Treehouse Green Farm and Garden

The Treehouse Farm campsites are about 20 minutes from Volcano National Park, and 40 minutes from Hilo airport and the beaches. The Treehouse Cannabis Garden is the perfect remote setting for healing and relaxing. The Greenhouse and Solar Camping sites are in the garden. The Campervan site is in the driveway. A trail separates the camping area from the treehouse and the outdoor bath amenities with a jungle vibe. Cannabis consumers and non Cannabis consumers enjoy the serenity of the garden camping area. This is a unique camping experience. It's not glamping but if you wish we can set you up with extras like a tent setup, ac electric, a cooler with ice, an educational tour and more are available at additional cost. It's important to us and the patients we serve that we grow Cannabis year round. However, sometimes due to forces out of our control, our garden may not be as pictured. Like most outdoor gardens on the big island we harvest at the end of our long growing season in August or September. During the colder, rainier and shortest days of the year (Nov.-Jan.) we have most likely harvested the majority of plants and have started new sprouts. Be sure to check out our blog for the latest updates in the garden. The Cannabis Garden Greenhouse Site is a bit more glampish but definitely not glamorous. It is comfortable inside the popup screened area under the transparent tarp. It's dry and easy to setup an air mattress under the mosquito net. The treehouse was designed and built within a pre-existing canvas of native Ohia and Hapuu forested canvas. The house was not designed around human needs but around the existing environment. Spiritual visitors can find peace here. We give thanks to Hawaiian Gods Lono, Ku, Kanaloa and Kane. Check Your Gear First things first, let's start with the basics – Whether it is checking the gas and oil in your campervan or finally giving your tent that deep clean it deserves. In the rainforest, it's nice to spray some waterproofing for an extra layer of protection on your rainfly. But you will be inside the 8x8 tent that's inside the dry greenhouse tent 10x20. So don't water proof your tent for our campsite but consider water proofing your hiking boots if you plan on hiking our native forests. Remember to give clean your sleeping bags before heading out. The nearest washer and dryer are 30minutes away. Clean gear will feel good. So grab your cleaning supplies and get to work – your gear will thank you! 2. Test Out New Gear Thinking of investing in some shiny new camping gear this season? Before you embark test out your new gear closer to home. This will give you the opportunity to familiarize yourself with your new equipment, work out any kinks, and ensure everything is in working order before you venture to Hawaii. 3. Plan Your Trip Whether you're dreaming of mountains, rivers, beaches, trailers or ocean adventures, now is the time to start researching destinations, booking manta ray night dives, dolphin swims and mapping out your routes before you arrive will give you something to look forward to as you countdown the days until your flight. 4. Pakele Ho'omoana (Escape Camp)

Our property features a beautiful fern and Ohia forest that before our development remained entirely untouched and undeveloped. The last lava flow in Eden Roc occurred 300-400 years ago. The flows from the 1790 eruption covered a wide area from the summit of Kīlauea to the coast, including the subdivisions of Hawaiian Acres, Crescent Acres, Fern Forest, and Mauna Loa Estates. Because of this, all rocks on the property consists of soft basalt and a healthy layer of soil in majority. The forest is very dense, and guests are urged to stay on the provided trails as some areas of the property have features created from previous lava flows moving around trees, which have since rotted; leaving behind large holes in the ground that can pose as a safety hazard. Please be aware of this when visiting! We are unaware of any underground features such as lava tubes or caverns but are present in the community of Eden Roc.

