Tranquil camping in beautiful spot
A beautiful and peaceful site in a gorgeous location. The facilities are fantastic, very clean. Each plot has a fire pit and picnic bench which were great. Fran & Richard are brilliant hosts too. The location of the site is great, a short walk to the beach and very easy access to St David's and surrounding areas.

Raven Meadow Pitch - Tents Only
Highly recommended campsite!
Amazing campsite. Facilities are all fantastic, and the amount of space you get on the pitches surpasses any other campsite I've stayed at. Short walk to Whitesands beach (either 5-10 mins on the road, or 10-15mins taking the slightly longer coastal path). We have young kids and it wasn't possible to walk into St David's with them, but only a 5 minute drive. The hosts were super helpful and kept everything spotless. We'll be back!

Guillemot Hideaway (EHU) Tent or Camper Van
We loved this campsite. We had one of the hideaway pitches and there was loads of room and the greenery provided good privacy. The campsite was full but it didn’t feel crowded as everyone is so spread out. The facilities were great too. We wish there were more sites around like this.

Peace and quiet in St Davids
Lovely, quiet campsite with plenty of space and great views - would highly recommend to anyone trying to get away from commercialised sites. Richard and Fran run a tight ship - pitches are well maintained, shower block is pristine and we were kept well informed of any maintenance issues.

Merlin Meadow Pitch - Tents Only
We had a wonderful time at this campsite and it was great to have a whole big pitch to yourself with fire and picnic bench. Such a good location with just a short walk to the beach and short drive into St.Davids. The toilet and shower facilities were really clean and ordering fire wood and Charcoal from Rich and Fran was easy. It was really handy to have our own fridge space and electric charging point for the phones too. I would stay here again.

We felt at home from the moment we arrived. Our pitch was secluded, facilities excellent and Richard and Fran were most helpful. It was great to be surrounded by lovely birds in the hedgerows. It was everything we love. A minor injury meant our week was cut short. Richard and Fran did everything they could to help us out till family arrived to take us home. We will definitely go back.

This place is an oasis of calm, it's fantastic! Me and my son loved camping here as it felt spacious and cared for. With my son can feel uncomfortable in busy or noisy places so trips away can be a challenge, but here we felt relaxed knowing we could head back to the campsite for some quiet time, I am so glad that there are wonderful places like this for people like us.

Buzzard Camping or Camper Van Pitch (EHU)
We have just returned from the Dunes Campsite and had an excellent time. Fran and Richard have done amazing job in making this the best campsite we have ever been too. They are very friendly and the facilities are first class, better than some hotels we have stayed in. Whitesands beach is just a 10 minute walk away, even on a busy day there is plenty of space and with toilets and a nice café it makes it a lovely day on the beach. Richard told us how to walk into St Davids and is was very easy to find. We will defiantly be going back at some point in the future.

Peregrine Meadow Pitch - Tents Only
We have just returned from 2 weeks at Dunes with our family of 4. In typically Welsh fashion, the weather chucked its best and worst at us, but we survived. Largely due to Richard & Fran’s attentive and thoughtful intervention; checking we had seen the forecast and providing us with heavy duty wooden pegs and a sledge hammer. The site is clearly their pride and joy and the new toilet block is stunning. You could eat your dinner off the floor! Fridges are great, each pitch has its designated shelf. £4 to use the washer (eco-detergent is provided in this) and you are trusted to pop your money in an honesty jar. Very much committed to recycling. Our youngest loved the short footpath that is cut into the inside perimeter of the site and must have done 20 miles a day on her bike, just pottering about. We have camped extensively over the years and have not felt this sad to leave for home in a long while. I shall very definitely miss the sight of Richard in his yellow wellies!!!!

Curlew - Hideaway Pitch - Tents Only
We had a fabulous week here this summer - the site is in a beautiful location tucked away behind Whitesands Bay, within walking distance of the beach via the coastal path, and with a view of St Davids in the distance. All the pitches are spacious, with a picnic table and fire pit - we stayed at Curlew which was lovely and secluded. The owners put a lot of thought and care in running the site - the two facility areas are always spotless and there are lots of thoughtful extras, including bags of dry wood available to buy, and a supply of pegs to keep your clothes on the washing lines in the Pembrokeshire wind! Most campsites are a good base just for sleeping and eating, but Dunes is also a lovely place to spend time - we often spent the morning relaxing on site, then headed down to the beach in the afternoon. It is our new favourite site and hope to return soon!

We camped on Kittiwake pitch for 6 nights with lovely weather. This is such a good campsite. All pitches are very private. They will become even more beautiful as the planting develops. Facilities are very good. Although we were a bit of a walk to the toilets it was manageable. Lovely showers. Sensible fridge arrangement etc. And all very well cared for. Ten minutes walk to coastal path, beach, swimming and ice cream.

