Coppice Hill
2 sites · Lodging14 acres · Malvern, WorcestershireCoppice Hill is a nine acre working wood and a five acre field lying to the east of the Malvern Hills, bordered by a small brook. The wood is on a south facing hill with sweeping views of the Malverns from the top. It's protected from the road by our field of willow (for baskets and cricket bats!) and cider apple and plum orchards, which are surrounded by long grass and wild flowers for most of the year. We have two cabins, which each sleep six. The Oaks sits at the top of the wood, semi-surrounded by trees but looking across to the Malverns. The Birches sits at the bottom of the wood completely surrounded by trees and very well hidden. We can accept up to four more people camping with each cabin - please contact us if you want to bring tents as well. The Oaks has a wood fired hot tub with views to the Malvern Hills (Birches does not) Both cabins have shower rooms indoors and compost loos just outside. We are trying to manage the site consciously and promote wildlife diversity, so we ask you to use the eco toiletries and cleaning products we provide. For the same reasons, we're sorry but we cannot accept pets. Coppice Hill is situated near the Malvern Hills and Three Counties Showground. The wood feels very private and sheltered from the outside world, although it isn't totally silent due to being on the outskirts of a busy village. There is a lot to do in the area - Malvern is a great little town and the hills are wonderful for walking, as are the nearby commons. Upton, on the river, offers boat trips and riverside walks. But it's also really nice just to hang about in a hammock in the wood, to stop and identify the wildlife you're sharing it with, even weave or whittle something. It's a working wood so Charlie, the woodsman, is there most days, woodworking, willow weaving... general woodland stuff. Please ask him about whittling and weaving tools and materials if you want to have a go!