It's mostly peaceful here and it feels like being in the country. You can walk into the woods or up the road. There are no street lights, so there is a great view of the night sky. It's a great place for a Retreat, a Writer's Retreat, a Vision Quest or a Medicine Journey. Hawaiian Rainforest Glamping

Hawaiian Rainforest Glamping is located in Fern Forest, a rural neighborhood, on three verdant acres of ōhiʻa lehua trees, tree ferns, banana plants, and fruit trees at 2100 feet. There is also a large communal kitchen (a 16' x 16' kitchen cabin) that you can use free of charge. In the summer, the greenhouse in the fenced paddock is full of vegetables. Free-ranging ducks and chickens supply eggs. There is an outdoor lounge area complete with a six-person picnic table, four hammocks, a fire pit, and torches. This is a peaceful place to relax and recuperate from the din of city life. There are no street lights, just the stars and moon after sunset. On a clear night, the sky is full of stars. Those nights are perfect for lighting a small fire pit (wood is available for a small charge). It rains often in this area and the sound is soothing to fall asleep to. The owner lives on the property premises in their own cabin, which is next to the yurt. The homestead is run by 6,000 watt solar-power and a rain-catchment system with a 4,500 gallon water tank. The yurt has its own bathroom with a flushing toilet and vanity sink. The shower (hot water) is an outdoor shower. Several places of interest are within a 1.5 hour drive. Volcano National Park is only 15 minutes away by car; Punaluʻu black sand beach is 30 minutes; Ka Lae (South Point) is about 1.5 hours; and Hoʻokena Bay is about two hours. Note—now that the the holiday season is over, the Christmas decorations have been taken down.

TreeHouse in canopy of trees

Learn more about this land:Aloha,I built the treehouse to be a very romantic hideaway for myself and my honey, and now that I'm renting it out, the couples and families who have stayed here, including many honeymooners have appreciated the romance of the setting and ambiance. (In fact, we had considered calling it KamaSutreehouse when setting up the website!.) It's not just romantic though it's really fun for the kids. The setting is so private, surrounded by such natural beauty that one cannot help but be inspired. My favorite romantic details are the fireplace and the bed perched high up in the loft where you're surrounded by windows looking out at the moon and stars at night and native trees, birds and cloud formations by day, the low ceilinged double futon bed approached by inside later ( which is mostly for kids) and also accessible by crawling under the Master Bed ( about 5 feet up). The Sky-Walk 90 feet out into the forest is the latest whimsical and fun additions. The location is great it's very private and quiet, hidden in the rainforest yet it's only 3 miles from Volcano Village and 5 miles from the park entrance. Some guests a never leave the Treehouse. The TreeHouse is at 2860 feet above sea level, plus 20 ft. for the TreeHouse, and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is at a little over 4000 feet above seas level for the viewing of the glow from the vent at a mile distance, on the edge of the crater. For the most comprehensive information about the island and local area, I recommend the book, The Big Island Revealed. The main attraction locally, of course, is Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and the hiking thru lava fields, lava tubes and even across the floors of craters. Volcano Village is well known as a premier artist colony and is home to many scientists, as well. Hilo is 25 miles away and has many attractions, including a new, state of the art astronomy museum that shouldn't be missed. And of course the Island is surrounded by beautiful blue ocean and all the activities that go with that.

