Nestled in an arch of the White River, this secluded sanctuary boasts two private lakes, offering opportunities for swimming, hiking, fishing, and relaxation. Conveniently located within a short driving distance to Indy, Bloomington, and Southern Indiana, you'll find yourself immersed in nature while still having access to nearby urban amenities.

We offer five powered campsites and numerous options for primitive camping lakeside or riverside. Please note that there are no direct water hookups, so be sure to bring your own water for your stay.

Perfect viewing for the eclipse! We live on 30 beautiful acres.  There is a 2 acre pond great for swimming, kayaking and fishing. There are several lovely camping spots, access to potable water and a barbecue and the house bathroom.  There is also a hiking trail through the woods.  We are located conveniently off the highway yet it is still private.

Camp with Alpacas at Aris Farm

This was once a self sustaining farm built in the 1950s. The farm raised cattle, pigs, chickens. There was 35 tillable acres which produced corn and oats for the livestock. The farm had its own feed grinder in the old barn. There is an old hand built cooler room where all the meat was stored. There are four wells on 
the farm one of which is used for watering animals and cooling alpacas on hot summer days.

One of our tent sites is in the corner of our alpaca pasture.  You'll hear the roosters, goats, donkeys and more than likely, Rose, our Maremma livestock guardian dog, throughout your stay.

The wide open area for camping is flat and perfect for pitching a tent!

Life Sanctuaries

The farm is one settled by the early pioneers who stopped going west in the early 1800s after they crossed the Eel river in what was then Owen County, Indiana.  Later, it became part of Clay County with the addition of Cass Township.  This working farm is comprised of 200 acres of rolling pastures and woodlands in the heart of Hoosier Hospitality - Indiana. Learn more about this land:Tent, car, and RV camping with a place for your horse too!You get your choice of where to hookup or pitch your tent and also enjoy all of the nearby attractions. There are state parks with swimming, and the Exotic Feline Rescue Center which is a little like going on a Safari!Nearby attractions include the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival and the Croy's Creek Traders Fair.  We are within a mile of the Eel River and Cataract Lake is also very close for boating and fishing.  Other attractions include the Owen/Putnam State Forest and McCormicks Creek State Park.  An abundance of wildlife can also be seen at the campsite.  

The views all around the campsite were beautiful, it really was nestled into the perfect little piece of countryside.

This was the perfect quiet little area to camp and enjoy nature!

There is also a pond just a short walk from the campsite that is very beautiful and nice to enjoy, sitting by the pond and talking, relaxing, etc.

There were beautiful flowers blooming as well!

Perfect spot to enjoy the sunset flickering through the trees.

We provide a hands on educational experience with a variety of animals, crafts and

farm operations or you can simply relax in a quiet farm setting next to the creek and enjoy the view.

 Our site is a short 10 minute drive to town or the highway (65 and 74) with the exceptional bonus of peace and tranquility of the country.

Nice walking trail around the property.  Enjoy sight and sounds of the creek. As well as, walking next to the animals in the pasture.

Studio apartment: furnished with carpet, kitchenette with granite countertops and tile floor, 1 bathroom tile floor with shower, NO SMOKING, NO PETS.

HOSPITALS: Lebanon 7 miles, Crawfordsville 19 miles, Zionsville 20 miles, Westfield 25 miles, Indianapolis (86th Street area) 26 miles, Carmel 31 miles.

Friendly pets include George the horse, outdoor cats Leroy and Lowell. Eastern time zone and good cell coverage.

Apple acres

My Great great grandfather purchased the land in 1834, I am the 5th generation on this farm. Areas first apple orchard started in 1910-1990 now a wedding venue with beautiful scenery. The retired apple orchard still has trees with vast walking trails between the rows. Amazing wildlife!

Vast walking trails that are kept mowed. Fishing pond available (with prior permission) pet friendly property for responsible owners that clean up afterword. 

2 Bathroom options! One with running water only a 2min walk or use a new port-a-pot with attached sink very close to the shelter.
