Meadview Arizona was founded in 1826 by Jedediah Smith on his Southwest Expedition in search for Beaver! Staying a small remote and quiet town it can feel like it would have in the Wild West.
We obtained our campground from a couple that owned it for 20 years but just weren't able to do to it what they had originally planned.. So it was essentially a blank canvas for us to create!!&nbsp;We are the closest town to the Grand Canyon SKYWALK, which is just 40 minutes from us. Meadview, the town we are located, is the only place to obtain Free Entree to the Lake Mead Recreational Center. &nbsp;Our Campground just 10 miles from Lake Mead and 17 Miles from the Colorado River. &nbsp;We have outstanding Lookouts, Top notch Stargazing, Gold Prospecting, Bird Watching, Fishing, Off Roading etc.
Some of the Best Desert Off-Roading through trails within the Joshua Tree National Forest, Please note you must bring your own OHV, horse, etc, there is currently no rentals available. &nbsp;We do have Kayaks to rent upon arrival. There is a hidden water fall in the Grapevine Wash that you can get to with a 4 wheel vehicle and you hike in about 15 minutes in. Stunning views and gorgeous natural spring and waterfall.
We are 45 minutes off the 93 Freeway
Free WIFI provided at the office!.. &nbsp;The town doesn't always have a powerful signal, please keep that in mind in your travels. &nbsp;However, if you have&nbsp;Verizon, it&nbsp;gets GREAT service!
There are three restaurants in town, all just one mile from site... The Boathouse, Anchor Smokehouse and Fishermans Landing Bar. &nbsp;We have a Bakery called Rosemary and Thyme that serves Delicious foods & Pastries&nbsp;and makes great coffees. &nbsp;There is also&nbsp;a Gas n Grub that has ice, propane etc... 5 miles away is a Family Dollar store which we lovingly call the "Mall of Meadview"

Meadview RV Park

Our park is located just twenty-six miles from the West Rim of the Grand Canyon and is the closest RV Park to the Grand Canyon Overlook, home to the world-famous "Skywalk." It is conveniently located near Lake Mead,  one of the largest man-made reservoirs in the United States. While you are here at Meadview RV Park you can take advantage of all the available water sports and outdoor activities.

Pitch your tent in the Mohave desert adjacent to the historic Silver mining district of White Hills or park your RV at our designated RV&nbsp;campsite.&nbsp; End each day with amazing sunset views.&nbsp;We have Joshua trees, Mesquite trees, yucca and barrel cactus  on the property. Just 4 miles off of Interstate Highway 93 and the new I-11. Close to Willow Beach, Temple Bar / Lake Mead and the West Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Jackalope Crossing

This Area is high desert,  It is on top of the Grand wash Cliffs.  About 5000ft elevation so a little cooler. There are Joshua trees and Juniper trees.  It is a nice area to ride or hike around and explore..  It is about 5.5 miles in, up the road behind the Grand Canyon Glamping Resort.  The dirt roads are not too bad.  High clearence recommended.  We Usually see Wildlife, Pronghorn Antelope and Mule Deer.  There are Often also cattle grazing in the area.  There is a view of meadview, lake Mead , And Vegas at night,  from atop the grand wash cliff about a mile NW and of Part of Grand Canyon 2 miles up the road and a short walk (a couple hundred yards), i would have to send you a GPS pin for that spot.

Our phone usually seem to be able to get service up there.  It is common for Grand Canyon tour helicopters to pass low overhead.

Lake Mead Overlook - Meadview

Purchased this land for my father who loved living on his own in stark conditions. The property literally came with a shack on it.&nbsp;He loved shifting for gold with one of the neighbors in the desert up the road. He has since passed and the shack was torn down due to normal wear making it unstable.Me and my wife plan to put a home on it in the future, but felt it would be nice to allow adventurous types to stay on the property for the cheap.Learn more about this land:(Directions at bottom of description)The property is up on a hill surrounded on 2 sides (W/N) by BLM land with an overlook of Lake Mead. Just 10 miles from lake access (downhill) inside Lake Mead recreational area. Also, about 9 miles from Grand Canyon West access point. The property once had a shack on it, which is now gone - some remnants remain. But, there are flat drive areas in which to park (RV ok) and/or tent camp. Property is a little rough, but the views are gorgeous! From the property you can see Lake Mead, the west wall of the Grand Canyon, and an overlook of the town of Meadview. There are other residents in the area, but are far away, but visible (it is a desert). But, the property is absolutely quiet and peaceful.There is no electric, water, or facilities - so, it is primitive (or self-contained) camping. There is a fire-ring, but you must bring your own wood. There is some limited shopping and restaurants in town (Meadview or Dolan Springs) and on the main road (Pierce Ferry). We plan to build on the property in the future, but wish to share it with others until then. Juniper tree camp

Few People experience this Place.  If you don't have four wheel drive or do not want branches touching your vehicles paint you will not be going here.   It is very near the Grand Canyon west five miles up into a mountain valley called Iron Springs Basin.  Behind  The Grand Canyon western ranch.  There is one ranch road leading in that passes through private and public lands.  Please leave any gates as you found them.  The area is generally thick scrub brush.  Part of the road is rough and poorly maintained, including driving up a wash, and some jeep trail.  Seriously not for the faint of heart. Copy and paste,   35.813200, -114.0095897  into google maps.
