Back in 2018, when the landwas FIRST acquired, there was only a water spigot and a 14x14 structure that was basically a glorified shed... Now we refer to it as the Gallery Cabin. Its slowly gaining local art work pieces for display and purchasing... Now, ears later, we have created many fun spaces and built many structures for our many hobbies and passions. We have built a small workshop, a rock cutting/shaping/soil mixing area, Shipping Container workshop and decked out a shed with a work station and a long marble counter top. We have built a 3-level tree fort with a crow's nest and a 10x12 screened Bungalow in the woods. This is a great spot to have less chance of bugs at night, still have electricity for Lights and phone charging. We have also created a large garden with 9 beds, using various aspects of Permaculture, including several Hugelculture beds. We created a comfortable and private outside shower in the upper corner of the garden, that is perfect after a long day of having our hands in the soil! (Named the "Flower Shower" as we grow various seasonal flowers, Sage and some beautiful Poppies that can be seen from the shower.) It's now equipped with Propane heat for optional warm showers year long. Because this is Arkansas, and we live at the top of a ridge, our topsoil is mainly clay and rocks... so one of the first endeavors we started was creating a 5 bin mass composting system to build up our soil for our gardens. We found grocery stores and coffee shops to donate hundreds of pounds of old produce and coffee grounds. Since our arrival we have made over 6000+ lbs of beautiful compost and continue to do so today! We are a pet friendly place. We also get rare bookings being a SnifSpot ( Dog Park) But all dogs must be leashed or proven ( caretaker onsite approval) of being off leash trained. The only Exception is Miguel-dog. He has been on the property with us for 3+ years. Very gentle and calm. He usually needs to greet you, then you can be free. He can be separated if need. (Aggressive dogs are NOT allowed. Thanks.) We have a resident, neutered male cat named, Hikari aka "Ari." He is dog friendly. However if your dog chases cats, please keep your dog leashed. We have planted 10 fruit and nut trees and started a 'Berry Orchard'. We also have a small vineyard consisting of about 15 trained Muscadine vines. Closer to the house is a wonderful Herb Spiral that showcases of up to 20 medicinal and cooking herbs and we have a dozen more herbs in the other garden and around our land as well. We also have been planting a food forest outside the garden area, growing PawPaw trees, Gooseberries, Jerusalem Artichokes and Opossum grapes for the critters... so they may leave our actual garden alone, but they can still come close to get a tasty snack. We also built a large chicken coop for 4 egg layer chickens, 4 ducks and 3 guineas that free range our yard during the day. Our numbers vary year to year. There is over a mile plus of trails through our woods, criss-crossing over our seasonal springs that we have built bridges over. Our trails go up and down the mossy topped valleys and ridges with many places to comfortably stop and rest along the way. One aspect about all this that we are extremely proud of, is that we have built 75% or more out of RECLAIMED MATERIALS and RECLAIMED LUMBER (and made it look good!) -- Learn more about this land: -- We are located only 12 miles from I-40, just north of Vilonia. Our Homestead Farm: Barefoot Gardens, is on 8 acres of hardwood forest, where we use various Permaculture techniques to grow over 140+ varieties of various herbs, fruits, vegetables, trees and flowers! The nights here are peaceful and filled with the soothing sounds of treefrogs. Fireflies dance in the night air as the stars peak thru the leaves overhead! (We commonly camp in our own yard for this exact same reason!) Besides multiple camping locations and a beautiful forest, we also host over a dozen Educational Workshops and Homestead Demonstrations! Weekend Trip to Harper Bluff & Numu Coffee Roastery

This was truly the best camping place we’ve ever been to. The views were absolutely stunning, and the campsite itself was perfect for our tent. Robert and Susan went above and beyond to make the experience special. We even got a fun and super interesting coffee lesson (featuring some of the best coffee we’ve ever had), followed by a fresh latte handcrafted by Susan, which was absolutely delicious. Robert even sent my husband back with some of his coffee to share with the guys at the fire station, which meant so much to us. And if that wasn’t enough, they also dropped off homemade sourdough monkey bread, which was nothing short of phenomenal. Robert and Susan are honestly some of the kindest and most thoughtful people we’ve ever met. On top of the amazing views from the campsite, the common area was perfect—especially on the rainy day we had. We were able to relax on the couch with our dogs, stay dry, and still enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. We absolutely loved our time here and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

We had the most AMAZING time at the Huckleberry’s place. They were the most kind and generous hosts we’ve ever had! There were incredible panoramic views of the mountains, swimming in the river and the best lattes we’ve ever had!

We enjoyed ourselves greatly! The campsite was clean and accessible, yet off the beaten path! The trails we gorgeous and the owners were kind and helpful! We will definitely be staying again abs for a longer period of time!

This was one of my favorite campsites of all time! The view from the bluff just a short walk down the hill is amazing! Great for viewing stars at night, too! It’s also nice to have a good shower and toilet available! The campground was full, but there are not many sites, so being able to use the shower/bathroom wasn’t a huge conflict. Robert was an extra kind host, and he brought freshly roasted (and brewed) coffee every morning to the common area! When we requested firewood through the Hip Camp app, he had it for us at our site very quickly. We were really tired and my husband was kind of feeling sick during our stay, so we did not hike on the trail down into the valley. But, we plan to camp here again and hike the trail! We have a pretty large tent (6 person tent) and we were able to fit it on the camp pad! The fire pit and picnic table were also nice additions to our camp life. We also hung up our hammocks over by the bluff and it was an amazing reading spot with a view! We loved everything! This is a great place to get away from the noise and busyness of modern life, but it still has amazing amenities like coffee, a bathroom, AND WiFi. 😄

2 nights at Rocky Creek Ranch Voted Best In St.

