Easy location to find and get to our campsite. Site 9 is right along the tree line and creek. Spacious and private.
Our camping experience was great but what made our trip so memorable was John and Elaine. Truly down to earth, incredible human beings. We left feeling genuinely blessed to have met them and made this connection. We will be back! Looking forward to the events Elaine is hosting at the vineyard next year!

I absolutely love this place. Its beautiful, secluded, and still only 10 minutes from town. The wine they make is delicious. And they also sell other bottles. The hosts were super kind and helpful. I highly recommend this hipcamp

Elaine and John were wonderful hosts. The campground was very clean, and there was plenty of firewood around. Bathroom facilities were more than adequate, and the wine was delightful. They showed me and my buddy a good time.

Elaine and her husband were such sweet souls! The property is so beautiful and is a great place to camp under the stars. There are mountains all around and the sunset and sunrises are gorgeous.

The site was as described on site. Elaine and John were very welcoming. A table of some sort would have been very useful, as I left mine at home. Overall great experience.

We loved tent camping here! Their land is so beautiful and peaceful with mountain and vineyard views. We also really enjoyed wine tasting with the owner. Bathrooms and a shower were great to have too.

SITE 9 Creek Side
My husband and I booked three nights here and stayed with our two small dogs. The trash from the previous camper had not been taken out before we arrived so we were unable to use the trash can and a couple of empty boxes were left behind too. The owners have a young lab that was loose on the property and while we were gone from the site one day the dog came over and knocked some things off the picnic table and ate our dog food. He came around quite a bit which was stressing out one of our who is protective of his food and peed on our tent at least once that we saw. The bathrooms were available 24/7 but the showers were inside the winery which was a little uncomfortable for us so we didn’t use it. The bathrooms were also pretty far from the campsite. The owners were very friendly and had firewood available for purchase which was nice.

The farm was nice, the well water was clean and easily accessible. The pavilion was a plus and kept us dry during our stay. The host is awesome and makes great wine, even if you don't like wine you'll like his wine. They have a chocolate lab that loves to play and did great with our dogs.

Valley River Vineyards was an amazing place to spend a weekend! Nice campsite, amazing wine, and wonderful hosts!
The location is nestled in the bottom of a valley, surrounded by densely wooded hills. When we arrived the hosts, Jon and Elaine were waiting for us and right away started the evening with a wine tasting. Their tasting portions were generous and they took us through the whole menu. They also encouraged us to play and "have fun" with the wine, and showed us several combinations such as adding cinnamon to the peach wine for "peach cobbler" or sugar in one of their reds for "Country Boy Blush." We really enjoyed the "Gambler" infused with pepper corn, and their Blackberry Wine is insanely good!
Stayed for two nights at site one. The campsite was well shaded but came with a gazebo that we put the tent under and a large fire pit. We'd brought some firewood with us but Jon was good enough to bring us a load of dry wood and used a torch to help us dry out and burn the wet wood already in the pit. Site one has views of the whole vineyard while still feeling private. They provided us wine glasses and a cork screw (Jon I'll bring back the corkscrew on the next visit).
The second night it poured rain for a few hours and we got to share a meal and a few more bottles of wine with Jon and Elaine in the clubhouse. Honestly already planning for the next trip back and have gone through their wine much faster than expected!

Everything went great. I camped for five days. Hosts were easy to contact and delivered. Nice spot. Shower was great. I appreciate the opportunity to camp there while taking a class nearby.

We absolutely loved our stay here for the weekend! The wine tasting is included with your camping reservation and they have some very tasty and unique wines. We couldn’t be happier with the hospitality throughout our stay and the views were great! This is a very small winery tucked into the mountains that may not seem like much but we consider it some of best camping we have experienced in western North Carolina. We are sad that the vines had to be removed this year but they told us they are replanting very soon. Consider this place if you want to feel like you’re camping in the mountains with friends you just haven’t met yet.

The campsite was beautiful! We had a tent up by the creek with a nice pavilion to use for cooking with a picnic table. Elaine has a wonderful piece of land. Her and her husband are the nicest people always ready to help. There were bathrooms available 24/7 and a shower room upon request with nice warm water. They also have a awesome barn with firepits and games too play if you want. They have the cutest puppy greeter too! Dog friendly campsites. We will definitely have to return again in the summertime with our kids when everything is in bloom.

We had a great time at the Vineyard even though it rained and unfortunately a burn nan was in effect. Hosts were very friendly and helpful in making our tent camping experience very enjoyable. Would highly recommend.

Camping on a vineyard is a unique experience and the hosts are very friendly. I recommend getting a bottle of their wine and their charcuterie tray to enjoy at your campsite. We had a nice and relaxing stay. Would definitely stay again.

I had a great time during my three-night stay at Elaine and John’s place. I’m a solo female traveler with a camper van and site #1 felt both private and safe. There’s a nice covered pavilion for meals, yoga and hanging a hammock. John was around, working on the property, most of the day. He gave me my space but was also happy to help with anything I needed. There is a clean, hot shower inside the wine shop/tasting room; John will need to let you in but he is proactive about making sure you have access. There’s a toilet/sink attached to the shop that is accessible 24/7. The shop/bathrooms are a 2-minute walk from the site; water spigot is just a few steps away. This site might get a bit soggy/slick with lots of rain so if your vehicle struggles with mud, let them know and they’ll find a good spot for you (or John can prob pull you out :)). The property is beautiful! I had working trainings during two of my days there, but on my day off I went for a long (road) bike ride right from my site, fished in the pond, did a quick wine tasting, and slept great.
