Eco Campsite with an emphasis on sustainability.
Elevated open views over the Shropshire Hills AONB. Red Kites, Buzzards and Kestrels soaring overhead and Sparrow Hawks flashing by. Wild Deer, Pheasants, Rabbits and Hares, all regular visitors to the camp fields. Nature is very close here if you are quiet and watch. We are in a "Dark Skies" zone so star watching is a must. Bring binoculars.

The camp has open plan pitches to enhance the views (Pls book hardstanding in wet weather) All Weather 365 Hardstanding pitches. Great for winter or bad weather. If the weather turns bad you can upgrade after arrival (subject to availability)

Guests to Rhos y Gallt describe the campsite as a little gem of a site - small, quite and tranquil with wonderful sunsets. The site can accommodate up to 5 caravans and 10 tents situated on a level 2 acre site within the beautiful rolling hills of Montgomeryshire in Mid Wales.
There are hard standing pitches with electric hook-up as well as grass pitches with and without electric hook-up. There is also a field bordering a river which is used for wild camping - but you'll have to share it with the sheep!
The toilet block has a family wet room with shower, toilet, wash hand basin and baby changing unit, a separate toilet, shower and kitchen area with freezer.
The site borders a river meadow where visitors can wonder down and take a walk down with the river bank, relax by the water edge, throw a few skimmers, do a spot of fishing or even go wild water swimming (at your own risk!).
Well behaved dogs are welcome (maximum 2 per unit).
We were delighted to receive a nomination for The Camping and Caravanning Club Best Hideaway Site in 2021 and grateful to our wonderful guests for the nomination.

You’ll wake up and unwind to the sound of bird. Our orchard boasts a wide array of native wildflowers, birds and wildlife. regular sightings of Buzzards, red kites, merlin, owls, deer, foxes and badges.
Being nestled on a hill, surrounded by ancient trees, a clear night creates the perfect dark setting for star gazing. We welcome you to light a evening fire, howl to the moon, and listen out for the resident owls ‘twittwoo’ in to the night…
Or maybe just relax and Watch the sun setting over the hills from our swinging bench…..The perfect end to a summers day.

A fantastic place to camp. The facilities were great the welcome was lovely and the views amazing. Will definitely be back for a longer stay. Linda and hubby were very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. The facilities were clean and modern. The directions were clear and easy to follow. We enjoyed the fire pit and listening to the owls late into the evening. Will recommend to anyone looking to visit the area, and the eggs were delicious too.

Myself and my friend stayed at Knotted roots and it was an amazing stay. Just what I was looking for when I was searching for wild camping camp sites. The orchard has pares and apples that you can pick and eat which were actually quite nice, and the hosts where lovely too. Definitely going back there again some time soon.
Also a disclaimer, it is advertised as wild camping so not all the ground is going to be level and flat.

We have just come back from a campervan 2 night trip to Panpwnton Campsite. We had a lovely time, it was very quiet as we were the only ones staying…. Probably due to the weather!
This meant we got a great spot right next to the river which was perfect.
The facilities were good. The location was great. We did a walk straight from the site on to part of Offa Dykes path and along to the Knuclas viaduct, great views along the way. We had thought we might get the train back just for fun, but they don’t run very often (would have been a 2hr wait) so walked back instead.
Site also easy walking distance to the local pub for an evening meal which was good too.
Very Dark walk back that evening meant for some great star gazing:-)

Brilliant campsite. I was camping there alone but felt very comfortable. Lovely field to camp in, beautiful views around the farm in the morning, great building to chill out in, useful facilities to store and heat food. Also loved the honesty shop with delicious pastries. Ian was very helpful with recommending local walks, and checked in throughout stay. Would love to visit again next year!

Panpwnton Farm is a lovely campsite. Very clean toilets and wash up facilities. I didn't use the showers as I only stayed a couple of nights, however they were spacious.
I will definitely be returning for a longer stay.
It's a lovely walk from the campsite to Knighton, alongside the river.
Trains do pass right along the side of the site but it didn't bother me or my dog. Easy access to Offa's Dyke.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Everything was set up and ready for us when we arrived, which made settling in so easy. The hammocks were such a relaxing touch, and having water and a fire kit provided really showed the thoughtfulness that went into the experience. The host was lovely—friendly but gave us complete space—so it truly felt like being out in the woods, surrounded only by the sounds of nature. It was peaceful, refreshing, and exactly what we were hoping for. We can’t wait to come back!

Definitely as described, and would have been absolutely gorgeous if the weather was amazing: beautiful view, fire pit and barbecue, just imagine! The weather was a bit wet and windy for us, but we still had a lovely two night stay and basically had the place to ourselves. Toilets and showers great, the little pub so nice and the farm shop an added extra. We really valued the commitment to recycling and zero waste and everyone we spoke to was super friendly. We will definitely be back!
