I went past the driveway the first time and then doubled back, kate's three pink flamingos next to her mailbox helped me locate it right away. Kate was warm and welcoming and I got to actually feed her goats! Her three dogs were very lovable and curious upon my arrival. The hip camp spot had a nice view of the back 40 and the pond beyond it. Enjoyed my stay there and would highly recommend if you're in the Kansas City area.

Kate’s Hipcamp site is the best. Did our yearly trip w both kids and their friends. Despite the rain, we had fun. The goats, chickens, and dogs are fun to hang out with. The land is wide open, the barn is a nice shelter when it rains. Would recommend for anyone! Kate is the best host, we have done this 4-5 years in a row now.

Overall we had a great time camping here. Kate was friendly and helpful, our campsite was a great spot, secluded with a great view of the stars at night. Our kids had a lot of fun interacting with the dogs and feeding the goats. The only issue we had was with one of the dogs on the site, they woke us up several times at night barking right outside our tent. They also tore into our trash bag that was hanging 3-4 feet off the ground. Make sure to dog-proof your campsite before turning in, and bring some ear plugs if you're a light sleeper.

Son and I stayed on the farm. Hostess was helpful and kind. Son helped feed the goats. Caught four fish in the pond. Beautiful stars and enjoyed using the telescope. Nice and peaceful time. Land and paths mowed for nice walks. Recommended.

The animals were lovely and gentle, and the farm was beautiful with lots of sunflowers in the summer. Kate was very kind and flexible and made sure that we had everything that we needed.

We enjoyed camping on Kate's land! It was perfect for a couple nights and it was great to be able to get a shower and use the mini fridge! We wished we had more time to enjoy the fire pit and fish on our vacation!

Weekend Trip to Roots, Fruits & Greens Farm
The views there were amazing and it was so peaceful and nice! Perfect place to camp at! The doggies came and let us pet them. We loved every minute of staying there.

I took my grandsons aged 12 and 9 in my travel trailer. There is a wonderful dock, benches, deck chairs, and a fire pit. The beautiful pond and biting fish kept the boys happy along with building a fire. There is a shed which we visited in the evening for a shower and to watch tv. The most perfect views. I hope to make it back someday. Hosts are lovely people with beautiful children.

I took my 9 yr old here for his first tent camping experience that wasn't our backyard. It was a success thanks to Kate's setup. I taught him more about fishing at the pond, taught him how to set up our new tent, and showed him how to heat up water in a campfire setup. Her dogs were a sweet treat as I'm still dealing with the loss of my dog of 13 years. We also loved feeding the chickens and the goats <3 Definitely recommend this place!

We had a wonderful time staying on Allie's land! The private bathroom and shower area was very clean. They were accommodating and kind and even brought us fish food and worms. The catfish were huge and fun to watch! It was an incredibly peaceful experience. Thank you!

Kate’s property was not only beautiful, but all the different amenities she provided helped to make our camp experience extra special. Our only issue was we didn’t have time to stay longer! Would definitely recommend and GREAT for families!

My daughter, dogs, and I stayed in our tent by the pond. It was quiet and secluded but we were also just a few minutes drive from groceries and anything else we might have needed. The mowed paths were great, they gave us a map of all the paths on the property. My daughter loved playing in the pond and watching the fish. We ran to town and bought floatie chairs to add to the fun. In the morning there was a family of geese with five babies that floated around on the pond while we packed up. I felt safe and had a relaxing time. Hosts are very kind and helpful.

Kate’s land was very serene and we had a peaceful stay. There is a little pond for fishing and cute barn animals. The dogs are so cute and friendly and Kate was a great host and made sure we had everything we need while also offering lots of privacy and seclusion. A good stay if you want to visit KC and then camp outside the city afterwards (which is what we did). Plenty of spots to sent up a tent. She had all these amenities that made it feel like clamping too. Refrigerator, microwave, grill, fire pit, compost toilet, hammocks, tables, water spigot, ect. 10/10 experience and for a great price. Good vibes in Kate’s farm

Such an epic trip for so many reasons. First, it’s hands-down one of the best fishing spots in Kansas. We probably got 35 to 40 fish the entire weekend bass, crappie, catfish (some over 10 pounds) sunfish and even a perch. Second, it’s a really great piece of land and the owners are simply incredible people. They brought us firewood and they had ice and a wonderful shower to use after a long day in nature. Third, close enough for needs but far enough to see the stars. Book it! You’ll love it.
