I love the Oak Grove area because we had a group of women about 12 and we all fit really good with our motorhomes, trailers, tents, cars. It was a beautiful grove. The whole mountain is beautiful thank you so much for making this a beautiful place for everybody to camp and have fun.

I have stayed in the communal area twice in the last 6 months with a large group of women and both times it was wonderful. Since my visit in June they have added two more flushing toilets to this area and a FANTASTIC outdoor shower with hot water. We hiked the campground and there is such a great variety of options for all kinds of camping. I would say if you are in a HUGE rig, you might be white knuckling it on the drive in, but once you are here, its simply glorious. Beautiful sunsets, fabulous views and the staff is FANTASTIC!! I can't wait to go back

Went as part of a group at the Oak Grove which was set under large oak trees and was nice and shaded. Lots of land to take walks and explore. Met the goats a few times as they roam free through the property. Bathrooms with flush toilets are clean and unique hot showers also. My sty was beginning of November. Not too cold not too hot. Enjoyed the stay!

Very cool property, beautiful San Diego Mountain scenery. I walked the property several times with my dog and she got to meet some goats and a nice Great Pyrenees. Checked out some other empty camp sites that I would want to rent next time for multiple days. The hilltop one looked awesome and there another hill too structure you can drive/walk to. Definitely will come back. Nice granite on the property. Makes it feel like Joshua tree with out the drive

Camped in the Oak Grove with our pups and it was perfect. Potable water access, clean restrooms, showers (luxury), directions were clear, and the mellow/welcoming vibes from everyone we encountered was a bonus. The goats and pups that roam the property were all friendly and I absolutely loved watching them wander through camp. Little bummed they stayed away because of our pups but glad we walked down to visit them in their area. Hoping to make it back to camp at different spots on the property and pet some goats 🤣. Definitely recommend visiting splitrock 🙌🏼

I love this site because it has a good amount of shade in the afternoon and is nearby the clean restrooms. There is a ton of room to ride bikes and take long or short hikes. I had a lot of fun. Thanks Ben!

1 night at Splitrock Farm and Retreat
Tucked away on a dirt hill, the bright orange VW bus sits shaded against a huge boulder. It opens completely in the back for a cool breeze and paints a retro picture. There are two metal chairs besides it.
I was expecting a picnic table, but that was absent. Luckily, I brought a table. The wooden platform below the bus was a really nice touch. I would have loved an outdoor rug to complete the look. I would recommend bringing your own lighting (lanterns, headlamps, lights). Overall, it's a unique, van life camping spot.

My family and I had great time at Split Rock farms. Our site was close to the goat farm and big white guard dog. The kids had a great time watching the goats and petting the friendly dog. Our site was great for a family with kids, as it was fairly large, flat, and had some large boulders that the kids loved climbing. We would definitely recommend!

I had never stayed at the communal campsite but I was pleasantly surprised by the individual sites being separated from eachother. I still felt I was provately camping. You can hear your neighbors and children playing which is nice or not depending on what type of stay you would like to have. I enjoyed the community feel of the Oak Grove campsites. Some are close together and some are tucked between boulders and in the grove. I stayed at site 1 which has a firepit and is away from the main group site. Next time I will stay in the meadow/grove. Loved it overall!

We had an awesome experience camping with a couple of families. It was the first time camping for some of our group and everyone really enjoyed themselves. The site is private and easily accessible. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained. The goats came up to our site in the morning and the kids loved it!! We’re considering rebooking over the same weekend next year and making it a tradition.

We booked the site HORIZONS purposefully because it looked to be the most secluded site on the property and it was! We loved that, it was at the end of the sites; beautiful views from the top of the Boulder buttttt.. the area for tents was quite small. We needed space for 4 tents, one tent had to cancel leaving us with 3 and that’s really all that could fit comfortably. The fire ring was fantastic and protected from the wind, but again the area to put chairs was too small, only 2-3 fit comfortably by the fire, the others were removed enough that we got cold. The table and chairs, were nice to have but boy they were quite rundown.
The bathrooms were noted that it was a 5-7min walk, during the day it’s fine, the road however is steep walking back up, at night we drove to them. They were very nice to have though and clean. We’d love to see a bathroom closer to our site, maybe at the flat viewpoint area just above our campsite.
We never got a chance to interact with the camp host, or see the camp store, it was always closed. The goats did pay a few visits to our site as well, all 20ish of them, so be mindful of that! And it gets very hot during the day, there is NO shade so plan ahead for shade!
Last, at no fault to splitrock, a huge airbnb nearby appeared to have a party both nights so we heard LOUD rave music 6pm-6am since the canyon projected the sound, not fun :(
Overall again, we had a lovely time and would come back, and even rent one of the domes on the property!

Redtail Rock was great. The campsite itself is in a very wide open space with good opportunity for birdwatching and bike riding just outside of your tent. There is a convenient hose with clean water at the site. This site probably has one of the coolest firepits on the property since it is tucked just above the site in massive boulders that make it feel cavernous and private. Will definitely stay again.

Our second trip to split rock. This time we stayed at Oak Grove and it was great. The bathrooms are very clean and surprisingly sophisticated. Plus the outdoor shower on a rock was one of a kind amazing and unexpected. Beautiful scenery worth the extra drive from the freeway.
