My great grandfather sold this property to his son Edgar, $1.25 acre in 1926. He was 16 years old and getting married, they raised 7 children in a one room cabin on this property and life was hard. Grampa cut wood, worked in a mine in Chattanooga, made moonshine, and anything else to feed his family. There's 200 acres here still in the family, most can be used to explore and camp on.

Please be advised: the well is nonfunctional therefore, there is no water on the property for campers at the moment. Facilities are down. There is a truck stop close by for filling freshwater tanks. However, there is 30 amp service.
5.5 acres. Water. Electricity. 30 Amp hookup. Dump station. Bathroom. Sink. Microwave. Full shower. Spare single bed in the mother-in-law suit. Internet. Campfires allowed in the horse corral only. Otherwise need to be contained to a grill. Free fresh eggs daily. Tent camp anywhere on the property. RVs need to be within 100 feet of the pole barn and plan on leveling the camper. We loved everything about our stay at Winding Stair Farm! The farm was beautiful, bathrooms clean and well stocked, and the camp store was so handy for essentials. We enjoyed walking by the river and visiting the farm animals every evening. Such a peaceful place and we cannot wait to stay again. Couldn’t recommended more!

There are so many good things about this spot. You get the combination of a beautiful, peaceful spot on a creek and amenities like a fire pit, hammock and toilets and showers, with friendly dogs and goats as a bonus. And on top of all of that Ralph is the best host. He is thoughtful and accommodating and does everything to make sure you are happy and have everything you need during your stay. Thank you, Ralph!

We had a great time here at one of the river side camps! Sites are large enough for a big group and Andrew was a fantastic host! Very well kept site. Be sure to check out his mountain top sites also if you are looking for a view. We plan to come back soon and stay at one of those. Very remote (45 min to nearest gas station/stores) so plan accordingly. Direct access to FSR into national forest. Can’t wait to return!

This was an incredible experience for my wife and I! The site we landed on had the most amazing views we could have asked for. Secluded, quiet, and serene are the best words I could use to describe this site. It is definitely off the beaten path, so be prepared for the 5 miles of gravel road leading to the campsite.
Our dogs thoroughly enjoyed hiking beside the river and playing on the rocks.

Loved the mountain top view, my dog didn’t wanna leave. This is a great spot highly recommend, the trail getting to the camping spot was remote and beautiful. You need 4x4 and some comfort with tight corners and sharp drop offs. 10/10 will be back
