We loved camping at Michelle’s land Rocky Creek Campground! The grounds were immaculate and the views were simply spectacular. From the mountains with river view, to the lake view, to the trails. Something for your eyes!!! Michelle and her husband were very nice and welcoming with us. Michelle greeted us at the entry and showed us around. The amenities were great! We camp with a 13ft travel trailer and usually set up our own bathroom/showering tent. However we found the outhouse very charming and fell in love with the outdoor showering rooms! Very quiet and peaceful campsite. Great for star gazing. Campsites are spacious and the lake is something to behold. We cannot wait to book again and spend more time!!!

We stayed here some nights when we first purchased this magnificent property. We fell in love with this view and the almost constant breeze.

It was my first time tent camping. Was a bit nervous on night one but by night two I was so content. It was beautiful there. I was very thankful that the fire pit came with a griddle already. Ok so back to the first night, I was actually pretty terrified, I was trying to sound tough up above, it was SO dark. The road I had to go down to get to the campsite looked like they wanted me to end it all, but apparently i was just nervous and dramatic. It is steep, it is rocky, DEFINITELY wouldn’t recommend any small cars on that road but it was worth it! The stars were SO beautiful, there were so many, makes me wonder where those stars be hiding at when I look up at the sky at my house🤔 Your camera can not capture the true beauty of that sight so take a mental picture too, and keep it! We were by a creek which was a plus because I love a big body of water. The first night (in my head) it was surely the seen from a horror movie that I survived to be able to tell you that you MUST go experience it for yourself. I finally got to heat up a can of beans on a open fire out in the wood to eat because I was hungry, im not sure if I felt like an accomplished homeless person or the winner of Naked and afraid. Either way it was pretty dope. Oh so if you’re no lumber jack then I suggest you get the bundle of firewood. First night had to fend for myself, It was fun looking for the wood but it was all damp and wouldn’t stay lit. Beautiful scenery, 100/10 recommend, what are you waiting for??

I stayed for my 2nd time in 2 weeks, this weekend. And I plan to go back next weekend, too. It's only about an hour away from home for me, and I enjoy the solitude. Even though this site is fairly close to the road and to someone else's private property, it still is plenty private. It's out in the country, but also only about 15 minutes from food, fuel, and groceries.

We enjoyed our time at Camp Toasty! We were the only ones in the area. This is truly a DIY camp experience. We enjoyed fishing in the river, playing on the playground and hiking around. We plan to return in the future. This was our first Hip Camp experience. We did not receive the bundles of firewood nor could we access the bin at the gate so will likely bring our own next time. Thank you for hosting a wonderful and relaxing experience. On to more adventures!

I was looking for a cool place to solo camp, and I sure found it! I stayed last night, cancelled another reservation at a different place, and reserved my site here again for an additional night! This place is pretty awesome, and I don't want to leave. But, I'll be back soon! There's plenty to explore here, and the host encouraged me to do so. The hogs on the property are neat, too. Both are friendly. The one with the tusks looks scary, but he's a big ol baby. The creek is amazing! But don't try driving down to it in a regular sedan or if you don't know what you're doing. Ive been down there and back 3 times since yesterday in my Subaru Outback, and even that can be tricky. If you try it in a Corolla or something, you're gonna ruin your own day. I haven't figured out how to operate the shower yet, but it has a tankless water heater on it and I could really use a hot shower. But, I'm fine with stinking. Because I love it here. John has been very responsive and has offered some good suggestions of things to do while I'm here! I'd give it a personal 10/10 if I can get that shower, so for now I'll go a solid 8.5/10. If you're not a big baby, you can camp here just fine!

Weekend Trip to Buffalo River Hideaway

Such a pretty and peaceful place. We tent camped so I don’t know about the RV sites, but it was very easy to drive to in our non-4wd junky SUV and tiny trailer loaded with our stuff. The campsite was clean and has a little shed with fans and a solar charger we used for our phones and we cooked on our propane grill in there as well. Theres a nice fire pit with benches and a table n chairs with an umbrella and Shay had lots of firewood available. The porta potty was super clean and we just used the hose to shower with and wash dishes. Also a huuuuuge somewhat enclosed grassy area if you have dogs. Shay was more than gracious and an amazing host. I highly recommend and would return if in the area again.

