235 Acres of Private Mountain Camping | Exclusive Access | Trout Stream | National Forest | Dark Sky When you book River2Ridge, your group has exclusive access to all 235 acres. There are no neighboring campsites, no shared spaces, and no other campers. Hike, explore, move camp throughout your stay, or settle into your favorite spot—the entire mountain is yours to enjoy. This extraordinary property borders over 2,500 acres of George Washington National Forest, providing direct access to hiking while maintaining complete privacy. Explore more than 1,000 feet of elevation change, a half-mile of scenic Cowardin Run, hardwood forests, wildlife habitat, and spectacular western-facing overlooks with sunsets stretching nearly 60 miles across the Allegheny Mountains. At night, enjoy exceptional stargazing. Our property experiences light pollution comparable to nearby International Dark Sky locations, making it an incredible place to view the Milky Way, meteor showers, and thousands of stars. Located only 3 miles from downtown Hot Springs and The Omni Homestead Resort, you'll have easy access to restaurants, golf, horseback riding, fly fishing, spa treatments, and the historic Warm Springs Pools before returning to complete solitude. Please note before booking: Weekday Construction: We are building our future home near the center of the property. During normal business hours (generally Monday-Friday), you may occasionally hear or see construction activity in this central area. Because the property is over 235 acres, there are numerous quiet camping locations well away from the construction zone. Even during construction, only one Hipcamp reservation is accepted at a time, so your group continues to enjoy exclusive access to the property. Occasionally, foresters, environmental specialists, or USDA/Virginia Department of Forestry personnel may visit to monitor the forest or ongoing conservation projects. Visible wildlife trail cameras are used solely to monitor wildlife and property conditions—they are never hidden and are not intended for guest surveillance.

This beautiful property on 60+ acres offers camping in hay fields that are bordered by forest, and have creeks running throughout. You can park directly at all of the sites. Pack-in, pack-out. No electricity or water hookups. The sites are best suited for tent camping and truck-top campers, though we've also had camper vans book our sites with a good experience. *Sandy Bottom: this is the flattest/most level option, with wide open field bordered by trees and access to Davis Creek. These sites are closest to 29, and you should expect road noise. There are natural springs clearly marked so you can avoid getting any vehicles stuck. *Crawfish Creek: This is the most secluded/quiet site, with creek access. There are natural springs around the creek in this location, so pay attention to the marked off areas to avoid getting stuck. *Sunset Ridge: This site has incredible 360 panoramic mountain views, and shares a driveway to the private residence. If you choose to bring dogs to this site, please know that they will be able to see (and smell and hear) our many animals and livestock guardian dogs. Safety, privacy and environmental impact is very important to us. Please contain all trash, human waste and canine waste and pack it out with you when you leave. Be kind to the areas in which you camp, as they are home to many wildlife, native trees/shrubs/plants and in some cases, food for horses and cows (hay fields).  PLACES CLOSE BY: Experience Davis Creek, woods, pastures, and miles of dirt roads for biking/hiking. Just minutes from the Nelson 151 Craft Beverage trail (over 15 family friendly breweries/winers) and right across the street from Woodridge Farm Brewery. There's Public Access to the Rockfish River .75 mile away. Charlottesville is an easy 25 minute drive. GROUPS: We only allow a small amount of bookings at each of our three sites to allow for a spaced-out, private experience BUT if you have a large group of people and would like to book an entire site we can add spaces to that site for the dates you are looking to book to accommodate; just shoot us a message.

Welcome! We want to note on the front hand that if you decide to stay with us you will be staying in a pasture behind a gate. This is especially important if you are tent camping, because your things will be safe while you explore Hot Springs and surrounding areas unlike a State Park or regular campground! Our land is home to a plethora of animals that you can visit with or just watch during your stay. Depending on the time of year and where we are at in our pasture rotation will dictate where the horses and most of the cattle herd are at. If you message me I can let you know! Our goats and a couple of our cows are at the end of the road on the right! The animals you can see are our cattle (most of their names are on their ear tags), horses, goats (working on getting collars with names), Pickles the mini donkey (he’s with the cows), and chickens (when they go out to free range). We also have a stocked pond that you can bring your fishing gear and fish! There are bass, catfish and bream! If you want to love on a cow then Pepper the Holstein is your girl! Pepper knows her name and will come up to talk to you if you call her from the herd. The horses names are Vivian and Bonnie and they sometimes stay in the pasture with our campers, but they are at a different pasture for now! Vivian is the larger of the two white horses and she loves attention. Bonnie is also white, but she is a bit smaller. She is Viv's sister! There is also always the opportunity to see several species of wildlife while here. Part of our land is cleared for pasture and the rest is undisturbed forest. Two different creeks and hundreds of cedars adorn the land, hence the name "Cedar Creek Farms." Come enjoy the sounds of Ouachita Mountain nature and farm life with us!

Welcome, Travelers We’re happy to have you! Our little campground off I-81 is growing — with brand new sites ready for folks just passing through or looking to unwind for a night under the stars. You can hop right off the interstate, roll on in, and find yourself surrounded by Green Arborvitae Trees . Out here, nature does most of the talking — you might spot deer slipping through the trees, a few turkeys wandering by, or bunnies bouncing across the grass. This is a host-free, self-check-in spot, so no worries about showing up late. Come when you can — just please don’t roll in before 4 PM without a heads up. We’ve got a roomy drive-through meadow for easy parking, back-in nooks for smaller rigs, and some new cozy spots tucked away for extra privacy. We’re still expanding and adding more, so there’s always something new taking shape. There are 2 entries, 2nd entrance for smaller vehicles/ rigs. See photo! We keep things simple and seasonal out here. If you’d like some farm-fresh goods, just let us know — we’ll ride up with a couple of baskets when we’re around. Offerings change with the seasons, but you might find fresh produce, homemade goods, or farm eggs when the hens are laying (they usually take a break through fall and winter here in Zone 6). Stay a night, breathe deep, and let the quiet do its thing. Safe travels, and we’ll see you down the road.

Open on weekends only. Learn more about this land: The Rock Pit is a 5 acre swimming hole located in Trinity County that has been there over 50 years. Long ago they had dug out an area on a hill for rock on the dirt roads, and hit and underground water table. There are no fish in the Rock Pit, as the pH is 4.5, so no fish will live in it. I recall swimming there as a small boy, and wanted to share my memories with others. Depth ranges all over, but the deep end is around 15 feet. I have 5 kayaks currently, but bring yours if you have them, along with your vests. There is fishing in Lake Livingston, my place is north of it. There is access to Lake Livingston via White Rock Creek. A public boat ramp in on Highway 94, just outside Trinity. Or you can go back towards Trinity, to highway 357 and go to a ramp closer to the big lake. Tall pine tress, a few Oaks, and maple trees surround the place. Bring your mosquito repellant, as you are in the country! The place is raw right now, but I am planning improvements such as a few A frame cabins, a showering area and so on. So many things to do!
