Wild Abandon Ranch

1 site · RV, Tent50 acres · Paonia, CO
Wild Abandon Ranch is a gorgeous 50 acre property that we just acquired in March of 2023. Sadly, the property had been abandoned and neglected for over 20 years and we are doing our best to breath some new life into her. We are chasing those land dreams! This property has a wild amount of potential and an endless story of labor and we hope to bring a new vision and purpose to this very special place. The Hipcamp site is located down by the creek (on the SOUTH side of Minnesota Creek Rd) where you'll have total privacy and room to relax and explore. The deer trails are a great way to get lost amongst the trees and the rhythm of the creek. Just down the road further on Minnesota Creek Road is direct access to National Forest. Our property is only 3.5 miles from the town of Paonia so you're oh-so-close yet so far away from it all. Paonia is central to the abundant North Fork Valley and there is so much to experience in this area. From hiking, biking, camping, or swimming to touring the many vibrant vineyards or galleries. Your visit is directly contributing to this land's second chance. We hope you'll visit again and follow along in the evolution of Wild Abandon Ranch. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

The Cabin at Welder Ranch

2 sites · Lodging120 acres · Meeker Po Box 823, CO
If you are looking to get far away where you can see every star at night, enjoy the sound of a pristine headwaters stream, look out on horses and green pastures and walk out your door to some of the most beautiful alpine trails in the world, the Cabin at Welder Ranch is your place. Moose, elk, and deer travel these forests and meadows, and the Cabin's adjacency to the enormous and pristine White River National Forest gives you incredible space to imagine yourself back in time. Unwind and rejuvenate in alpine nature, with each season offering its own incredible and unique beauty. Make a fire, cocoon over your own homecooked meals, enjoy a cocktail or hot chocolate and listen to the outdoor sounds as you sit on the porch overlooking open meadows with beaver ponds and gushing streams. Ride horses, hike, fish, and explore. This is a dream location for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Our ranch property is surrounded by the White River National Forest and has been in the family for over 30 years. There are 100's of miles of streams and trails for hiking, riding, and OHV's. There is an additional charge for pets but they are welcome as long as they stay off the furniture. We operate a guide and outfitting service from the ranch and provide horseback rides and back country trips. The cabin was built around 1973. It has a bedroom, full bathroom, living area, and kitchen. It uses electric heat and has a wood stove.

There is a picnic table nestled in the scrub oaks. We only rent one side and the entire property is private to you! We do have neighbors, but the property is pretty well tucked away. You may see the occasional vehicle or hiker on the road or hear someone doing some yard work, but it is generally very quiet and secluded at the yurt. Our neighbors have chosen to live in Marble for its privacy and tranquillity. Please show them respect by keeping the noise down and leaving them be. If you have questions or need help, call us from the yurt landline. Winter camping experience/equipment and a high-clearance 4x4 vehicle with severe snow-rated tires and chains may be required to access the yurt Oct-April. During large snow events, driving to the yurt may be impossible in any vehicle. Skiing to the yurt may be an option Dec - Feb. Gear sleds are available at the yurt for your use.

Spotted Fox Meadow

4 sites · RVs, Tents175 acres · Yampa, CO
This land has been my family's ranch since the early 70's. We love it here and are happy to share it with campers that wish to enjoy the valley and respect the land. More about this campsite: The site is in a small ranch pasture along the Bear River near willow, birch, and large cottonwood trees. From the campsite there are views of the Flat Top mountains and ancient volcanic necks. Very quiet except for ranch activity and the friendly livestock guardian dogs (who will visit, and they bark to protect the sheep and goats at night) - it's a working ranch and you may have to contend with talkative sheep or dodge the occasional cow pie!

Mountain Meadows

1 site · Lodging160 acres · Oak Creek, CO
Our 160 acre property is surrounded on all four sides by miles of National Forest. We recently built our cabin/house adjacent to Trout creek which runs through the property. This property was originally homesteaded in the 1800’s. An original two story cabin built in the 1890s still stands on the property. The logs in that cabin are said to have come from “The Meeker Massacre” (one of the last Indian uprisings in the west). We still hay the 60 acre meadow that has fed cows for many years on the property. Campers can expect to see all kinds of wildlife, from large moose to small chipmunks on the property. Hiking around the meadow is a favorite activity of campers, or just relaxing in a rocking chair looking at the beautiful views.
