Basecamp Pagosa

On our trip through norther New Mexico, southern Colorado we spent the night at Basecamp Pagosa. The scenery was beautiful, the site was clean, comfortable and quiet. Instructions were very helpful, great communication with James. We noticed some construction - improvements to the property that will only make this an even better experience. 5 star recommendation, I would be happy to visit Basecamp again!

Beautiful campground

Jim met us when we arrived and was very friendly and helpful. You can tell he's putting in a lot of hard work to make his place even nicer for everyone. Can't wait to come again and see his bathhouse when it's complete. Would highly recommend. Nice and quiet and level spots not to far from downtown. Thanks again.

Other campers let their dogs run off leash. This caused our dog to bark. Then the camp host hollered at us. Our dog only barked a couple minutes. He could have came up and talked to us. Would have been better.

Large space in a quiet campground close to the center of Pagosa Springs. Full hookups at a reasonable price. Beautiful laundry and showers currently being built. Owner was friendly and amenable to our late check out. Would definitely book again.

I really enjoyed this site! We had our dog with us and she loved running around the meadow that was behind our site. Very quiet and a great basecamp so we could explore the area. It was our first visit and won't be our last. We originally reserved the spot for 2 nights and added an extra night because we were so relaxed.

Nice forested camp close to Pagosa Springs with access right off Hwy 160. The link for directions send us down Pike Dr, which we followed but had to turn around, go back out to the Hwy and turn left just east of a red house (there is also a real estate style sign that shows "Pagosa Basecamp"). Dark and quiet, we really enjoyed our stay. A new bathroom/shower building is under construction.

Nice quiet place with full hookups in Pagosa Springs. We got a spot in the pine grove with view of the mountains. Conveniently located to town and the hot springs. Definitely recommend staying in this camp!

Such a great location. So close to town and everything you will need to access. The campground has trees and is a little further set back from the road. There is some road noise, but it is pretty quiet during the actual night. It just picks up in the morning. James, the owner, is super nice and has great recommendations about the area too. We would 100% stay here again.

The campground and specifically Site #17 were just as described, and the deer really did show up in the meadow behind the site. James stopped by to introduce himself and is putting in the work to make this campground worth considering if you are in the Pagosa Springs area.

Nice site, easy access plenty of room to maneuver and get settled. Very close to Pagosa Springs activity. There was lots of road construction, so, keep that in mind. Clean, easy access, host messaged with an address that made it a breeze to find. Good communication on his part!

This is a quiet, laid back RV Park. The views are good, we had lots of deer near nearby and the locals are friendly. The price is fair for what you get. Looking forward to the new amenities!

The RV park is NOT a glamping park. It’s a very plain, older park. Several sites are taken by long term tenants, which is very obvious by the items outside of their RV. Never saw James the camp host. It’s a quiet park even though it’s right off a major highway and cost reasonable for what you get. They are building a structure mid site, possible for showers or laundry…hard to tell. Landscaping around the park could use some attention.

We stayed in site #9 in our 37 ft 5th wheel with slide outs on both sides of the unit. There was plenty of room to spare. This site is gravel and pretty level with pine trees shading it. The site has a newer looking sewer connection, good fresh water pressure, and had stable 30amp service My one recommendation with a longer unit, since the interior Park Road is a bit tight, is to enter and stay to the far left of the loop road. I then dropped into site #9 from the top of the loop. I also backed out when we left to avoid the pine trees and tight turns. They are currently improving facilities at the park but it was nice especially if you are self contained. The host, James, was very helpful and responsive if you have any questions.

It’s close to town and has full hookups. Appears to be several full timers with junk everywhere and too many cars. I do see a new building being constructed so maybe improvements are on the way?

My day was enjoyable. The site was good and level and easy to back into. I did my check-in via the app and never saw the host or anyone at the campsite. We were simply told to pull into our site number and that’s what we did. overall I enjoyed the visit
