There is no electricity in the cabanas but there are power strips available in the common area.  The common area consists of a large deck with picnic tables, Wifi access (pw: pickalltheweeds), power strips for charging electronics, canopies for when it rains, a 2-burner hotplate for cooking, pots, pans, plates, utensils, cups, dry food storage and a full sized fridge with freezer. Please keep the area clean. We also offer morning Breakfast Basket options: Small basket $ - 2 Papayas, 6 bananas, 2 cups of coffee.  Large basket $ - 4 papayas, 10 bananas, morning coffee during your stay.  Please keep in mind the fruit may vary depending on what is ripe.  Coffee In order to preserve water we utilize clean non-smelling composting toilets. We also have 4 hot water showers, 2 sinks and vanity areas. Please keep showers to 5 min or less, Mahalo.  If you come with a 4-wheel drive vehicle you are welcome to drive farther up on to the property and park closer to your cabana, just follow the Parking signs. This is a beautiful spot on a secure, gated farm. (Your stuff is safe!) There are no cooking facilities at the yoga studio, but there is a sink and a large cooler for drinks, snacks, sandwiches etc.. I loved the private location, the mesmerizing sound of the Koki frogs, the wild pigs and piglets, roosters, pheasants and chickens. The resident cats and dog were sweet and Christophe and Bonnie were just lovely people. We rented Scooters and visited many shoreline access points, and the recommendations for places to eat and check out were on point! Reading in the hammock and the hanging pod were favourites of ours, it was such a great home base for our Adventuring.

Weekend Trip to Sunset Ocean View Studio

Jasmine was a wonderful host, welcoming and present without hovering. Her studio was perfectly located—close to Kona, a large grocery store and wonderful snorkeling and hiking—and it was very peaceful with bird sounds and an ocean view to the west right from the window of the screen porch for lovely sunsets. Everything was in great condition and it was spotlessly clean. The bed was super-comfortable. Jasmine’s suggestions for eating and adventuring were spot on. Just a wonderful, restorative place to stay on the Kona coast.

Weekend Trip to Kulaniapia Falls - Off Grid Cabins

Exceptional stay with our very own cabana in a beautiful landscape nestled in the jungle. With access to the waterfall and farm, we could swim when we wanted, eat fresh fruit and produce, cook in a beautiful barn loft kitchen, and play board games and read books in the couch area. So many more activities could be booked like waterfall rapelling and cooking classes, etc. All the water taps had drinking water. The staff are amazingly nice and welcoming. They had even rescued a baby lamb and was letting us milk it- adorable! Everything is well organized. Breakfast at the lodge was delicous; so was the coffee and juice. We ordered the paninis- delish! The owner is also a very kind and an inspiring person. This place is peaceful, welcoming, and fun and would recommend it many times over.

The cabins were small, pleasant places of quiet with just the river rushing past and the birds singing. Loved sitting on the front porch with my tea. Axel was responsive when we had a small issue and it was resolved in minutes. The main lodge had a kitchen (no stove but a microwave) and 2 bathrooms with showers. Saw goats and staff working in the garden. All in all, a nice place to rest for a couple days.

Beautiful quiet site with access to a community kitchen and outlets for charging devices. The common area was covered and lighted at night which was nice and the bananas were the best I've ever had. Mattresses are not super comfy but that's to be expected. Compost toilet is kept quite clean. Daisy gave me a wonderful fruit basket before I left which was delicious!

Weekend Trip to Hamakua Christmas Tree Forest

Our host, Nancy greeted us warmly when we arrived and helped us to find the entrance to the property. The bungalow was very private and cozy. We loved waking up to an incredible view of the ocean! There was a lot of cool wildlife around, including lizards, wild pigs, and parakeets. Unfortunately, we had a cloudy sky at night, but given clearer conditions, the bungalow would have been perfect for stargazing, and there was even a telescope available for us to use. One thing to note, there is a long, grassy, uphill driveway to the property. We arrived in a brand new BMW convertible and suffusive to say that was not the right car for this location.

We absolutely loved staying at Hale lo! We arrived at night so the property was very dark, enough to have really good stargazing. Looking for the cabin in the dark was an adventure in itself! As we were walking around, the coquis were singing and we could hear the river running next to our cabin once we found it. The beds were comfy. My son especially loved sleeping in the loft bed! The waterfall is stunning and we wished we had time to spend a few days and explore the land a bit more!
