The home was built by my parents in ‘82. My Mom was an avid hiker and outdoors person. She collected and planted agave pups in the yard and tended to them over the years. Because they’re watered and the pups are removed each spring they continue to grow to mammoth size.
Once they bloom the plant dies. 3 have bloomed, producing 40’ stalks.

The property is 4 miles from the town of patagonia, just 2 miles in from highway 82. Patagonia lake state park is 9 miles away. We stayed for 2 nights and then stayed 2 more because this is pretty much our dream spot. Mountain views, privacy, off the beaten path yet just an easy bike ride into town. Plus having an outhouse available to us really makes van life easier. We love it here!

The character of Claudia and Brian is unsurpassed. Without asking they became our rock and helped us get through an intense crisis. The site itself gives off the vibes of the Serengeti. The world evaporates once you set back and let the silence penetrate your body. The amenities are top notch. You will not be disappointed with your stay.

100% amazing! Gorgeous views, very, very quiet and private. The night skies are stunning! Claudia and Brian have done so much to make this spot absolutely awesome. There is a gazebo, two fire pits, firewood for sale, a really nice private bathroom with shower. Full hook ups or total boondock, you will love this spot.

We wanted someplace quiet and peaceful. We found it at Thousand Oaks. Steve and Cindy were fantastic hosts. Cindy recommended a hike nearby and it was a beautiful, fun little jaunt. The night sky was beautiful and did I mention, it was quiet!

My favorite things about camping here was that it was peaceful, quiet and the perfect spot for stargazing. It feels like you are far away from everything and everybody yet there is so much to see and do within a short drive. Claudia was attentive and ensured that we had everything needed. Having full hook-ups, internet and so much space all to ourselves felt quite luxurious!

This is a classic southwestern rustic property with original adobe, modern amenities if you enjoy a shower with a view, movie theatre popcorn, microwave, sink, loaner bikes to get into Patagonia a short distance away and much more. Most of all, the space has an easy going owner, partner and resident pup and cat. It provides for a wonderful home base from which to explore the area’s hiking, biking, water activities and birding. I’ll be back!

What a perfect spot! Full electric and sewage hookup, and beautiful views. I short scenic drive away from Arivaca lake, and close to town if you need anything. Claudia and her husband are more than welcoming, and helped me in the rain when I needed it! I can’t wait to return!!
