We loved tent camping on Paul's property, we drove around and looked at every site and ended up picking site 8 for it's privacy and cute little pond area, though we would have been ecstatic with any of the sites as they were all private and tidy. Boyd and Ace (resident campers we ran into) were also very kind and Ace was fun to pet! (He's a dog haha) the ocean was walking distance away which was also very nice. Paul even offered to deliver firewood to us and build us a cozy campfire! Would definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a secluded, private, clean place to camp. We'll definitely be back next year!

Great host! Paul really cares for his property and set up a bunch of lovely, private, level, spaced out options(watch for slugs in the grass if you venture out on warm summer nights.) Came back for a second night knowing that finding something else in a busy holiday weekend was like playing chicken:) neighboring campers were all quiet and friendly and Paul was accessible if we needed anything. Nice touches like signage and clearly marked spot, clean potty, water. Thanks for giving us a nice spot on our journey! Probably one of the best most welcoming hip camps we have ever stayed in!!!! Would definitely recommend a stay here. Close to fun mountain biking and beach resort and lake options too. Thanks!

We camped at Paul’s property for two nights and really enjoyed it. The sites were spacious, outhouse clean, and location was great. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Quiet and private site. There were only a few other campers there. We stayed in campsite #4 which was great. No neighbors. Easy to find and easy to book on this busy holiday week. Water available from the spigot and there’s a single outhouse.

This is simply a grassy meadow. As it was dry and at the end of summer when I arrived, the ground was pretty firm. I have a 35ft motorhome with a tag axle. To get on to the property you have to drive down a fairly steep short grade, also grass. I had no problems. But had it even been slightly damp this could have gone very differently. I really don’t recommend this spot to anyone with a larger motorhome. You could get stuck easily. The camp spots themselves are simply places to park or set up your tent. It’s beautiful, quiet, tranquil. Nature. If was driving a sprinter van, or tent camping no problem at all. But getting stuck in a field like this in a big rig is no fun. And would be expensive to get towed out from…

We stayed in Site 6 and it was pretty private! Backed on to Sites 3 and 4 but there’s a privacy screen that helps keep things secluded.
Host was friendly, outhouse was clean for what it is. Access to water. Close to a beach walk. Good spot to hang out for the evening after exploring Strathcona for the day.

A great spot to spend a few nights, there is an outhouse,access to water and a short walk to the Salmon Point resort beach. There is even a sourdough farm stand at the entrance to the field! There are 9 spots to chose from and all are tucked away into a private space and driveway. We were able to easily maneuver and level our camper van and have enough space to set up a sun shelter. Dogs are allowed and the open field is a great space for them to run ( that is if they are not tired from all the activities nearby). There is an Italian restaurant- Mattone's that is right along the beach. We did not eat there this trip but the next time we stay at this hip camp we will make sure to stop in for a pizza or pasta. A fantastic sheltered and secluded spot. Handy for a good walk plus access to the stoney beach. Restaurant walkable where good reasonably priced food is served right above the beach. There is an RV site at the beach but hardly saw or heard anyone.
Great to have potable water plus a well stocked and clean pit toilet. Had great chat to the owner - great guy.

One of my favourite locations on Vancouver Island. It has secluded camp sites looking over a large meadow. It's very close to the Salmon Point trail, which is a popular hike for locals. This time of year it is popular for salt water fly fishing from the beach at Salmon Point, a short walk away. Great for people looking for a quiet stay near some great walking trails. This is not your typical parking lot RV camping with flush toilets, a crowded pool and kids racing around on bikes.

Nice little campsite, handy location for getting to the beach. Our host, Paul, was very nice and helpful. I had a lovely secluded little walk in campsite which was very relaxing, I could hear rabbits moving around beside my tent at night.

The campsite was great! Paul was a very wonderful host and checked to make sure we were good once we were set up, which was so appreciated. I would recommend sites 1, 2, 3/4! Site 6 was a tad dusty and site 8 is visible from the road. Get there early to pick your preferred spot. Campsite 1 provided great morning and afternoon/evening shade. There was a small table that we were able to use for cooking as we forgot our own. Would definitely stay again but as a tent camper I would recommend brining some sort of outdoor shower and make sure to pack a table and chairs! The outhouse was always very clean and well stocked.

Great sites that are relatively secluded from each other. Clean outhouse. Easy to get to and find with good signage. Host gave us great directions to help us find the place. Would definitely stay here again!
