Susanne is amazing. She’s very responsive, kind and personable. The teepee was amazing along with the neighborhood dogs and roosters. The place is amazing with great hiking trails. Highly recommend!

This was a beautiful little retreat for a weekend getaway! We booked the bubble for Albuquerque balloon fiesta and it was perfect! There is about an hour drive to Albuquerque but not difficult. I recommend a vehicle lifted off the ground and or with four wheel drive. There is a small hike from your parking spot down to the bubble but it’s not too bad. The horse trailer bathroom definitely makes this location luxury. We loved every minute of it!

What a magical space the bubble tent is! In the middle of The Pecos, close to a lovely hiking area. The space has everything for a glamping experience: comfy beds and hammock, dishes, coffee, tables, chairs and a fire pit. The nearby horse trailer has a very clean toilet + shower and a toaster and coffee maker. And Santa Fe is just 20 minutes away! We loved our stay and can't wait to be back ❤️

The bubble tent was magical! I loved the set up. Very cozy and private. The area was absolutely beautiful and everything was so well kept. This is a definite MUST on the bucket list.

Ahh the Wilderness Bubble… super remote, and very accommodating!! Close to the homestead, yet you feel extremely secluded. Amenities, check! 👍 pretty much all inclusive when it comes to camping necessities such as bug spray, flashlights, cooking utensils, bedding, canopy, chairs, etc. 10/10 would recommend sleeping in a plastic bubble under the stars!!
Restroom/shower facility - primitive, eclectic, and efficient. Such a cool concept.
Outdoor activities were great! The hiking trail was a bit steep, but the view from the top was well worth it.
My fiancé and I stayed here for a night passing through on a Colorado road trip, and we will 100% be coming back here one day when we have longer to stay, definitely in the sweet teepee next time.

Our stay was peaceful and amenities were thoughtfully provided given the location.
2 recommendations:
1. For the host, adjustments regarding the bedding, for the elevated mattress: perhaps find a way to level it out somehow - during the night, we found ourselves slowly slipping downwards and had to wake and adjust accordingly. Relatedly, the hammock hanged a bit too low for full comfort.
2. For future guests, if you’re into hiking make sure you budget enough time to take the trail to the ridge / overlook - we did not and wish we had more time to do so but happened to be on a tight schedule for our arrival and departure. Admittedly, we would have enjoyed ourselves more had we had more time on the property and the energy to do so - totally on us!

I wish I could live here. My friend and I had the best night’s sleep, had literally everything we needed, and felt safe. I hope to go back when I visit New Mexico again. It was a little hard to find, but well worth it. Our hosts were the sweetest people.

This was my first trip of this kind. The place was very beautiful, cozy and quiet exactly what we needed for a weekend getaway. Susanne is a great host, very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our stay!

It rained most of the time we were there. It was cold. We got our car stuck in the mud. Despite all that, our time in the tipi was my favorite experience of our trip to New Mexico. It was dry and cozy inside the tipi and Suzanne was beyond helpful. I can't recommend this place enough.

Extremely spacious and private camp site yet still accessible with a loaded down Honda Civic. Love the dogs, hiking trail is amazing and it’s like having the mountain to yourself - horse trailer bathroom and shower house was great to have. Way more stuff there for us than I expected- chairs, swing, dish soap, coffee maker, covered sitting area, grill-and much more - very spoiled camping for us and I could have packed much lighter. I hope we find our way to camp there again soon

Great stay at Susanne’s. She has a great little covered table perfect for food prep, the bathroom trailer was awesome, and I loved the little hike up to the ridgeline on her property. Would highly recommend staying here!

This was our first trip as a family of four which included two 3-year olds, and I am so fortunate to have found Susanne's camp as an introduction to the outdoors. The amenities are excellent, the campsite is beautiful with wonderful views of Pecos Valley during the day as well as the beautiful skies in the evening.
Susanne and her son were excellent hosts who answered all of our questions prior to arrival as well as during out stay and they carry a great conversation. Thank you Susanne and Nico!

I was told how amazing camping was there and I decided to book some dates. From the moment I booked to the moment I checked out, Susanne was amazing about everything. The campsite had more than I expected and I was giving a quick tour. Hiking is definitely great and easily accessible. I would definitely be going back and recommending to friends.

We had a great time in the teepee, it was comfortable and Susanne provided everything we could need. The bathroom is ok, although I did struggle to get in and out of the horse trailer sometimes. The walks on the property were incredible and highly recommended. We would very happily return here to explore some more in the future.

Camping and Stargazing in La Cueva
Camping and Stargazing in La Cueva was really lovely. Susanne's directions were very helpful. Her son Nico met us when we arrived and gave us a great orientation of the grounds. The bathroom set up in the former horse trailer is really impressive (toilet, shower, sink!), and a side compartment with coffee maker and tea possibilities. Fire rings are available when it's seasonally allowed, and they have a number of spots for sitting and additional shade. Off to the side of camping areas is a well marked hiking trail to the ridgetop. It's a nice hike with great views. We were driving through so we only got to spend one night there... but one day it would be great to return to the area to explore Santa Fe and the surrounding area - and camp and stargaze more at La Cueva!

Susanne was great! So friendly and accommodating. She had hammocks, swings, table, chairs, and a fire pit for use right by the tent site. The converted horse trailer with hot and potable water, shower, electricity, and toilet was a refreshing bonus! The only downside was a rentable teepee was also on the property and those renters had to walk by our tent to get to the bathroom. There were options to choose for set up. The area was beautiful and well maintained! We could not hear road noise at all. It was a close drive to Pecos National Historic Park and an easy drive from the highway. Another bonus was Suzanne’s friendly dogs who came to say hello.

The Magical Prairie Fire Tipi was just that ... magical. From the Tipi itself, to the hammock and the forest background ... it was perfect. Highly recommend! Susanne was such a beautiful, friendly host! I will definitely be back.

Susanne's teepee is actually 10x better than expected and explained in the listing. The teepee and space is setup with just about anything and everything you might need. Tons of blankets (including an electric blanket, basic cooking/eating utensils, soap, tp, paper towels, indoor lighting, a hammock, lanterns/flashlight, etc. If I gave any reco to improve the already perfect space, would be to have outdoor hanging lights and a larger more standard table at the teepee. But honestly, way past our expectations. The access to nature and hikes, the dark forest and star lit sky... exactly what we wanted.

It's a beautiful location and has an incredible hike up to the ridge and along the ridge into the wilderness. I would recommend for the first part closer trail markings as there are a few places you have to be careful. Lovely host..

This is a beautiful location, and certainly fantastic for stargazing. The campsites already include many items like firepit, stove, canopies, hammock, tables, chairs, etc. The horsetrailer shower and bathroom was very welcome. The host Suzanne was very nice, helpful, and responsive. If you go hiking up to the ridge, i recommend you set a datapoint at the camp to find your way back, because the path is not clearly marked and the address is not accurately located on google maps.
