Hones Pointe was established in 1988. It was built by four insurance agents to elude our sales managers so we could enjoy a unique natural setting. Over the years, we have planted many different varieties of trees and perennials to observe. Also evidence exists of this area being an Indian camp long ago as suggested by arrowheads and an old handmade rock wall. Primitive camping where you can pick your own scenic spot. A cozy night for two (or four) in a tipi! A family reunion, or an outdoor wedding. We are able to offer three sioux-styled tipi's. Rent one tipi or rent the entire village for a birthday party or gathering. Outdoor wedding packages are available! These are 18 foot tipi's surrounded in a nature setting. We have picnic and grilling areas on-site along with a full bathroom and kitchen located at The Tipi Village office, located in a small log cabin. Each tipi has it's own sitting area and firepit, suitable for cooking. The village also has a community firepit where everyone can gather. Renting the entire campground is a great way to have a party or celebration and having exclusive use of this micro-campground. This is a glamping-type of experience with limited heat and AC, beds, carpet, and of course an electric fireplace!

Weekend Trip to Hones Pointe Campground

The Cottle Cabin was wonderful. It was very clean and has comfortable sleeping space for up to six people. The downstairs bedroom features a cozy queen‑size bed, and the loft area provides additional sleeping space that’s perfect for kids, teens, or anyone who enjoys a tucked‑away, cabin‑style place to sleep. The cabin has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The front porch is perfect for sitting outside and listening to the wildlife, and the campfire area—with its sturdy picnic table—made our evenings especially enjoyable. The host is incredibly accommodating, checks in to make sure you have everything you need, and is available if anything comes up. If you’re not interested in tent camping and don’t have an RV, this cabin is the ideal alternative. We’re already looking forward to returning in the fall or winter to enjoy a fire in the woodstove.

7 nights at Cedar Fire farm: SRI: Kamp kessa

We used this spot as a home base for our yearly hunting trip. It was perfect for what we needed. Everyone on the farm was friendly and welcoming! You’ll get to know the horses and cats as they wander around the farm and sometimes come up to you to say hello. The cabin was a great common area and place to wind down after a long day of being out in the woods.

The farm was easy to find and Brenda and Pete were very accommodating. We got a good deal on a large pile of wood for the fire pit. The cottage was cozy and warm in freezing temperatures. It was also close to the restrooms, which is a plus. My friends and I had a wonderful time, despite the cold weather.

The cabins are super comfortable and charming, part of the historic Silver Heights Camp and Retreat Center set in the wooded hills above New Albany. It's a quick drive to Louisville, but the cabins and grounds -- including a trail -- are a good reason to stay put and enjoy the camp. Jacob and staff at the retreat couldn't have been more welcoming. Such a unique way to experience the area. We'd love to come back and stay again.

Weekend Trip to Terrapin Hill Farm

Loved it here! Only one other cabin rented and they mostly fished so it was very quiet and serene. Just what I needed for my getaway. The dogs loved roaming the land and sniffing everything! Also, the horses were so sweet and lovely. Hope to get back here again in the fall!
