Freedom Farmstay - simple, back to nature camping for FULLY self-contained travellers. CHILDREN are always FREE... Quiet location on acreage in rural Baldivis (within the Perth metro area). We love our little tranquil piece of paradise... our little freedom farm, with it's beautiful natural spaces and menagerie of animals, yet close to lots of local amenities in Baldivis / Rockingham. We're just a 15min drive to the beach and 30mins to Perth city or Mandurah. We can only accommodate a small number of campers, or groups of campers, at any given time.. so you have space, solitude and security for your family/group. You MUST be fully self contained WITH your OWN TOILET. Clear bore water for small tank fills can be arranged during your stay. NOTE: we do NOT have mains water and constant tap access is not available. Water refills need to be requested and you may need to wait up to a day. Sites are in open paddocks with some limited shade available. Dogs are allowed ONLY if kept on lead at all times. Sites 1 & 2: Suitable for small/med vans, motorhomes, camper trailers and MINI-buses. Could fit 3 families if you're with a group. Private site for your family/group only. Site 3 (Families WITH children): Large area that can take all size vehicles including big rigs and full size buses. This is a share site, so you may be sharing with other families (max 12 vans across 9 spots). If you wish to book for a large group, book as early as possible. Huge access gap into paddock, approx 15mtrs wide. NOTE: If you are NOT travelling WITH CHILDREN please do NOT book this area!! Site 4: For any sized vehicles. Suitable for up to 6 vans if camping with a group. This is a share site, so you may be sharing with others (max 6 vans across 4 spots) If you wish to book for a group, book as early as possible. Access gap approx 10mtrs wide. Campfires allowed in contained fire pits. Important NOTE: This is a WORKING hobby farm. There are tyres and poles, sand piles, fencing projects underway, etc etc. There are also many free roaming animals - our friendly farm dog, the chooks, sheep and alpaca.. along with the horse! If you are looking for manicured, super flat areas or have a fear of animals - this is NOT the place for you. There are also a HUGE number of factors that can affect your stay that I have ZERO control over... The seasons change a lot of things throughout the course of the year: we have snakes (like ALL Aussie bush places) for most of the year; an assortment of insects, according to their seasons; varying growth stages of grasses - long, short, brown, green and sometimes grass seeds/prickles.. along with some crazy weather on occasion (high winds, high temps, storms) - NONE of which I have any control over.. so if you are a moaning myrtle and any of those things are likely to bother you, please don't come to our property... oh, and roosters - we have them too! If you accept that you are staying on a working hobby farm and that I have no control over nature - then welcome, there is much beauty here for those who have the eyes to see - and as a base to explore the Perth area, we have a pretty convenient spot :)

Large (approx 5 acre), easy accessible paddock for ALL size vehicles including big rigs and full size buses, including if they are towing a car trailer. Can get muddy during/after heavy rain. FAMILY site - unless you are camping WITH another guest (who IS a family), do NOT book this if you are a single person or couple. You may be asked to move once we realise and if there's no space to move to, you will be asked to leave and will forfeit your booking! This is a SHARE site, so you may be sharing with other families, but you will still have plenty of space to yourselves. If travelling with another van/s, you can either all book in one booking, or book as separate bookings - as there are not set/marked sites, you can pick your spot together upon arrival.

The Caretaker's Coop: EXCLUSIVE USE

The Caretaker's Coop (site 1) is approx 30 x 30mtrs wide with a flat grassy area, with plenty of sun exposure and several shady trees. This site is named because it sits alongside the back of the caretaker's chicken coop. There are chickens of many different ages, including currently lots of babies :) Children are able to observe them up close and welcome to feed them food scraps (no avocado or bones) from this private paddock. [Please note that dogs MUST be kept under control at all times if staying in this site] Private site for you or your group - can fit up to 3 small caravans (*with a max of 24') * Single vans up to 24' IF you are a competent tower (I've had people with 26" get down there no problems and others in 22' freak out because they find the entrance corner tight or the 3.6mtr laneway too narrow!... it comes down to the driver) Do NOT book this spot if you are in a large van, bus and/or towing with a large vehicle/truck!! CAMPFIRES: April-May 2025: Campfires *may* be allowed depending on conditions - you must check with owner on the day, before lighting anything. NOTE: Site is reasonably flat... BUT you are camping in a paddock and there is no truly flat ground. If you need really flat ground, a caravan park is probably more suitable :)

Large (approx 3 acre), easy accessible paddock for ALL size vehicles including big rigs and full size buses, including if they are towing a car trailer. Paddock was partly raised a few months back, so some spots are still a little sandy, but there are also grassed areas. NOTE: Site is reasonably flat... BUT you are camping in a paddock and there is no truly flat ground. If you need really flat ground, a caravan park is probably more suitable for you :) This is a SHARE site, so you may be sharing with others, but you will still have plenty of space to yourselves. Max of 6 vans across 4 spots. If travelling with others, please book a site each and let me know that you want to be placed together. NOTE: pics shown are of the family paddock, this one is similar but currently a little less grass.