We have worked hand-in-hand with the land to create a biophilic experience in hopes of offering our guests an inspirational and energizing experience The spaceWe started our Homestead over 7 years ago on a lava 3 zone in an O'hia forest. Knowing this is some of the newest land on the planet we have left much of the Natural topography intact while clearing by hand many invasive species and successively planting many tropical, and native varieties of vegetation bringing about this beautiful space. This has given us a glimpse into Nature's hidden biognosis... And what beautiful wisdom it has revealed which we would like to share now with you our guests :) We're conveniently situated between Volcano National Park, Historic Pahoa Village, and Hilo's Port Town. We were suggested by many after our first 5 years here to open our homestead to others looking for a simple reprieve from the weight of the go-go world with hopes that people leave more connected to go with the flow. We hope by welcoming you to our homebase for your Big Island adventures we'll be able to help connect more people to the biophilia that has brought such tranquility to our lives. Aloha Aina!! Your private space is a 20'x10' raised cabin that offers covered outdoor space as well as indoor accommodations. You will find the inside furnished with two full spring mattress bunk beds, a small eating bar overlooking our backyard area with two stool seats, a personal work area with an accommodating cooler for perishables (Please provide ice or we can arrange for block ice from our local general store if desired), and personal clothing storage, as well as wi-fi options. Your private cabin space does have full electricity separate from the commons, but still off grid so please refrain from using strong energy draw items like hair wands or instant heaters, such electrical items are not suited for off-grid electrical systems. Our Common space is open from 7a.m.-10p.m. During this time, you will have full access to a shared kitchen, as well a full bathroom with both an indoor and outdoor shower. The bathroom is available around the clock but after-hours hot water is off so please be aware if you're planning on taking a midnight shower. Please let us know if you need any amenities such as hot water or wi-fi after 10p.m. or before 7a.m. and we will set a timer for your convenience, otherwise we are very energy efficient in the commons. We are currently home to 3 wonderful dogs that may greet you as you drive up, 3 spectacular cats, 2 mischievous parrots, 3 goats, 12 chickens and 1 rooster. So please know there are animals present. We ask for you to take into consideration that we are a "Working homestead" and we are "Off Grid" so there will be projects much like any farm setting. There are animals that can make noises, there are mulch piles always moving around, compost piles that might not be your cup of tea because they smell, but they certainly make great compost teas to help the flowers grow that smell beautiful right outside your window! There are small projects that may look like clutter, such as seed saving, or canning, but those small clutters grow the plants that fill those jars! On occasion we have people who overlook this reality of nature and our connection to it... possibly because they've seen too many staged reality shows or maybe they have never visited a real farm in person before, but we are grateful that the overwhelming majority of people who have had this attitude have left with an appreciation for nature many expressed they never knew they had!! Those guests have filled our hearts with their kind gratitude :) This is a place full of joyful work for us, so please understand we are a destination for many who love nature, and if you're afraid of dirt or nature in general, this might be a great opportunity to connect with what has always been waiting for you to discover!! Guest accessThe last two blocks into our homestead are rock road as we are a rural location. We will provide a map upon booking with the best access through our Ag-lots for your convenience. Please travel safe and plan for our check-in between 3p.m. and 9p.m. with early and late check-in avalible with approved notice :) Parking is available to either side at the end of the driveway. Other things to noteAlittle about our homestead;Please understand that we are off-grid, and while we've been off grid 8 years now, we've only been hosting stays like this for 3 years, and we see that we are a destination for many visitors looking for a nature bathing kind of experience, but it's not everyone' cup of coffee... Sooo speaking of coffee, if you are looking for things like an General Electric coffee pot or any electric coffee maker (that are literally designed to wastes energy to just make money) we probably aren't the best fit for your stay ... BUT ... If you want to experience home grown Cacao added to fresh ground coffee brewed Italian style to make an amazing Mocha, FRESH, then we can easily make that while showing you some great energy saving ideas to take home :) like make coffee the way our great grandparents made coffee, it tastes better and is really easier than one may think! We share some toasted homemade sourdough bread out of fresh harvested stocks too, but it again isn't an energy guzzling shinny toaster that does the toasting, it is a cast iron skillet that we toast on, just like our great grandparents did too... Actually one of my favorite skillets belonged to my Great Grandma, so this is the real deal :) Come up and join us when we turn the commons on at 7a.m. if you're interested. We have very little light pollution which will afford beautiful star gazing on clear nights, and epic full moons!! But this means that you should use a flashlight or headlamp which we can provide at your leisure. We don't poop in a bucket in the woods, we actually have a working toilet, and Hot water for showers, a gas powered full range stove. But we also compost and make methane for 100% green energy use... There are chickens and goats, parrots, Dogs & Cats. We have been told by some that it is too cluttered, and by others you make me our home look clean our kitchen table (3'x9') always has some sort of a project on it. One guest said they were so happy to see so much going on as they sat watching us make bread, while another was upset that they didn't have a private kitchen. We feel we are very affordable for what we have to share, and if you feel this description will not fit your needs, then please don't book us because we're affordable. Trust us if we could offer a private kitchen it would only raise our price. We really hope more than anything to share and inspire what a homestead is, and that even in a suburb, or a rural apartment there are small things we can do to save energy and bring ourselves closer to nature!!