Our stay at Buffalo River Hideaway was absolutely wonderful! Shay has created such a peaceful, quiet, and enjoyable place to relax in the country, while also being close to everything you’d want to explore on the Buffalo National River. With easy access to several spots on the river and Tomahawk Creek nearby, the location couldn’t be better. One of the things we appreciated most was the convenience Shay provides for campers. The porta john allowed us to comfortably extend our stay—twice! Having potable water and a hose long enough to connect made things even easier. It’s clear that Shay has put a lot of thought into making the space functional and welcoming. We also loved the shed with solar-powered fans, which worked perfectly as our outdoor kitchen. We set up our Blackstone griddle along with other cooking utensils and felt completely comfortable leaving them there unsecured. It was such a handy addition that made cooking easy and enjoyable. The property itself is spacious and fenced in, which was a huge bonus for us traveling with our Chocolate Lab, Cora. She had plenty of room to run and play, and we had peace of mind knowing she was safe within the fenced area. It truly made the stay more relaxing for all of us. Shay is a thoughtful and accommodating host, and Buffalo River Hideaway feels like a hidden gem. If you’re looking for a quiet, country getaway with all the essentials plus quick access to the Buffalo, this is the perfect spot. We will definitely be back!

Shay is a reputable and reliable host, and Buffalo River Hideaway had everything we needed for our trip to the Buffalo National River. The spot was easily accessible with our 25-foot travel trailer, and the completely fenced property gave us peace of mind with both our Chocolate Lab and our orange tabby cat. We especially enjoyed the shed with solar-powered fans, which made a perfect outdoor kitchen for our Blackstone griddle. Shay has even provided games like checkers and horseshoes, adding a fun touch to the stay. The location is ideal—close to several access points on the Buffalo National River and Tomahawk Creek, yet only about 45 minutes from Harrison, where you’ll find all the amenities you could possibly need. Buffalo River Hideaway is peaceful, convenient, and thoughtfully set up. We left feeling refreshed and grateful, and we’ll definitely be back!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Incredible Stay at Rocky Creek Ranch! Our stay at Rocky Creek Ranch, hosted by Michelle, was nothing short of amazing. The views of Harper’s Cove on Greer’s Ferry Lake are absolutely breathtaking — the kind that make you stop and just soak it all in. We brought our 25-foot travel trailer and had zero issues getting in or out. The site offered plenty of space, giving us room to spread out and relax. Michelle has thought of everything for campers’ comfort: clean showers with very hot water, towels provided, and even extra touches that make the experience feel special. One of the highlights was their beautiful man-made lake with crystal-clear water. We enjoyed the paddleboards and kayaks, and the nicely built floating dock — complete with a tiki bar-style umbrella and seating area — made for the perfect spot to unwind. Michelle was an incredibly accommodating host, making sure we had everything we needed. We couldn’t have asked for a better camping experience and will definitely be back!

Lovely, well care for spacious property with lake view and a private pond. Easy place for campers who seek privacy to find it here. Host was welcoming upon arrival and appreciated the helpful communication. Just two miles down the road found an old boat ramp that some people continue to use and place to access the lakes shoreline.

1 night at Buffalo River Hideaway

can’t say enough great things about this campsite — it was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and completely at ease. The grounds were beautifully maintained, with plenty of space to offer both privacy and peace. Nature was all around us and a stunning view that made every sunrise and sunset feel magical. The amenities were top-notch for a campground. Hospitality was heartfelt. We will be returning.

Weekend Trip to Buffalo River Hideaway

We only stayed for a brief time but even before we got to the campsite they were so sweet and accommodating! The set up was so perfect, loved the covered area for the tent and the super convenient set up to help with grilling and dinner! Even had the cutest little games tables set up next to the tent! 20/10!! We will absolutely be back to enjoy their little slice of heaven again! Thank y'all for checking off a bucket list for us!
