Come pitch a tent or hang your hammock between the beautiful hardwoods. We currently have primitive tent camping that can easily fit 4-5 tents or hammock camping. Both options sit alongside Sofkahatchee creek. We have 15 acres of untouched forest to wonder through and help you reconnect with mother nature. It’s my favorite spot for meditation and grounding. The sky is amazingly dark around here and stargazing would be at the top of my list of things I love about the property. This area is full of wildlife. Raccoons, deer, turkey, possums, armadillo, snakes, and even bears. I haven’t personally ran in to any bears but they have been sited. So, who knows what you will befriend while in the wild. The camping areas are very private. It’s part of a 50 acre lot that has recently been cleared and in the process of reseeding and preparing for a pond and farm life. So, sorry if you run in to anything that isn’t picturesque but your camp site will be beautiful and peaceful. AMENITIES: We want your stay to be as comfortable as possible! For an additional cost, we offer amenities such as tents, towels, bug deterrent, firewood, fire starters, hand warmers, s’mores kits, camping toilet, gold panning kit, games and more. Our little town of Wetumpka is only 9 miles down the road. It was featured on HGTV's Hometown Takeover in 2021, was featured in the movie Big Fish and is a picture perfect town, with many locally owned shops and restaurants. It's located right on the Coosa River, where you can kayak/canoe (coosariveradventures.com), launch your boat or fish year round at Gold State Park which also has a fantastic play area for kids with a nice walking trail that goes along the river. Stop in at Coosa River Craft House or Coosa Cleaver for refreshing adult beverages and live music. Look for the Big Fish house. It's the big white house on the hill. We are 9 miles from Lake Jordan and 11 miles from Lake Martin. Fort Toulouse National Historic Park is 25 minutes away. There you can tour over 6,000 years of history. You can tour the French and American Forts or the Mississippian Indian Mound site, or just relax and take a walk along the trails. https://fttoulousejackson.org/ Just 15 minutes east of us is Swayback Bridge https://www.riverregionmtb.org/swayback-bridge-trail. There are five loop trials available, ranging from 1 miles to 11.2 miles. You can hike or bike them. The bridge is 290 feet long and goes over Lake Jordan. Wind Creek Casino Wetumpka is 10 miles and Montgomery location is only 16 miles from our property, if you want to chance your luck with some gaming. We are 20 miles from Montgomery, which is jam packed with civil rights historical sites, museums, a zoo, fabulous restaurants, a riverboat cruise on the Alabama River, a sip and cycle pedal boat cruise

Description: The property is 75 feet wide and stretches 210 feet back from the road. Shaded with trees, flat, plenty of room for pitching a tent. The driveway clearing large enough for a car plus camper or RV. I don't have dimensions, but use the pictures of my Jeep for reference. For now, you must decide if your rig will fit. The driveway ground is hard, but there isn't any gravel on the drive yet, so be mindful of parking during rain or soggy conditions. There is a fire ring and a few chairs to enjoy socializing or plenty of trees to hang a hammock and relax. Basically a quiet place to relax, in an undeveloped neighborhood, and pretend you are in a backcountry tent site, 6 minutes from Dollar General :) War Eagle!