Wild and organic. That is the best way to describe our gardens. Our hanai mom started caring for this land over forty years ago. Her passion for flowers, fruits and organic, simple living can still be seen even in our attempts to gain some control. The land is in my sisters and my care now and we hope to honor her, keeping everything organic. Fighting back the invasive plants and continuing to plant more flowers, fruits and vegetables. We want to bring back some animals and create an environment that would bring her joy. We are so blessed to see René in all the beauty she gifted us with. Our tropical rainforest, with forty years of love, beautiful organic gardens, tangerines, avocados, kukui, rhododendron, anthurium, hibiscus, and so much more to wander and enjoy. Rene would tell us how the railroad ended at the grove. We have found evidence. When the sky is clear at night you can see the milky way. This is my favorite place. I hope you enjoy. There are things to be aware of, it's camping outdoors. There are bugs. Mosquitos, centipedes, fire ants. And there are pigs. Diatomaceous earth is great to put down before making camp. It's natural and detours bugs of all kinds. With the pigs, be louder and bigger than them and don't get between babies and parents.

Pakele Ho'omoana (Escape Camp)

Our property features a beautiful fern and Ohia forest that before our development remained entirely untouched and undeveloped. The last lava flow in Eden Roc occurred 300-400 years ago. The flows from the 1790 eruption covered a wide area from the summit of Kīlauea to the coast, including the subdivisions of Hawaiian Acres, Crescent Acres, Fern Forest, and Mauna Loa Estates. Because of this, all rocks on the property consists of soft basalt and a healthy layer of soil in majority. The forest is very dense, and guests are urged to stay on the provided trails as some areas of the property have features created from previous lava flows moving around trees, which have since rotted; leaving behind large holes in the ground that can pose as a safety hazard. Please be aware of this when visiting! We are unaware of any underground features such as lava tubes or caverns but are present in the community of Eden Roc.

Hawaiian Rainforest Glamping

Hawaiian Rainforest Glamping is located in Fern Forest, a rural neighborhood, on three verdant acres of ōhiʻa lehua trees, tree ferns, banana plants, and fruit trees at 2100 feet. There is also a large communal kitchen (a 16' x 16' kitchen cabin) that you can use free of charge. In the summer, the greenhouse in the fenced paddock is full of vegetables. Free-ranging ducks and chickens supply eggs. There is an outdoor lounge area complete with a six-person picnic table, four hammocks, a fire pit, and torches. This is a peaceful place to relax and recuperate from the din of city life. There are no street lights, just the stars and moon after sunset. On a clear night, the sky is full of stars. Those nights are perfect for lighting a small fire pit (wood is available for a small charge). It rains often in this area and the sound is soothing to fall asleep to. The owner lives on the property premises in their own cabin, which is next to the yurt. The homestead is run by 6,000 watt solar-power and a rain-catchment system with a 4,500 gallon water tank. The yurt has its own bathroom with a flushing toilet and vanity sink. The shower (hot water) is an outdoor shower. Several places of interest are within a 1.5 hour drive. Volcano National Park is only 15 minutes away by car; Punaluʻu black sand beach is 30 minutes; Ka Lae (South Point) is about 1.5 hours; and Hoʻokena Bay is about two hours. Note—now that the the holiday season is over, the Christmas decorations have been taken down.

