The California Pines lodge is 10 miles southwest of Alturas off of Centerville Road and sits next to the 256 acre Cal Pines Lake. The elevation in the Hill Units varies from 5,000 to 6,400 feet. The Hill Units cover an area of 20,000 acres. Within minutes of your new property you will be able to hunt, fish, hike, ride mountain bikes, camp, boat, four wheel drive, snowmobile, ski, golf, wildlife & bird watch, picnic and explore the Modoc National Forest. Also you are just a 90 minute drive from Mt. Shasta ski resort and only about a 3 hour drive from Reno. THE PROPERTY: This beautiful parcel is on Ashley Road in Hill Unit 3. This property is in the Modoc Recreational Estates subdivision in Modoc County. It is about 50 miles south of the California/Oregon border and 30 miles west of the California/Nevada border. It is adjacent to the Modoc National Forest which contains hundreds of miles of trails for exploration and enjoyment. If you enjoy outdoor recreation, Modoc County is a giant playground. Hiking, mountain biking, or horseback riding on mountain trails are spectacular. Opportunities are abundant for those who like to hunt or fish. There are 255 miles of trout streams and many lakes/reservoirs in the area. A 6,000 acre National Wildlife Refuge is just a few miles to the east. For those that choose to watch and enjoy the scenery, on any given day, you may see mustangs, mule deer, antelope, elk, geese, duck, grouse, quail and bald eagles. This lot is located in Modoc Recreational Estates. Roads from Alturas are good....you are only about 4 miles from town! The lot is primarily wooded with native grasses, rock outcroppings and cleared areas....a nice mixture of everything that makes this area special. What sets this lot apart from the others? VIEWS!!! Breathtaking views of the surrounding areas. Please make sure to view the pictures....they really don't do it justice, but they may provide you with a feel for the property. The lot slopes gently uphill from the road....maybe 70 feet from the road to the top of a small ridgeline that flattens out and provides an ideal campsite with spectacular views of the valley and mountains to the south, east and west.
