Find your happy place nestled along the banks of Bishop Creek. At $70 a night, it’s super-reasonable for a big group of people (25 tops) and is available by reservation only, so snag this gem for the summer while you still can. The area has a bunch of cool stuff to offer, from hiking and fishing a stocked trout stream, to perusing local stores and restaurants that aren’t too far away (so you can bring that friend who complains about dirt and bugs, and she/he will still be entertained). Camp ikigai is a 72 acre farm/ranch stay near Sequoia-Kings (SEKI) Canyon Nat'l Parks. Rescued/EOL horses, sheep, chickens, and ducks freely roam the property. Please note: you are expected to leave the ranch and kitchen area as you found it, i.e., dishes washed thoroughly and dried and put away, recycling separated from trash, food scraps in compost buckets, sticky marshmallow removed from forks and surfaces (ick!). Starting from Big Pine Campground, we hiked into the mountains to finish here at 2nd lake below Temple Crag. Remains one of the coolest spots I've been lucky enough to set-up camp at. The views were so great, that we just had to soak it up outside the tent!