Welcome to Edenova! We are a 1 year old food forest/ sustainable farm located in Eden Roc, Hawai'i at 1800ft. So far we have about 18 fruit trees growing along with a small vegetable bed, herbs, and numerous flowers and ornamentals. Incredible amounts of love has been poured into this land and there's an infinite amount more to come. This is an ideal setup for car campers and vanlifers. You are welcome to carcamp and/or bring your own tent and pitch it anywhere on the freshly cindered open area :) Two of the best restaurants on the island (Dimple Cheek and Da Beans Greens Cafe) are within a 13 minute drive, along with a Wai Puna (free) water filling station, post office, and gas station + convenience store. We have a small outdoor kitchen with a 2 burner stove, and a 250 gallon water tank for washing dishes. You will need to bring your own drinking water. We will have a hot water heater + shower setup soon. We have a professionally build Humanure Composting toilet. We are less than 400 feet from the paved road so any vehicle will be able to drive straight onto the land. Treehouse Green Farm and Garden

The Treehouse Farm campsites are about 20 minutes from Volcano National Park, and 40 minutes from Hilo airport and the beaches. The Treehouse Cannabis Garden is the perfect remote setting for healing and relaxing. The Greenhouse and Solar Camping sites are in the garden. The Campervan site is in the driveway. A trail separates the camping area from the treehouse and the outdoor bath amenities with a jungle vibe. Cannabis consumers and non Cannabis consumers enjoy the serenity of the garden camping area. This is a unique camping experience. It's not glamping but if you wish we can set you up with extras like a tent setup, ac electric, a cooler with ice, an educational tour and more are available at additional cost. It's important to us and the patients we serve that we grow Cannabis year round. However, sometimes due to forces out of our control, our garden may not be as pictured. Like most outdoor gardens on the big island we harvest at the end of our long growing season in August or September. During the colder, rainier and shortest days of the year (Nov.-Jan.) we have most likely harvested the majority of plants and have started new sprouts. Be sure to check out our blog for the latest updates in the garden. The Cannabis Garden Greenhouse Site is a bit more glampish but definitely not glamorous. It is comfortable inside the popup screened area under the transparent tarp. It's dry and easy to setup an air mattress under the mosquito net. The treehouse was designed and built within a pre-existing canvas of native Ohia and Hapuu forested canvas. The house was not designed around human needs but around the existing environment. Spiritual visitors can find peace here. We give thanks to Hawaiian Gods Lono, Ku, Kanaloa and Kane. Check Your Gear First things first, let's start with the basics – Whether it is checking the gas and oil in your campervan or finally giving your tent that deep clean it deserves. In the rainforest, it's nice to spray some waterproofing for an extra layer of protection on your rainfly. But you will be inside the 8x8 tent that's inside the dry greenhouse tent 10x20. So don't water proof your tent for our campsite but consider water proofing your hiking boots if you plan on hiking our native forests. Remember to give clean your sleeping bags before heading out. The nearest washer and dryer are 30minutes away. Clean gear will feel good. So grab your cleaning supplies and get to work – your gear will thank you! 2. Test Out New Gear Thinking of investing in some shiny new camping gear this season? Before you embark test out your new gear closer to home. This will give you the opportunity to familiarize yourself with your new equipment, work out any kinks, and ensure everything is in working order before you venture to Hawaii. 3. Plan Your Trip Whether you're dreaming of mountains, rivers, beaches, trailers or ocean adventures, now is the time to start researching destinations, booking manta ray night dives, dolphin swims and mapping out your routes before you arrive will give you something to look forward to as you countdown the days until your flight. 4. Prepare for your visit by connecting with your host in advance. You'll want someone on site to greet you and unlock the gate. Mobile phone service may not be available as you near the property. So please be sure to download the pdf to your device. Let us know if the directions seem unclear when we email then to you. Please don't rely on Google maps or intuition for directions. 5. We are remote. Get oriented with directions before you leave for the property. 6. Our roads are in good shape but the quality does vary when we get a lot of rain. Once you make it to the property, pull all the way into the driveway. If you've provided us with your check in time, someone will come out to greet you. We will then show you to your spot so you can get setup. It's not a problem to arrive or check in later. Signs on the path will help you find your campsite. Consider setting up your camp before dark. 7. Prior to arriving, take a little time to learn about Hawaiian culture. Kū, Kanaloa, Kāne and Lono rule here.
