Working, 110 acre family farm of heritage breed livestock, nestled in a historic limestone quarry on the banks of the White River, on one side, and Fall Creek, on another. Dispersed with lots of space between campsites and are often all to yourself. Learn about regenerative farming with rare breeds on a farm tour, or mining and wetlands restoration on an ecological history tour. Pet and feed the livestock. Fish and bird-watch. Take a yoga class (at times with goats or bunnies) in the center of the stone henge. Have coffee with goats. Take a donkey stroll. Eat farm craft meats, eggs, prepared soups, casseroles, and baked goods, or hop into town for a bite. Across the river from McCormick's Creek State Park (Indiana's first state park with miles of trails, a swimming pool, and lodge). Just two miles north of Spencer, a small town with an excellent brew pub, winery, cafe, and more. Just 12 miles north is Cataract Falls State Recreation Area. Only 20 minutes from Bloomington and Indiana University; 45 minutes from Indianapolis Int'l Airport. This is a working farm with lots of livestock, electric fences, and working dogs, so please leave the farm animals alone unless someone from the farm is available and present. Dogs must be on a leash in the camping area, given the above features of a working livestock farm, the quarry ruins, the operative railroad tracks, and the river (not suitable for swimming), family friendly (children under the age of 18 must be attended by adults at all times).

Enjoy a stay at Heritage Farm and experience all the exhilaration that an Indiana farm has to offer. Heritage Farm is a working alpaca farm with over 50 alpacas you can watch and interact with. Also residing on the farm are a flock of chickens, several goats. The newest addition to the farm is a pair of small breed Kune Kune pigs! If you want to, you can help with the daily chores of feeding the animals and collecting eggs. After that, you can explore the big red barn that was selected as one of the top-ten Bicentennial barns in the state. Roam around the 120 acre homestead, woods and creek and soak in the sights, sounds and smells of the farm. Be sure to visit our farm store before you leave where you can shop for alpaca products such as sweaters, hats, mittens and scarves. Pick up some farm fresh eggs from our flock of pastured chickens!
Heritage Farm has several options for overnight lodging. One of the most popular places to stay is in our authentic 1850's log cabin. And it's certainly special to us as well. The cabin represents a valued part of our heritage. It reminds us every day of our agricultural roots, solid values and the importance of faith and family.

Located in the Town of Cataract alongside the most spectacular waterfalls in the Midwest is the Cataract Falls Lodge. The lodge itself sleeps up to 16 with 5 beds and 3 sofa beds. Three individual units all connecting to one another allow privacy when needed and gatherings when wanted. Across from the lodge is the Cataract Falls Wedding Veranda; an indoor-outdoor space for hosting weddings, family reunions wellness retreats, and business functions for up to 60 people.
The space

The lodge and surrounding property are set up for entire families or groups that love the outdoors and enjoy the amenities offered indoors. The lodge and Event Veranda are located at the entrance to the Cataract State Recreation Area. A short walk from the front door you are standing at one of the most magnificent waterfall features in the Midwest. Picture-taking opportunities both at the Falls and on the property are abundant. The lodge has three individual suites for privacy but with adjoining doors that adjoin one another for a family connection.

Weekend Trip to Celtic Glen Farm Stay
The small cabin was a great option for our quick weekend getaway from Indy. We brought our bikes and spent Saturday cycling, with lots of (Hilly) rural roads in the region. Sunday morning we signed up for the Summer Solstice outdoor yoga class in the henge. The local eggs and bread were wonderful additions to our weekend camp meals.

Weekend Trip to Happy Campers Campground
I was looking for a location close to Terre Haute where we could decompress after an outdoor workshop with my dog that ran a full weekend. I had previously stayed in the local hotels, but wanted something with space, quiet, and most of the standard comforts.
I was pleasantly surprised when we walked into the cabin on the first night that there was a/c. I must have not read carefully because I was ready for a humid evening, but the a/c was on and the cabin felt great! The fridge was big enough for my meals, the microwave was full size and heated up morning coffee in a jiffy. Everything was clean and organized. Bed was comfy, but honestly I’m not too picky — especially after working outdoors for 10 hours. I also don’t mind an outhouse, even when it rained for a brief period. The short distance had a nice big tree that provided cover most of the way.
The owner met me as we were unpacking and went over the form. And we had a quick chat about my weekend, and he made sure we had everything we needed.

Dwight and Happy Camper is friendly and hospitable. The cabin a clean, quant and quiet getaway with tons of charm. We have been to the cabin a few times and enjoy fishing in the pond and fire pit. Where to start with this review??
The directions to get there were easy to navigate, and communication with Dwight was super easy.
The location was absolutely beautiful, and serene. The cabin was super comfortable. The site had many amenities that our children loved. The adults favorite was the firepit, the kids loved the access to the boat and the rocking chairs on the porch. Watching the ducks and rooster and making up stories of their antics was a close 2nd.
We were only there for a couple of days but we are excited to come back next year.

I absolutely loved camping on Dwight’s land. Dwight and his wife are absolutely amazing people. They were very helpful with everything his wife even offered us life jackets and floaties so that we could go swimming in the pond and on a very hot day it was very helpful. I honestly would live there if I could haha. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dwight and Happy Campers as a place for a peaceful getaway,and I definitely will be back very soon

We've been coming here since 2020 (both during spring and winter) and absolutely love the place. We made it our annual tradition and now we have expanded our plans to an additional stay at their bigger cabin - smaller for June trips, the bigger one for November trips. If you'd like to disconnect from "the chaos", yet be comfortable during your c(gl)amping (a real restroom, shower, heatingm portable AC, grill, fireplace, etc) and within driving distance to a store and restaurants in case you forgot something, this is your place! Rugged enough if you want to go a bit rougher, yet all amenities for you less adventurous team members. This place is truly awesome! Proprietors are an absolute national treasure! We've been coming back here every year, just got back from another great outing and starting this year we are making it a twice-yearly tradition. Try it! You will not be disappointed! Cheers!

my family & i loved Dwight's place! we booked the day of & were greeted when we arrived to the cabin on the property. cabin was very clean & oh so cozy w. a beautiful view of the pond on site. my son did some pretty good fishing, room to walk the dog around & probably the cleanest outhouse i've been in to date!
