We live on a picturesque 400 acre property, high in the Darling Range an hour north of Perth. The property overlooks Lake Chittering with sweeping views to the horizon. The native bush here is typical of the Darling Ranges, featuring Jarrah, Marri, Wandoo, Xanthorea and Banksia. Fed by the mighty Brockman river, the pretty Chittering Lake is almost completely obscured by vegetation. The lake features lots of birdlife including swans, wood ducks, spoonbills and wedgetail eagles. The Chittering valley has much to offer including scenic walks and local cellar doors. The springtime is full of the region's wildflowers, and if you're visiting around October don't miss A Taste of Chittering, the food and wine festival showcasing local produce. We have a number of campsites on offer for your relaxing holiday.

This one's tucked around the corner of Reprieve Paddock in a secluded nook surrounded on three sides by native bush. A bit smaller than the other Reprieve sites but still plenty of space for a couple of larger vans. Guaranteed all weather access for any vehicle. Well sheltered from cooler south westerlies we sometimes get in Winter.

This is an eastern facing ridge looking out over a valley with the horizon some 15km away. Well sheltered bushland with Jarrah, Wandoo and Marri with an understorey of Xanthorrhoea and Banksia. The sites are small and private. This site is not suitable for caravans larger than 12 feet as there are some overhanging trees and tight corners. Camper trailers should be fine.

This great spot is on the edge of a cleared paddock, surrounded on two sides by native bush so it is well sheltered yet has an outlook onto an open area. Facing west for sunset views and plenty of open sky for star gazing. It has easy all year round access for all sizes of rigs. There's space enough for a dozen or more caravans. Come circle your wagons around the big firepit and enjoy a few days away from city life.

As the name would suggest this site is great for a nice sunny perspective. It's situated in the southwest corner of Reprieve paddock with a northerly aspect. This is a fairly small quiet spot surrounded by natural bush consisting of mostly Jarrah, Marri and plenty of Grass Trees (Xanthoria). Suitable for a swag, tent or camper trailer. Not suitable for caravans as access would be a bit tight. Easy all weather access for 2WD vehicles across solid gravel. The site is fairly level so minimal leveling would be required for camper trailers.

Winter weekend getaway

This is our 2nd time staying at Chittering Aces, however a few years apart. I can't say enough about this place. Great hosts, scenic views and peaceful sites. We set up Friday afternoon and then enjoyed a nice camp fire, before the rains set in for the night. Although we were rained in on the Saturday it did not ruin the peace and tranquillity. Our 2 pups loved the freedom of being off the lead and exploring 😀 Will be booking again when it warms up.

Thanks Andrew for a terrific stay. Nice sunny spot with heaps of room for the kids to explore and play. Great to have a camp fire and way better than a crowded caravan park in 45 minutes from home.

We took our camper trailer for its maiden trip not to far from home and what a beautiful spot it turned out to be. From the drive in with all the weird (in a good way) and wonderful unique pieces of colourful art work to the unbelievable spacious camping spot it really was unexpected. We will definitely be revisiting this lovely place and for a longer duration next time.

Site 1 - DogLeg
Everything went well. The entire property is spacious, private and secure. All spots are a decent distance from each other. There is plenty of space to enjoy a comfortable relaxing time away from the rat race. If you're looking for a great experience without any hassle from the outside world, this is where it's at. Graham is a warm, friendly host who will respond to any questions within minutes if you require assistance. I highly recommend Chittering Acres.

Great fun for us all - including kids & dog. The driveway to site is fantastic with so many intriguing & beautiful sculptures, while the site itself is so quiet & peaceful. Lots of space for kids to explore!

