Avoid the crowds and explore Lassen Volcanic National Park, just a short drive away, it is home to steaming fumaroles, meadows freckled with wildflowers, clear mountain lakes, and numerous volcanoes.
We're proud to know this area intimately and are excited to share the secret spots with you. Excellent hiking & running trails, and thousands of miles of ATV, dirt bike, and mountain bike trails are accessible right from our camp or within a short drive from Camp Almanor. You may just want to sit outside and read for days, enjoy the tall pine trees, and eat s’mores. The more adventurous may prefer kayaking, boating, fishing, bird watching, and stand-up paddle boards. The surrounding terrain offers endless activities and unbelievable scenery in a remote wilderness setting.
Our cabin collection is where you will find the perfect lodging for your stay. Our options include a cozy studio cabin with a full bed, bunk beds, or futon, our popular loft cabin that sleeps up to six with a queen bed and two full mattresses in a low-ceiling loft, and our spacious chalet with room for eight. Each cabin comes with a fully stocked kitchen and essential items like linens and towels, ensuring a comfortable stay. To make your stay more comfortable, we suggest bringing along some additional beach towels, as the towels provided are meant for use only within the cabin. No matter what size group you are traveling with, we have a cabin option for you. Book now to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing getaway in the heart of nature.
Pet Policy
All our cabins and seasonal RV sites are pet friendly and we allow up to two dogs per reservation. We ask that they stay off the furniture (beds, sofas etc.) and are not left in the rental unattended. We love dogs, but sadly won’t be able to accommodate heavily shedding pets that aren’t house trained. Additionally, our insurance will not allow "aggressive breeds" that include any mix of: Pit Bull, Rottweiler, Doberman, German Sheppard.
Please pick up after your pup and use a leash when at the camp. Thank you in advance for your consideration and help in keeping our camp a mellow and enjoyable place for everyone.

2 nights at Tambo Ranch Tiny House Village
This was the perfect place to take a day or two and just relax. The tiny house had just enough kitchen that for a short stay you didn’t need to go out unless you wanted to. It was impressively efficient. I did bring a cooler because I like cold beverages, but the small fridge would be enough for the yogurts and cheese I brought with for my 2 night stay.
I had a nice time playing with the kittens, Caspian the dog, (who dutifully slept on my porch) and exploring the property.
The bed downstairs was very comfortable and it was nice falling asleep to the sounds of nature outside. 10/10 recommend!

We stayed at the Tiny House on our way home from a trip to the Portola area and the Feather River Canyon. The Tiny House, though tiny, has every thing you might need. Couch, desk, sink, stove, frig, bathroom, shower, heater/air conditioner and spacious loft bed. Everything functional and clean. Outdoor table and chairs outside with beautiful patio tree lighting available at night. We found a friendly dog under the front stairs in the morning and a wide variety of chickens to gaze at on the property. All good here.

Really neat little ranch property with 3 cozy abodes to rent. The tiny cabin we stayed in was very clean and thoughtfully designed to maximize the space. It was very hot the weekend we visited so thankful for the AC unit which got our house down to comfortable within seconds! Our kids loved the chickens, sheep, and llama!. Downtown Chico is only 15-20 mins away and Oroville only 20-30, lots of options! Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Tambo Ranch Tiny House Village
I originally booked the airstream for a little getaway with my husband and our daughter, but he unfortunately became a bit ill and decided to stay home. At the last minute I decided to still go, taking our 17 month old daughter on our first Mother-Daughter glamping trip. It was the best decision ever!
I asked If we could switch to the Tiny Home w/ a king bed and Carolyn and Julio happily obliged. The space was absolutely beautiful, immaculately clean and had everything we needed. They even welcomed us with farm fresh eggs and delicious homemade muffins! All of the cute and friendly animals on the property kept my daughter and I thoroughly entertained. We especially loved playing with all the kittens roaming around and we had a blast feeding the chickens.
I loved chatting with Carolyn and Julio and getting to know them a bit. They are such kind and loving people who truly made my daughter and I feel right at home. I am already planning our next visit back!

We absolutely loved this campsite! It was beautiful and clean and had a ton of amenities. I appreciated how many different sleeping/camping accommodations it offered, from basic campsites, to yurts and cabins. The location was also very convenient to Lassen National Park which was a big plus for us!

4 nights at Little House in the Big Woods
This place was easy to find and SO CUTE! I wanted a little getaway to just chill by sun trees, and this was a great spot for that. I really enjoyed working on a puzzle with a hot tea, and cozied up by the space heater. The only thing is I think you have to request that the fridge gets turned on before you stay, and I didn't think to. It was cool, though, because I already planned to eat out and I just kept my water in there. Lol! The shower also works great, and I really enjoyed the little salt lamp.

