You’re up off the ground on a sealed deck. Our completely remodeled cabin is located in “Old Ruidoso”. It’s walking distance to Midtown and a short drive to Grindstone Lake, Ski Apache and Ruidoso Downs Race Track. We have a grill on our back deck with seating area and an hot tub in the back yard. Our front deck has a 2 person porch swing where you can enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an afternoon glass of wine. As frequent Airbnb guests we feel we have provided a great place for you to stay. The space House: We look forward to sharing our cabin, The Treehouse with you. We purchased and renovated this cabin as a full-time vacation rental and as a place for my husband and me to stay when we visit our daughter and her family. We have been coming to Ruidoso several times a year since they moved here. We love the beauty of the mountains and wildlife and look forward to sharing that with you. Outside: We have 2 seating areas outside, 1 on the front deck and another on the back deck in addition to a gas grill and a hot tub. Parking: There are 2 parking spots in the driveway. Sleeping Areas: The house sleeps up to 4 people, a queen bed in the bedroom and a sleeper couch in the living room. We also have a pack-and-play upon request. There is a small 4-drawer dresser and a closet with plenty of hangers to store your belongings. In addition to the mini-split heater in the living room there are 2 space heaters for the bedroom and the bathroom for the cooler months. For the warmer months the mini-split also has and air conditioner setting and there is a ceiling fan in the bedroom. We provide all pillows and bed linens. Bathroom: We have a full sized bathroom with a bathtub and shower. We provide towels, soap, lotion and toilet paper plus a blow dryer, iron, ironing board and luggage rack located in the closet which is also in the bathroom. Living room: Sink into our comfy couch or chair while watching tv or reading a book. We provide a phone charging station on the side table next to the couch. There are a variety of games which you can find on the side table by back door. Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped for you to cook Camera: We have a nest camera installed in the front of the cabin that can not only see anything in the front, but can also pick up your conversation.

Cienega Arroyo Ranch

On a working ranch, this campsite is located up a secluded arroyo off of the Hondo Valley and Rio Ruidoso in San Patricio, NM. This ranch is nearly 1400 acres total that is available for exploring and wildlife watching. During wildlife watching, it is possible that you could see roadrunners, squirrels, coyotes, rabbits, hawks, deer, elk, lizards, foxes, and many different types of song birds. A road south of the campsite is available for hiking down.Ruidoso and Ruidoso Downs are just over a 20 minute drive from this campsite. Historic Lincoln and Fort Stanton are a quick drive from this area as well. The Hurd Gallery can be visited by driving down the highway a couple miles. A fishing spot open to the public on the Rio Ruidoso is available for fishing just a few miles down the highway as well. It has been reported that this arroyo contained a cienega many years ago which was a marshy area fed by a spring, before groundwater wells ran it dry. Most cienegas are now extinct in the southwest. Sheep and Firewood were the main commodities produced off of this ranch before cattle became dominant. NM State Land is 640 of these acres which requires an annual permit for recreational use.

Cell phone service is hit or miss but wifi is available up towards the house on the property. Suitable for RV's up to 35 feet with a 50 amp hook up. Spot is located at the base of a 9 acre property. Our home is located up top; from the RV spot you cannot see the home.

One addition to the description -- TENTS ONLY! Do not try to haul a camper up here, unless you have a 4x4 and offroad camper. You will get stuck. The roads are steep and gravel, with no guard rails. The parking lot is tight with little room to turn around.

This is a really cool place to camp. Literally and figuratively. There are a handful of camp sites at the peak, and there is a single pit toilet. No water, electric or any amenities. You can relieve yourself in the toilet, and that is ALL you are allowed to leave behind. Everything else must be taken with you.. This site is at the peak, and sits below Sierra Blanca and between Sierra Blanca and Capitan mountains; therefore it is WINDY. During the day, it is a nice breeze that keeps you cool. At night, it gets quite cold. Whatever the weather is in Ruidoso or Alto, plan a good 10 degrees cooler, especially at night. The trail out here is steep and washboard -- have the right kind of car!
