Owners are very pleasant and accommodating. Will definitely be coming back to this site.

The late summer wildflower garden and pollinators were great to show the 9yo how to observe bugs safely. The host Amy and her husband we incredibly helpful with out being intrusive at all. The beef was an added bonus! Would recomend leaving with a cooler full!

Kelli and her husband were incredible. After meeting both for mere minutes I felt like i had been a friend for years. Then friend and family camp is huge beyond belief. The other sites I saw were all very private and more than spacious. They are all in the steep hills of Kentucky though and when they say they recommend four wheel drive, believe them, but you can still enjoy their camps. They were more than happy to haul my gear to camp in their side-by-side when my motorcycle couldn’t make it so don’t let that scare you. This place is worth the adventure!

Super happy to have found this sweet little spot ...even though it's in a residential area with neighbors around, there's a sense of privacy thanks to the fence that goes around part of the cabin site. I was never bothered by anyone in the area and was left to enjoy the site in peace. I'm a solo female traveler and felt very safe in the space. Recommended for single travelers or couples who want to get close and cozy. It's far enough from main roads that I wasn't bothered by traffic noise. For someone who usually primitive camps to save money on travel, the site is an incredible value with the included convenience of a protective roof over your head, a clean porta potty only several steps away, and parking right next to the site. Packing in and out has never gone so easily and quickly for me as it did here. And whenever you need something or have a question, MJ is so quick to respond and helpful in every way! Things to know before you go: Cell service is a little spotty at the site (I have TMobile). The cabin's wifi helps get your directions downloaded when you want to go places. You have to drive about 20 minutes for gas and ice, and about 30 minutes for restaurants as close as Morehead. If you go there, visit the Fuzzy Duck for coffee/tea and Coffee Tree Books, great local shops all in the same building. Lovely birds in the area and spectacular summer night lightning bug shows. The gooseberries in the garden were a special treat. I can't wait to book again!

Weekend Trip to Trace Space KY

We loved our stay at Trace Space! It truly is a unique place. The A-frame is spacious, comfortable, and really has everything you need. The whole site site is adorned with thoughtful personal touches and makes for magical stay. Theres the pollinator friendly garden, fire pit sitting area, handpainted picinc table, firefly light show, handcrafted artwork, starry night, and so much more. The A-frame frame opens up and and creates a nice little veranda feel. Mother nature decided to hit us with 90+ temps but it never felt like that there. It's a 5 star setup. The hosts were absolutely amazing. I let them know I was traveling with my daughter see the area and they went above and beyond. They knew all the spots and events going on. They made some special arrangements for her visit that made it truly memorable. She checked off a couple bucket list items! They were super helpful and absolutely wonderful. 10/10! There are so many things to do within an hour or less: Red River Gorge, Daniel Boone National Forest, Carter Caves, Natural Bridge, Cave Run... We didn't even scratch the surface. That said, I'd have been just as happy in the cabin reading or drawing the weekend away. So grateful to have found and be hosted by Trace Space. We'll be back for sure!

Weekend Trip to Roaring Shoals Farm

Amy's farm is in a beautifully setting with very friendly hosts and neighbors. Our children got a kick out of waving at every car that drove past. We did a little hiking up some steep gravel roads and got our feet wet in the clear running spring water. In the evening we found a dark spot along the road to star gaze and watched a pair of bats enjoying a feast of bugs. Our only struggle was with the deer ticks, which we developed a sharp eye for. We would definitely stay again should we find ourselves in the area.

Had an amazing stay! Kelli is one of the sweetest hosts. My car could not make it up the hill, so she and her husband helped me bring my stuff up in their side by side (and helped me bring it back down for check out). The site itself was very quiet and clean. They had set up dog treats and fresh water for my pup which was really sweet. And the fire was already set up with all the logs, kindle ,etc. Kelli seems super passionate about the sites and I'm excited to see how much they continue to grow!

One part adventure, one part primitive with a sprinkle of bougie. These sites let you really feel like you are out there without being too far off the beaten path. Doug and Kelli are the most hospitable folks you'll find. Small things like stocked firewood, water and treats for your four legged friends (when applicable) are just some of the thoughtful touches you'll find. If you are looking for some solitude without the attitude this is up your alley.