Weekend Trip to Tambo Ranch Tiny House Village
As much as I’d love to keep this place to myself, I have to echo everyone’s enthusiasm and love for this site.
My partner & I came for a Valentine’s getaway and we stayed in the smaller tiny home. We arrived later in the evening, but directions were easy to follow and the site was well lit with fairy lights which was such a nice touch.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with fresh muffins, eggs from the farm, and a cute little sign. There’s a queen bed at the loft, a full kitchen, and a nice seating area equipped with a TV. It had everything we needed to cook our meals and enjoy mornings in.
A personal bonus: everything was so incredibly clean & I can’t stress this enough! You can definitely tell a lot of care and thought was put into the home to make it as comfortable as possible.
The larger property is beautiful to walk through & it’s what we ended up spending our days doing. There are 3 different sites to stay at on the property - each for different needs and with their own appeals. There are chickens, an alpaca, sheep, cats, and a dog on property & they’re all so friendly!
Carolyn & Julio really made the trip for us - they’re such amazing & accommodating hosts. They gave us the space we needed, but were still easily accessible for any questions we had.
This was my first time ever doing a stay outside of a major city, and this stay made me want to do this again & again. We’ll definitely make this an annual thing! :-)

This place was absolutely perfect for a romantic weekend getaway. Gorgeous property, fantastic owners, excellent amenities, and a great location, rural enough to feel close to nature but close enough to cities like Chico to enjoy urban delights. Owners were generous, accommodating, and very kind. Plus the animals were very nice.

We bought this stay as a gift for my mom and she was absolutely gushing about it when she got home. She told us about all the beautiful touches, the tea, the flowers, and what a thoughtful and beautiful space the tiny house was. She said she felt steeped in rest the entire time, and loved connecting with the hosts as well. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Tambo Ranch Tiny House Village
My wife & I were looking for a quick weekend getaway to work on some financials & planning for the upcoming year. We wanted it to be quiet, close to Sacramento w/WiFi availability & this checked all our boxes! The drive there was easy & scenic. The owner’s directions were accurate & easy to read for when you arrive on the property.
We stayed in the Acreage Tiny home & boy was it a good choice! It rained 24/7 w/high winds, but the tiny home was a dream to be in. The home is very well built, clean, insulated, kept us warm, cozy, & protected from wind the whole time. The bed was super comfortable, the heater worked like a charm, & the full bathroom had strong hot & cold water. We were able to cook all our meals using the electric hotplate & enjoy our coffee/tea by warming up the water w/the kettle provided. The owners left homemade muffins on our arrival. I had to stop myself from eating them all in one day! Absolutely delicious! Make sure to take them up on the carton of eggs that can be pre-ordered. Unfortunately, since it rained the whole time, we were
unable to explore the property, but what we could see from our tiny home was beautiful! You can tell the owners take pride in their land. The landscaping was clean & immaculate!
The cats plus one dog that roam the property are cute, friendly, & always a joy to run into. Technically this was a business trip for us, but it felt like a vacation & we will definitely be coming back. Thank you, Carolyn and Julio for your hospitality!

We had a lovely stay! The mini fridge was pre-stocked with some fresh eggs and apple crumble muffins (not sure but they were delicious!)
The property is gorgeous and there are cute sheep, a llama, chickens and outdoor cats.
The living space is ample and has all the essentials, plus heating in the chilly winter evenings!

Where to go
North Shore
Chester, the largest town in the region, can be found on the north shore of Lake Almanor. Camping options include private campgrounds and RV parks, the PG&E-run Last Chance Campground and forest service Warner Creek, Domingo Springs, and High Bridge campgrounds. Lassen Volcanic National Park is less than 30 miles away, and convenient overnight options include the Warner Valley and Juniper Lake campgrounds. Or find plenty of backcountry options in Lassen National Forest’s Caribou Wilderness nearby.
East Shore
The Lake Almanor Peninsula, which nearly bisects the lake, can be found on the east shore of the lake. Several small communities and residential developments can be found along the shoreline, including Almanor, Hamilton Branch, Bailey Creek, and Foxwood. Several private campgrounds and RV resorts offer overnight options in lakeside and forested settings. Further east inland, find the Mountain Meadows Reservoir, popular with hunters and birdwatchers.
South Shore
Aside from the small community of Canyon Dam, which offers private RV resorts and a boat launch, most of the south shore is undeveloped land or part of the Lassen National Forest. Further south is the Plumas National Forest, which operates several campgrounds near the south shore. PG&E also manages several campgrounds, including Rock Point Campground and Camp Conery. Further south, find the Butt Valley Reservoir and several PG&E-run campgrounds, including the Ponderosa Flat and Cool Springs campgrounds.
West Shore
The west shore is home to the small communities of Lake Almanor West, Almanor, and Prattville, which offer a range of lodging and amenities, including a golf course. A portion of the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway also winds past Lake Almanor’s west shore. Camping options include several private RV resorts, PG&E-run campgrounds, like Rocky Point, and campgrounds within Lassen National Forest, including Almanor, Soldier Meadows, and Hole-in-the-Ground campgrounds.
