After living in the country I know how peaceful it can be. So being so close to the city and having this space that is secluded and peaceful it seemed only fair to share it with someone who is interested in the same thing. When you drive onto the property you will take the first left and follow the grave towards the pond then take a right, drive past the garden, past the fire pit and toward the trees. From there you can pick your spot to spend sometime enjoying the great outdoors.

Learn more about this land: The Address is 612 W Silknitter St. A small patch of ground with trees along the property line, a fire pit next to new maples, and internet at the house along with other amenities if asked for (laundry, shower). The ground is flat, the sunsets beautiful, and on the weekends, skydivers a mile away to watch. A path is mowed around the back couple acres if you would like to take a short walk and to see the flowers that grow natively here. I have added a 10x12 canvas tent that you can stay in, and it is furnished with 2 cots and two chairs. There is also a 3 hammock hanger that can be moved where-ever is convenient, so you can hammock camp as well. Soon (June/July 2022), a composting toilet and shower tent will be set up as well. For the fire pit, there will be a wire cook area that can be used if you would like to cook dinner and/or breakfast with a fire. If you ask, there are chickens on site and you can have a couple of eggs for breakfast :) Bee hives are being added to the property, though there won't be honey for at least 2022...this is just being set up. It's pretty quiet, nobody to really bother you, and people in the area friendly. The town of Rose Hill has plenty of amenities as well, and is less than a mile away. 29 miles away you have El Dorado State Park which is a showstopper of family fun! Located in the Flint Hills, this park has an immense wildlife area, over 8,000 acres of water, and 98 miles of shoreline (think beaches and coolers filled with cold beer). While you are here, you can take your boat on this expansive lake to explore it all while you fish for your dinner. Back on the land you’ll be beckoned by picturesque hiking trails, biking trails, and horse trails. There is a wide variety of campsites on the shoreline, offering the perfect vista to see the moon and stars reflected back into the lake. Kansas magic at its best! Pets are allowed. Please make sure you pick up after them.

Stay on the farm where the milk is produced, processed, and sold. The farm store is a short distance away and sells a large variety of farm foods. The farm consists of about 200 acres of pasture and creek bottom. The owner, Loyd, has lived on the farm all his life. We are right beside what used to be a Navy base... yeah in Kansas.:) The runway still gets used for gliders. So you might see a glider being pulled up while you are here.
