A Rocky Mountain Glamping Experience!

Enjoy our new mountain getaway in a luxury 10' x 12' Frontier canvas wall tent, at your secluded, private campsite. Experience Colorado like the first settlers, gold miners and explorers but with comfort of modern conveniences. Step into National Geographic Experiences.

Towering rock outcroppings surround you in our private Bliss Canyon, the stream lulls you to sleep, the birds serenade you in the morning. Bliss Pond or the Heart Pool will tempt you with a bracing dip in crystal clear waters. Explore the surrounding national forest or kick back and try some fishing or simply relaxing in camp. (See separate listings to reserve Bliss Camp in Sapphira or Shimza Gypsy Wagon.)

The Frontier tent is equipped with a queen-size bed for 2, complete bedding provided, and plenty of floor space for your calm dog. Extra campers can be accommodated on full-size folding mattress with bedding when requested. The site is snuggled next to picturesque Lichen Rock, with picnic table, and private old west style, open air kitchen, solar lights to add to the cozy ambiance, and your very own private porta-potty.

Relax in your private canyon overlooking the valley or head up challenging Moose Track trail to Balancing Rock. After your day of adventure or kicking back enjoy a hot shower (not available after we have freezing night temperatures). Share your revelations of the day around the campfire, roast marshmallows, or relish your favorite beverage or 4:20 treat (outside only please).

Kitchen has sink, fresh, potable water, kitchenware—pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc, BBQ with side burner, critter-resistant food safe, bear-proof trash can, and picnic table outside. We provide a convenient propane campfire for safety since our climate is dry and often windy. No candles please.

There are easy trails on property along the lush stream (the original riverbed of the Middle Saint Vrain Stream), fishing or swimming in the pond (no lifeguard on duty), or challenging trails into Roosevelt National Forest from the property. (Ask Hiker Dot for guidance.) Several National Forest access points, where you can enjoy peaceful walks away from crowds, are a short drive.

Bliss Canyon is a spur off of breathtaking South Saint Vrain Canyon. Stroll on over to the South or Middle for renowned fly fishing. For climbers, there are over 50 climbs in South Saint Vrain Canyon!

Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the five Crown Jewels of the National Park Service, is nearby. The closest trailhead in RMNP is 10 miles, the next trailhead at Wild Basin National Park is 13 miles, and the Beaver Meadows entrance (main entrance) is 36 miles.Rocky Mountain National Park has breathtaking drives, easy strolls with interpretive signs, and 360 miles of trails. (Advance reservation required for entry 9:00 am to 3:00 pm or 5:00 am to 6:00 pm for Bear Lake corridor.)

Indian Peaks Wilderness also has several nearby access points and trailheads. Ask for details.

Let the world melt away; there is no wifi or cell service. In the event of urgent need, come to our home up the hill and ring the bell.

The charming town of Lyons is 20 minutes away with coffee shops, restaurants, bars, library with free wifi, and quaint shops*.

Dot and Byron look forward to hosting you in our spectacular Rocky Mountain Paradise.

Dot & Byron are a lovely couple with a lovely property and great set up. The place was just as expected, the bed was very comfortable, and there was plenty to do around camp! Couldn't recommend this spot enough and we'll definitely be back!

Bliss Camp was 1000% MAGICAL. It can't possibly get much better than to have your own private stream, be surrounded by forest, and light hiking all around your tent. The outdoor kitchen and hot shower were amazing. We cannot wait to come back.

We had a lovely time hiking and sitting by the tranquil ponds. The camp atmosphere was a tasteful mix of nature and whimsy and our hosts were extremely kind and interested in our well being. Everything was really wonderful, especially the outdoor shower, the camp kitchen (which was very well appointed) and the tent itself. We called it "The Palace,"

Dot and Bryon were the most amazing hosts! My partner and I had a wonderful time visiting from Chicago. It was as if the rest of the world didn’t exist and we were on our own private mountain. There isn’t much else I can say that hasn’t already been mentioned in previous reviews. We’re looking forward to returning next year with friends in tow! Thanks for a great experience, Dot and Byron!

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Dot and Byron's Frontier Tent at Bliss Camp. Everything about our stay was perfect. We had so much fun. The tent was awesome, super cute, and the bed was very comfortable. We had a blast cooking in the outdoor kitchen. Dot and Byron's property is truly unique with many opportunities for exploring. Taking a hot shower after soaking in the freezing cold streams and pools on the property was the cherry on top! We are already planning a trip to go back

Dot & Byron's Frontier Tent Glamping, Bliss Camp was a wonderful little getaway. Many little paths and rocks to explore right there on the property, their little creek and ponds on the property were great serene spaces. The tent was far enough away from the other camps and the house that it felt private enough. Dot and Byron each checked on us at least once to makes sure we didn't need anything. They also made sure we had enough filtered well water to keep us going with hydration and keeping the kitchen clean to deter the wild animals and critters, which we never saw. Ok, maybe one little mouse one time, but that is expected when you're outside. Dot was great, upon request by us she sat and shared with us all her knowledgable info on hikes in the area. It confirmed what my partner had researched and more! She recommended a drive up the Old Fall River Rd to catch the sunset and it was spectacular, thank you. One of my favorite parts of the camp was the outdoor kitchen. It made making meals so easy, it was a great area to hang out in during cooking, and watching the morning light come in and across it made for good coffee sipping in the mornings. You can even turn the mood lighting off at camp to watch the stars from the tent's porch, which is big enough to lay out a blanket, pad and pillows for two for the cozy gazing. Definitely will want to glamp it up here again as my basecamp to the Rockies and more!!
Thanks Dot and Byron!

An evening stroll and a stop on a foot bridge crossing the little creek that strolls around and through Bliss Camp.Lookout point coming down from the peak of Old Fall River Road. This picture does not capture the vastness you look out on as you stand as close as you can to the edge of our little planet and edge of our expansive and never ending universe.Looking out at the views from one of many lookouts just a short hike from camp.

We absolutely loved staying here!! My husband and I had a chance to stay on both sides of camp, and both were great. Safe, cozy, comfy, clean, and truly off the grid. Great hiking straight from camp with perfect little swimming holes close by. Dot and Byron really know and love their mountain home--we had all the amenities and information we could have needed, and some priceless local recommendations. I could have happily hung out at camp all day, reading on the various rocks, finding different views, cooking as much as I wanted in the legit kitchen, and chilling in the hammock. But this location is also super convenient to Rocky Mountain National Park and other cute towns and great hiking nearby.
Honestly, if you're coming to the Rocky Mountains, this is the perfect place to be IN the Rocky Mountains.
