You can see the Tyne Valley from the camping pitches, which is great for stargazing at night. The site is basic with just water taps and toilets, no showers, but there's lots of space for kids and dogs to play.
You're allowed to bring a barbecue or firepit for cooking, and you can buy supplies in Prudhoe nearby. Or, you can walk to Hedley on the Hill for a meal at a top-notch pub.
There are plenty of things to do nearby, like walking in the woods, playing golf, or trying gliding. Time for a slice of the simple life? Grab a peaceful Lake District pitch at Church Lane Campsite and immerse yourselves in proper scenic countryside with few distractions. With a private valley, formed in the last ice age, acres of land and woodland to explore, our farm has a very special feeling which has been mentioned by every visitor. Occupied by some beautiful wildlife, including buzzards and owls, deer, badgers and foxes.
The Wagons have a grass roof, firepits, sleep 4 (in double bunk format), they are hand-made from reclaimed materials salvaged from the local town and other areas, double skinned and insulated with sheeps wool. They have a 2-ring gas-burner in the cute kitchen area, dining table and seating, and are the perfect home away from home.
All the decor is vintage, including cuttlery, crockery and even the childrens teddy's.
Being on the doorstep of Dalby Forest, there are hours of entertainment to be had. You can follow the stream at the bottom of the valley to the River Derwent or venture into the surounding woods. We can provide a guest pass (free access) for Dalby Forest.
The Wagons are not powered by electricity and are romantically lit by candles and oil lamps. Heated by cast iron gas heaters.

We loved our stay in Tan Pod over the weekend. It was cosy and had exactly what we needed for a comfortable stay. The shower had great water pressure and was nice and hot. The amenities were ample and the bed was really comfy. The view was gorgeous and a joy to wake up to. The grounds and surroundings are beautiful. Perfectly situated between Keswick and Penrith with a delicious farm shop 10mins drive away. We would stay here again.

The campsite was breathtaking, peaceful, and had little noise, though it was next to a working farm where work starts after 10:00 a.m. and stops before 6:00 p.m.
It was a relaxing experience with wonderful staff, and the toilets and showers were clean; it is one of the better showers I have been to. I will definitely be going back with other freinds!

David and Richard are very helpful, friendly and welcoming.. Lots of space and beautiful views. Very lively at the weekend and peaceful in the week - the perfect balance. Sunsets are spectacular. Clean and well maintained toilets on site and water available. Some lovely walks from the site and great pubs near by. Our dog loved it too. Will definitely be back.

Loved our trip. We booked site 2 with compost loo and shower. We were unlucky with the weather after 3 months of heat waves and no rain got every day raining but even with that loved it. Everything was easy and felt really relaxed. Also loved the sauna. Will be back for sure.

We loved camping here in the woods. The pitches are secluded and private- you have your own little patch of relaxing woodland and not a car or campervan in sight! The toilet block was so clean and I really appreciated the soft lighting as it didn't blind you when using the bathroom at night.
You can tell Duncan and the team really care about protecting this wooded area and are environmentally conscious. This was also much appreciated.
The town is just a 15-20 minute walk away and there is a nice local pub that serves great pies.
Haworth is a very short distance away and it was lovely to come back to the woods after a day out.

David is always helpful, willing to help, he's a very courteous helpful person, his site is vast easily accessible, with amazing views of the tyne valley, toilet facilities always clean and cared for, tap water is nice, i will be returning many times, and the pub The 4 Feathers, less that 130m from the site does amazing food, and is a lovely place too

Me and my partner booked here for 4 nights with our two children and are looking to book again, we would highly recommend! The kids loved playing in the beck, we all walked through to the top which was amazing (remember your water shoes!) the campsite was quite and tranquil, we brought our own fire pit and wood but it is available to hire. The hill from the car park to the tents is great exercise but the owner is also there to help you with your things. Toilets and showers were clean. We would recommend any day. Thanks again for having us!

Good campsite with decent facilities. My only issue was that the BBQ should come with coals and lighting equipment if it’s being paid for ?