Camping at Chittering Acres (Back Bush) is a hidden gem for nature lovers and stargazers alike. The peaceful, serene atmosphere immediately transports you to a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. One of the highlights is the incredible wildlife — kangaroos can often be seen hopping through the bushland, and curious bobtail lizards make occasional appearances. The campsite is beautifully set against a backdrop of native flora, offering an authentic bush experience. As night falls, the sky comes alive with stars. The stargazing here is simply magnificent, with Mars standing out as a particularly breathtaking sight during our stay. It’s the kind of celestial view that leaves you in awe. Host Andrew goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. His communication is excellent, and his friendly, accommodating nature adds a personal touch to the experience. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with stunning scenery and warm hospitality, Back Bush Camping at Chittering Acres is the perfect spot. Highly recommended!

We ended up being moved to Wandoo Ridge as the other site was occupied. We had great sun exposure for the solar, nice shade next to our site for the heat of the day, and the cooling winds later at night and in the early hours. There are lots of quirky exhibits, dotted around the entrance driveway which makes for an entertaining walk in the mornings. You are left to your own devices and get the occasional visit from some kangaroos and lots of birdlife.

Old Mill Site
We had the old Mill site with us and our friends. We had two vehicles and two caravans. It was very tight coming in and really the site is better suited for tents and not caravans but we survived unscathed. Thank you to Andrew who met us at the gate and guided us in. Next time we would go to a different spot on the same property that wasn’t as hard to get in and out from.

Great spacious camp site - room for plenty! Gina was great, escorted us to the site on day 1. We unfortunately had some Strong winds - overall though zero complaints. Look Forward to visiting again when you can have a fire.

Vast expanse of pasture and woodland, threaded with roads to named can-sights which are well separated from each other for an individual experience. Liaiseson with Andrew was easy. His meet, greet, and escort to our site was cordial and brief, leaving us to explore and enjoy. Overhanging branches prevented us from reaching our booked site in our high-top van, but Andrew re-directed us to an alternate, Old Mill, surrounded by woodland with kangaroos, laughing kookaburra, and a panoply of other birdlife. We hiked for several hours, enjoyed both forest and expansive views, and passed a pleasant evening in our forest glade. Another hike at dawn to witness the last scurries of the nocturnal and watch the diurnal come to life. As far as we could tell, we were the only campers on the property. We didn't see any others, but I believe this vast expanse could absorb the potential numbers of campers at the various sites without compromising the experience. Thanks Andrew for opening both your heart and your property to us. We reciprocated your trust, and we hope many others will as well.

This spot was everything I’d hoped and more! So nice and secluded and had a perfect view of the sunset! My dog is reactive to other dogs so I loved how far away we were, we could still walk around together and not interfere with the other campers, it was truly perfect

Great clean sites, and very spread out so lots of privacy surrounded by beautiful bush. Unfortunately spoilt by a huge party on dogleg site with bass blasting from 2pm in the afternoon until 5am, and then starting up again at 9am 😐 Not quite the quiet, peaceful weekend we were hoping for!

Security may have been an issue, people turned up late at night that were not expected, I don’t blame the hosts but unfortunately being so close to Perth it may need a padlock on the gate?

Wandoo Ridge
This was my first Solo trip with my cat. Andrew was extremely helpful. I was pleasantly surprised at how far apart the sites were. Giving me the opportunity to take my cat for an uninterrupted stroll around the site. She loved it. Giving me the confidence for more adventures with my fur baby. Definitely recommend if you looking for a quiet relaxed break.

Great spot, amazing sculptures on the drive in that were a real surprise, friendly and responsive hosts. Would definitely recommend this place and stay here again. My dog loved it too - especially being off leash. Thanks!

Perfect getaway close to Perth

We were looking for a camping spot close to Perth for a quick getaway and so glad we came across this beautiful place. Andrews communication was excellent prior to and during our visit. Our campsite at North Ridge was absolutely perfect. Had a couple of kangaroos hop on bye whilst enjoying a morning coffee as well. Highly recommend for a visit. Looking forward to staying soon again.

I tried a new site at Chittering Ranges called reprieve south. This is an awesome site if you want quiet with really nice views. Watching the Roos passing by and stargazing at night, will definitely be back there.