The wattle field (site 2) is approx 40 x 30mtrs wide with a flat grassy area, with plenty of sun exposure and a few small (wattle) trees. This site is the small, exclusive use paddock area that is between The Caretaker's Coop (site 1) and "The Open Plain" (site 3).. it is alongside one of the main horse paddocks. This is a private use site for you or your group - can fit up to 3 small caravans (*with a max of 24') * Single vans up to 24' IF you are a competent tower (I've had people with 26" get down there no problems and others in 20' freak out because they find the entrance corner tight or the 3.6mtr laneway too narrow... it comes down to the driver and the size of your tow vehicle) Do NOT book this spot if you are in a large van, bus and/or towing with a large vehicle/truck!! The Open Plains (site 3) is approx 40 x 30mtrs wide with a two tiered flat area (grassy in one section and sandy/small rocks in the other), with plenty of sun exposure and a single small tree in the corner. This site is the small, sectioned paddock that is directly behind the van storage area.. It sits alongside one of the main horse paddocks. Area possibly shared with one other family/small group.. or suitable for up to 4/5 vans if you're coming with your own group. * Single vans up to 24' IF you are a competent tower (I've had people with 26" get down there no problems and others in 20' freak out because they find the 3.6mtr laneway too narrow... it comes down to the driver and the size of your tow vehicle) Do NOT book this spot if you are in a very large van, bus and/or towing with a large vehicle/truck!!

It serves its purpose of being an affordable place to stay near Perth. As hay fever sufferers it probably wasn't our smartest choice.

An AMAZING place to set up for a few nights. The camp area is a spacious and lush green paddock visited by sheep, chooks and a very friendly dog, Rusty. The host was so friendly. She popped by to welcome us, allowed us to forage for fire wood and even bought a baby sheep over for the kids to pat and me to snuggle. The location is great, very central to the city but without all the chaos. We looked forward to coming back every afternoon after our days of exploring. We all loved this spot. It was excellent.

Great location for a quick weekend getaway from Perth. Debbie was very accommodating. With all the rain around over winter there were parts of the property that were waterlogged but several options were offered upon arrival. Rusty the dog was super friendly and became a temporary extra member of our family :) There is a bit of road noise but not to the extent that it spoiled the experience. Birdsong generally drowns it out. The description in the listing is very accurate. This is a working hobby farm so don't expect manicured paddocks. Do expect a friendly welcome, lots of animals, and a relaxed atmosphere for a very reasonable price. Thanks, I've no doubt we'll be back at some point.

It was great, very quiet and secluded. There weren't many campers during our stay so we had the place to ourselves. Would definitely recommend for families or groups, theres alot of space to do activities and shops and additional activities are within a 10 minute drive. There is a very lovely Dog named Rusty that hung around sometimes, very playful and added to the fun.

This was a perfect stay for us as it reminded us of home. Lots of space & a camp fire! Debbie was great, very relaxed & informative our kids enjoyed talking to her son and all so enjoyed playing with the chickens. I chick in particular would coming running over every morning to say hello:) We would stay here again when we return to WA.

We were in the shared site area , was well sized , we were 1 of 4 setups, so well spread out and barley noticed any other campers for noise .. Very friendly animals sheep and chooks(especially) Perfect little 2 nighter get away for us in our self contained Van. A good experience.

The Open Plains:
A genuine farm stay where the animals are super close and may even be at your door when you wake up. Kids loved it and had heaps of fun with other kids building a cubby and sitting around a fire.

Great location for exploring south Perth. Quiet but close to shops etc. Very friendly chickens, sheep and dog! The adult / family paddocks are next to each other and it didn't seem to matter where you parked, there were singles / couples in the family section. Not too busy but nice to have a few other campers around.

The camp is fine. It's what you pay for. Open paddock with plenty of room. A few trees with shade. The grass is long in some parts, lots of animal droppings that really need to be removed if they want to make money off people renting the space.

It was very convenient to Rockingham. We loved watching the chickens and sheep. It was a shame we couldn't contact Debbie to stay longer as Hipcamp was expensive!

We stayed in the private 'Caretakers Coop' which had ample space, beautiful shady trees, and chickens, sheep and ducks that would visit every afternoon. Very quiet and private at the back of the property. Highly recommend, would definitely stay again. Thank you so much 😊🙏🏻

Sheep with constant urine dripping is very intimidating and will not hesitate to push over children, host even confirmed she was already aware and that sheep intimidates her daughter too, but host didn’t do anything about it. Host was very hard to contact (we tried contact via Hipcamp, text message and phone call), we had to keep our kids inside the caravan most of the time. Animals are also not fenced in. Host also changed our booking at the last minute (ie. check in time was 2pm, we received message at 3pm before we arrived at 4pm to notify us the spot we booked was not available). Do not recommend.

The Wattle Field: EXCLUSIVE USE
Poor communication, contacted early in the week prior to see if we could arrive earlier than 2pm on the Saturday. We were told she was unsure, we told her we would contact her on Friday night. We did no reply, we tried several times on Saturday morning, no reply. No on around at 2pm to tell us where to set up, after being told by another camper to go through and set up where we liked, as they had the day prior. We did and set up, we then got a text giving us instructions. We were in the wrong spot, but hey not moving now. $48 is over the top, stayed at better places for $30 with lovely people to greet on arrival and offer assistance if needed. Disappointed and won't go back.

Great hip camp! Nice and quiet, very kid friendly! Farm animals walking by was so nice to see and experience!! Close enough to shops and attractions however, felt like we were in a remote country feel location while on the farm! Thank you for the great stay!

Very quiet , was a bit expensive , I don't know if it was because of hipcampfees ... @ 145 for 3 nights no power or water, But noone annoyed us , just faced the caravan the paddock way .
