Idyllic rural estuary campsite located in seaside town of Newport Pembrokeshire, West Wales. Situated in an amazing location by the Newport estuary in Pembrokeshire, Carningli Campsite is family and pet friendly and offers an array of attractions just a short walk away fro the town centre, estuary and mountain trails, clifftop coastal path, and a beachside golf course. Whether you crave adventure or seek solace by the coast, this site has you covered. Set up your own tents or hire one of our Tipis. Prepare to be captivated by stunning views and over a 1OO species of different wildlife and birds. Hike to the summit of Carningli Mountain to see panoramic views of Newport bay and beyond to Dina's Head. Explore the tranquil woodland and stream below, accompanied by scenic walks along the estuary's edge. Maintaining its natural charm, the site boasts modest amenities to minimize its impact, including on-site parking, composting and portable toilets, fresh water and mountain stream shower. Environmental consciousness extends to a dedicated recyling rubbish collection point.

Guests can park by the entrance of the top field . A short walk through the 'secret gate' half way down the top field leads onto the estuary and coastal path that takes you to the more secluded bottom field. Within this field is a fresh water stream that feeds our 'eco shower' . There is also a compost toilet and still use of other facilities in top field All guests have plenty of pitch space around them. This field is more suitable for students and adults that like a more secluded and fun experience under the stars! The portaloo toilet and washing are situated also at the top of the field . The coastal path also takes you to the mouth of the estuary and across to the main beach and golf course. From the field entrance it is a 5 minute walk to the centre of the village for pubs, restaurants and shops.

Guests can park by the entrance at the top of the field . The tented area is in the same field just metres away on other side of fence . This means the camping area is car free and safe for children to run around as well as noise and pollution free. All guests have plenty of pitch space around them. The toilet and washing are situated also at the top of the field . Half way down the field there is a 'secret path' that leads onto the estuary and coastal path that takes you to the beach. From the field entrance it is a 5 minute walk to the centre of the village for pubs, restaurants and shops.

Our 5x5 metre large bell tent is situated in the top family field with a lovely view of the estuary. Comes with carpet, 1x queen bed mattress + 3 single mattress. Basic BBQ chairs and storage provided.

Comfy, back to basics spot

Bell Tent

The bell tent option was perfect for us to rock up and use as a base for a couple of days walking the Pembrokeshire coast - cheaper than an Airbnb, easier than setting up our own tent. The field is quiet and tucked away with basic facilities and super easy for pubs, beaches, buses and shops. We enjoyed the seclusion and a night by the fire before sleeping comfortably in the spacious tent whilst the rain hammered down. Would visit again.

Estuary Bottom Field

We had a great few nights in Pete’s field. He met us on arrival and showed us the options for our pitch and where to find the water tap, washing up facilities and fire pits. We opted for next to the stream in the bottom field, and our son as usual wasted no time, jumping straight in and exploring the wild life and snacking on blackberries from the hedgerow. The composting toilet was well maintained and the shower was cold but clean. We had great access to the estuary for paddle boarding and dog walking. The footpath that runs alongside the field was busy but not intrusive so we still felt we had a secluded spot. Great fish and chips from the Parrog further along the footpath, and a short stroll to the village for other supplies. We still opted for a trip into nearby Fishguard to get supplies in for our stay and to take on a few beaches further afield. We would definitely return again.

Estuary Bottom Field

I stayed with 9 others on the Bottom field and it was a great stop to camp. The facilities were basic but very clean and handy. The field was close to the local town (5 min walk) and on the other side was the estuary where we watched the sun set one night.