This is a beautiful site, we have had a great week and have also been fortunate to have great weather. Fran and Richard have provided a site which gives everything a camper could need. ,We stayed in Fulmar a spacious and private site where we could relax and enjoy the peace and scenery around. It is well located for boat trips and walks and the beach is fabulous and safe with life guards. All week we have seen Fran working so hard on the site for our benefit. Everything was clean well maintained and she is passionate about recycling and helping everyone have a good experience. Be prepared that the toilets are not close to the Concealed sites, and the site got a bit windy on a few days so a few extra pegs were needed. Having a fire pit and a picnic bench were also fun additions to the site. St Davids is nearby with a supermarket where we were able to buy all the supplies we needed. We geel we have been privileged to enjoy the Dunes camping site and this stunning area of protected nature reserve. Thankyou.

Kite Camping or Camper Van Pitch (EHU)
On arrival we had a very warm welcome from Fran who showed us the site and the amenities. It was very obvious from the start the pride she had in her site and the effort she had put in to making it the wonderful place it is. The site was immaculately clean, from the pitches to the showers etc. The toilets and showers were spotless and very well equipped. The site was quiet and very peaceful. Book with confidence that your stay will be fantastic.

Kite Camping or Camper Van Pitch (EHU)
We stayed for a week in the summer holidays and completely escaped the crowded summer holiday feeling elsewhere. Site is beautifully kept & in a fantastic location. Please consider a pitch for small campervans (up by the road so as to not encroach on the precious no vehicles tent zone) in your expansion plan!

Back from a week camping at Dunes with our family of 5. Brilliant campsite with friendly owners who keep the place spotless. Spacious private pitches. Best campsite shower we’ve had. Gorgeous area with 10 minute walk to sandy lovely beach which was great for body boarding. St David’s is a lovely place full of nice pubs, cafes and shops and the cathedral. Would highly recommend this campsite! Thanks for a great holiday.

I have been camping for several decades and this is by far and away the best campsite I have ever stayed at. Fran and Richard are very welcoming. The site is beautiful and you feel as though you are getting right back to nature. It is a site for true campers. There are no campervans or caravans. Just tents on their own designated glades in amongst the dunes. We had a lovely week staying at this magical place. We stayed on Fulmar pitch. It has 10amp electric hook-up and is conveniently close to the showers and washing up facilities. When you are on the pitch you cannot see your neighbours, the loo or the showers etc. It is also great that cars are allowed to the pitch to set up/down only. The campfire are supplied with a cooking grate and there is a picnic bench which means you can leave the camping table and chairs at home! We will be returning next year!

We really loved this campsite! The pitches were private and spacious and perfect for the kids to run about safely on - like having a tent with your own private garden! We enjoyed campfires in the evenings which also had a grill for cooking (brilliant as we had no room to pack the bbq) The on-pitch composting toilet was brilliant - much better than I had expected - clean, comfortable and fresh smelling! The other facilities were immaculately clean and tidy. Lovely hot showers in very well designed cabins and a great indoor washing-up area with fridge, freezer and charging points. We had everything we needed on site and Fran and Richard were absolutely lovely and made sure that our stay was perfect. The surrounding area was also lovely. We spent several hot days on the beautiful Whitesands Beach (a short off-road walk) - a brilliant beach for sandcastles and surfing! We visited St Davids, climbed Carn Llidi for some amazing views, had an exciting 'wet and wild' boat trip with Venture Jets - where we saw seals close-up and also spent a very adventurous afternoon coasteering with TYF with the eldest child whilst the younger children enjoyed an interesting trip to the Bug Zoo! What a great holiday! We can't wait to return!!!
Nearby attractions

Blue flag and surfer friendly Whitesands Beach is just a 10-minute walk away, skirting around St Davids City Golf Course (07527 004015) to get there. You can take boards from the campsite and throw yourselves into the waves or simply enjoy a little sand castle building. Its 1½ miles into St Davids itself. Famed for being Britain’s smallest ‘city’, it is really little more than a village. But it’s one of the most characterful villages in the country and very much characterised by its celtic heritage, most obviously in the Welsh language, which you’ll probably hear being spoken in shops and bars hereabouts. Visit the cathedral (01437 720202), the bishop's palace(01443 336 000) and explore the many galleries – Oriel-Y-Felin (01437 720 386) is a particular favourite – or stick to the coast with a ramble along the renowned Pembrokeshire Coast Path.

Food and drink

The beach café offers a wide range of hot and cold food and is just a 10 minute stroll away. For everything else, St Davids is the place to go. It boasts many good Welsh pubs, including the Farmers Arms (01437 721666) and The Bishops (01437 720422) – both of which offer traditional pub fare. There are a handful of good restaurants in St Davids too, including The St Davids Gin & Kitchen (01437 720404). Slightly further afield The Shed (01348 831518) in Porthgain offers the best seafood.
