Sitting in the middle of an 850 acre nature preserve, you will have plenty of privacy to enjoy a getaway in the woods without being disturbed by other campers. This site is relatively flat and easy to access on the edge of a field along the tree line of the forest. You may notice old stone chimneys standing throughout the woods where cabins once stood, back when Lake Frances was a resort area in the 1920s. On this camp site, we have a Micro Cabin that is wired for a generator (not provided) that sleeps 2, or bring your own tent and enjoy the view of the stars. We have several private campsites sprinkled throughout the forest reserve for you to stay at as you enjoy the Illinois River, hike, or bike the trails. The mountain bike trails run very close to this site and the White Water Park is about 2 miles down the gravel road. The trailhead for the paved bike trail is around the corner from this campsite and goes all the way down to WOKA.
