This was our first time in a travel trailer so needed somewhere that had easy facilities. We didn't think we would find anywhere since it was Labor Day weekend, but then found River Ridge. The campground is very easy to get to and each site is a pull through. The grounds are very well kept, sites clean and level. Bathrooms were spotless. They had water slides for the kids and bingo for the adults. Will definitely visit here again.

If you love all things nature this is definitely the spot to be. I highly recommend camp T it’s a little ways in the back but that’s what makes it great. It was very relaxing & quiet when we stayed. Along with that there’s a creek/stream behind the campsite that is so serene. Waking up in the morning and taking a dip in the swimming hole part was the best part/feeling. As well as hearing the stream’s beautiful water sounds. There’s so much to explore along the creek line. Upon arrival they give you firewood which is such a big plus in the experience here! They have a picnic table & firepit at every campsite in camp T . 100/10 recommend . I will definitely be back:)

We recently spent the weekend at this campground and had a truly relaxing and peaceful experience. If you're looking for a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle, this place is perfect. The sites were well-spaced, allowing for privacy and minimal noise from neighbors. It was so refreshing to wake up to the sound of birds instead of traffic!
The surroundings were beautifully maintained, with lots of trees providing shade and a sense of seclusion. The staff was friendly and helpful without being intrusive.
Whether you're camping solo, as a couple, or with family, this is a great spot to unwind and recharge. We spent our days reading, walking nearby trails, driving along the lake's winding roads, and enjoying the calm atmosphere.

For us it was an enjoyable experience. It is located near a bike trail on TVA property that is absolutely beautiful. The campground itself was small and quaint exactly what we wanted. The host were responsive and very nice. Our camp spot was level with great connection through our Verizon provider for a hotspot. There is not a lake view here or clear access from the campground to the water. But there are several boat ramps in the area. However, we came for the bike ride and local trails. Our doodle also enjoyed the freedom and the wildlife. Check out Murphy Hill if you like horseback riding or biking while you are in the area. We will be back!

The property was clean and not directly off of a main road. I think I heard one vehicle the whole time I was there. The owner greeted me and let me know some of the details about the property and then left me to my solitude. Would gladly stay here again.

Huntsville Surrounds
It's easy to get outdoors in Huntsville without even leaving because there are camping sites within the city limits. Go hiking, biking, rock climbing, or explore the extensive cave system at Monte Sano State Park, and then take advantage of the picnic areas at lunchtime. Go paddling in the Flint River, or back-in to Ditto Landing to launch a boat into the Tennessee River. Lake Guntersville State Park
About an hour southeast of Huntsville lies Alabama's largest lake, which is ideal for boating, fishing, and swimming. Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge
Take a 30-minute trip southwest on I-565 to explore this wintering area for migratory birds. Hikers and bikers will enjoy exploring the miles of trails, while anglers can rent a boat or bring their own to catch bass, catfish, and crappie. Visitors can also enjoy the lake's serene waters by kayaking, paddleboarding, or swimming.
Little River Canyon National Preserve
In the rugged terrain of northeastern Alabama, the preserve is home to one of the deepest canyons east of the Mississippi River. Find hiking trails leading to breathtaking waterfalls and natural pools. The river also allows for kayaking and fishing. In addition to its natural beauty, the preserve has evidence of early human habitation dating back over 10,000 years. Picnic areas are also available if you need to take a rest.