There are flower beds, flowering trees, bushes and wildflowers scattered among the property. If you come at the right time of year, you'll see all the beautiful blooms. We also have wild blackberries, blueberry bushes and scuppernong vines. Feel free to forage on those while you're with us. There is a lot of wildlife you could potentially see while staying here such as squirrels, chipmunks, beautiful birds of all kinds, lots of butterflies, owls, red tailed hawks, armadillos, racoons and even foxes. After a heavy rain, you will hear our small creek trickling. We have unlimited tent camping sites, with access to a water hose only. They are located down the hill, to the back of our property. Our one back in pad is located house. 30 foot maximum length rig. We also have one boondocking gravel pad available, with no hookups, that is located across the driveway from our house. Quiet hours are from 10pm until 6am. Absolutely no discharging of firearms allowed at any time. Alcohol is permitted, for those 21 and older, as long as the noise level and behavior don't become a nuisance. There will be no tolerance for use of illegal drugs. Dogs are allowed as long as they aren't aggressive and not allowed to roam outside of our property. Please be sure to clean up after them. Our cute, quaint little town of Wetumpka is only 5 miles down the road. Quiet hours are from 10pm until 6am. Absolutely no discharging of firearms allowed at any time. Alcohol is permitted, for those 21 and older, as long as the noise level and behavior don't become a nuisance. There will be no tolerance for use of illegal drugs. Dogs are allowed as long as they aren't aggressive and not allowed to roam outside of our property. Please be sure to clean up after them. Our cute, quaint little town of Wetumpka is only 5 miles down the road. It was featured on HGTV's Hometown Takeover in 2021, was featured in the movie Big Fish and is a picture perfect town, with many locally owned shops and restaurants. It's located right on the Coosa River, where you can kayak in the summer, launch your boat or fish year round. There's also a fantastic park with a nice walking trail that goes along the river. Stop in at Coosa River Craft House or Coosa Cleaver for refreshing adult beverages and live music. Look for the Big Fish house. It's the big white house on the hill. We are 10 minutes from Lake Jordan and 30 from Lake Martin. Fort Toulouse National Historic Park is 15 minutes away. There you can tour over 6,000 years of history. You can tour the French and American Forts or the Mississippian Indian Mound site, or just relax and take a walk along the trails. Just ten minutes north of us is Swayback Bridge. There are five loop trials available, ranging from 1 miles to 11.2 miles. You can hike or bike them. The bridge is 290 feet long and does over Lake Jordan. There are many festivals that happen throughout the year in our cute little town, including the Mardi Gras Festival and Galentine's in Feb., Coosa Palooza Brewfest in April, the River and Blues Music and Arts Festival in July, the Coosa Candy Crawl in Oct., and Christmas on the Coosa in Dec. Wind Creek Casino is only 6 miles from our property, if you want to chance your luck with some gaming. We are 20 miles from Montgomery, which is jam packed with civil rights historical sites, museums, a zoo, fabulous restaurants, a riverboat cruise on the Alabama River, a sip and cycle pedal boat cruise, and a white water rafting park.

My husband and I had the best time celebrating the long holiday weekend at hideaway cove. We were able to bring our senior dog and were so impressed with the layout and everything that was provided. We slept comfortably even in chillier weather, and made sure to take advantage of the canoe. The lake was gorgeous and we fell in love with the area. I definitely recommend!

This was a perfect place for a quick overnight camp after kayaking on the Coosa river at Wetumpka, AL (about 12 minute drive). Campsite overlooking the creek was nice and included a fire pit. The county road was about a quarter mile away so you could hear a car passing every so often but you couldn't see them. Very private. I would stay there again.

Weekend Trip to Kick Back Ranch and Event Center
We had a two week trip planned in our campervan, with a multiple day stop in the Montgomery area at the midpoint of our trip and so decided to book three nights in Wagon Wheel Suite III of the Kickback Ranch in Ramer. We’re SO glad we stayed at this peaceful spot! We were the only ones staying in the cottage/cabin area, so we seemed to have this beautiful part of the property to ourselves. The suite is a stand-alone building with a kitchenette (full stove, fridge and sink), full bath and sleeping/living open space that included a queen and bunk beds. There is a very nice balcony off the back of the suite, which overlooks one of the ponds on the property. The suite accommodations were very comfortable, the ranch staff super friendly and we found it so convenient to be able to do our laundry two buildings away from our suite. During our April stay the grounds were peaceful and relaxing, while also including a spacious dog area for exercising our pooches! On the last day of our stay we brought our van to the RV area to dump our grey water and fill our water tank. The RV area is clean, level and the gravel surface is well kept. It seemed to be quite a lively and popular place for many to stay. We highly recommend the Kickback Ranch, less than half an hour from many of the sites in Montgomery!