We loved camping at Michelle’s land Rocky Creek Campground! The grounds were immaculate and the views were simply spectacular. From the mountains with river view, to the lake view, to the trails. Something for your eyes!!! Michelle and her husband were very nice and welcoming with us. Michelle greeted us at the entry and showed us around. The amenities were great! We camp with a 13ft travel trailer and usually set up our own bathroom/showering tent. However we found the outhouse very charming and fell in love with the outdoor showering rooms! Very quiet and peaceful campsite. Great for star gazing. Campsites are spacious and the lake is something to behold. We cannot wait to book again and spend more time!!!

We stayed here some nights when we first purchased this magnificent property. We fell in love with this view and the almost constant breeze.

Michelle was incredible. This is the second time I’ve been here and both have been an incredible experience. She went out of her way multiple times to make sure we had what we needed. She even took my kids to go see and pet their sheep. Highly recommended for families or even singles.

They were super welcoming, beyond thoughtful, and work hard to provide a great experience for their guests. All of the amenities they have set up for guests make for the most convenient, relaxing camp experience. One of the best’s campsites I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying at. We will be back soon!

Loved it there. It was a last minute booking for me, because my other plan didn't work out. But I am so glad I booked this. Best HipCamp I've visited so far. The view was amazing, the coffee was fantastic, the shower was hot, and the flushing toilet was more than appreciated. Robert and Susan were wonderful hosts. They greeted us at arrival, and made us immediately feel welcomed. They guided us right to our spot, and even got us situated with firewood. My daughter and I absolutely loved our weekend together, and did not want to leave. Coming back to the city stinks. I could have just lived right there on that bluff.

It was my first time tent camping. Was a bit nervous on night one but by night two I was so content. It was beautiful there. I was very thankful that the fire pit came with a griddle already. Ok so back to the first night, I was actually pretty terrified, I was trying to sound tough up above, it was SO dark. The road I had to go down to get to the campsite looked like they wanted me to end it all, but apparently i was just nervous and dramatic. It is steep, it is rocky, DEFINITELY wouldn’t recommend any small cars on that road but it was worth it! The stars were SO beautiful, there were so many, makes me wonder where those stars be hiding at when I look up at the sky at my house🤔 Your camera can not capture the true beauty of that sight so take a mental picture too, and keep it! We were by a creek which was a plus because I love a big body of water. The first night (in my head) it was surely the seen from a horror movie that I survived to be able to tell you that you MUST go experience it for yourself. I finally got to heat up a can of beans on a open fire out in the wood to eat because I was hungry, im not sure if I felt like an accomplished homeless person or the winner of Naked and afraid. Either way it was pretty dope. Oh so if you’re no lumber jack then I suggest you get the bundle of firewood. First night had to fend for myself, It was fun looking for the wood but it was all damp and wouldn’t stay lit. Beautiful scenery, 100/10 recommend, what are you waiting for??

I stayed for my 2nd time in 2 weeks, this weekend. And I plan to go back next weekend, too. It's only about an hour away from home for me, and I enjoy the solitude. Even though this site is fairly close to the road and to someone else's private property, it still is plenty private. It's out in the country, but also only about 15 minutes from food, fuel, and groceries.

We enjoyed our time at Camp Toasty! We were the only ones in the area. This is truly a DIY camp experience. We enjoyed fishing in the river, playing on the playground and hiking around. We plan to return in the future. This was our first Hip Camp experience. We did not receive the bundles of firewood nor could we access the bin at the gate so will likely bring our own next time. Thank you for hosting a wonderful and relaxing experience. On to more adventures!

I was looking for a cool place to solo camp, and I sure found it! I stayed last night, cancelled another reservation at a different place, and reserved my site here again for an additional night! This place is pretty awesome, and I don't want to leave. But, I'll be back soon! There's plenty to explore here, and the host encouraged me to do so. The hogs on the property are neat, too. Both are friendly. The one with the tusks looks scary, but he's a big ol baby. The creek is amazing! But don't try driving down to it in a regular sedan or if you don't know what you're doing. Ive been down there and back 3 times since yesterday in my Subaru Outback, and even that can be tricky. If you try it in a Corolla or something, you're gonna ruin your own day. I haven't figured out how to operate the shower yet, but it has a tankless water heater on it and I could really use a hot shower. But, I'm fine with stinking. Because I love it here. John has been very responsive and has offered some good suggestions of things to do while I'm here! I'd give it a personal 10/10 if I can get that shower, so for now I'll go a solid 8.5/10. If you're not a big baby, you can camp here just fine!

We loved celebrating our anniversary in this beautiful place. At all times we felt very safe, the communication was on point, the hosts were incredibly warm, attentive and very kind to us, even the other people camping at the same time were wonderful. Waking up and seeing a gorgeous sunrise in the middle of these beautiful mountains was a dream. So many comfortable things provided, warm shower, very clean spaces, delicious coffee and you can add in the payment needed stuff for camping in case you’re not prepared like us hehe. We came all the way from Houston and would come again :) Thank you guys for a wonderful anniversary memory!

1 night at Harper Bluff & Numu Coffee Roastery

The Hill Top campsite was great! The site was close to the scenic bluff overlook and we got to watch the sun set. It wasn’t too far from the other camp sites but it still felt private because it had some trees that separated the sites. Robert and Susan were WONDERFUL hosts. They gave clear directions and greeted us with such hospitality when we arrived (and when we departed). It was nice having the shower and toilet in the community area. They also provided fresh-roasted Numu coffee in the Spartan community camper and it was fabulous! And they were so sweet to bring us muffins in the morning. We will definitely be going back and we highly recommend!
