Coweeta Creek Campground

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Coweeta Creek Campground! Melissa was an exceptional host—friendly, welcoming, and genuinely committed to making sure we had a great experience. The campground was incredibly quiet and peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. We loved seeing deer wander through the property, the friendly chickens around the campground, and falling asleep to the soothing sound of the flowing creek right next to our campsite. Everything was spotless and exceptionally well maintained, from the campsites to the bathhouse and all of the other amenities. If you're looking for a beautiful, serene campground with outstanding hospitality and a true connection to nature, Coweeta Creek Campground is a hidden gem.

Perfect spot to get away from it all. Peaceful, quiet, and beautiful. Small stream by campsite provided soothing sounds and the chickens near the bath house were an added bonus. Flat terrain for easy treks around the property

Campsite was a good size - not packed in on one another. It was so relaxing getting up in the morning and listening to the creek. Saw lots of birds, and the chickens were very friendly and polite. Melissa was very helpful, responsive, and non intrusive. A perfect host. We highly recommend.

I loved tent camping on Melissa's land. She was very kind and welcoming. There was plenty of space in between sites which was nice. It's right on the creek and the water was nice to get into. There are neighbors on the other side of the creek but far enough that you don't notice. Oh and the farm fresh eggs are delicious!

What a fantastic experience! Melissa and her family have a private little jewel in Otto. Beautiful setting, wonderful farm, and just really nice people. The property is fantastic. Three wonderful RV sites, all of which have a great view, and a tent site, another equally good view. Plenty of room to pull into the property and back into your site. Full hookups were fantastic, everything worked as advertised. Incredibly private, quiet, and peaceful. I can't recommend this property enough if you are visiting Franklin, Sky Valley, or Clayton area.

Coweeta Creek campgournd was great! The site was right on the creek and my kids loved playing in it. The bathrooms were clean. Melissa was a great host, she let my kids help her feed the chicken, that was very nice of her.

Beautiful property right on a nice flowing creek. Open space for throwing frisbee, long driveway for kids to ride bikes, clean restroom/showers and a very private feel. Location is just about halfway between Clayton and Franklin so dinner options are close and lots to do in the area. We would highly recommend and will be back again .

One of our favorite campsites!

This is one of our favorite places to camp! This was our third or fourth time here. It is well maintained with clean bathrooms and hot showers. The creek is so peaceful to listen to while sleeping and sitting next to in the mornings. We will continue coming back!

We stayed here for 5 nights with our kids and dogs in our pop up camper and everyone loved it! The creek is amazing and great to explore--its not too fast and shallow enough to wade in. If you're visiting the area from out of town, it's very convenient to many local towns and attractions. We made frequent trips to Franklin, Clayton, and a number of waterfalls. In the evenings, the kids chased fireflies and we saw a lot of whitetail deer. Melissa and Adam were responsive and helpful. They have firewood, honey, and eggs for sale on site. Looking forward to a visit in the fall!

Second time around!

Second time at Coweeta Creek Campground! This time we had tents and a bunch of kinds ranging in ages from 1-8 years. The kids stayed busy exploring, fishing, biking, and playing in the big field; despite the rain. Melissa is a fabulous host, always available, and is a great reference for what the surrounding area has to offer. We will be back.

Excellent for large group with kids

This was an ideal campground for our group of 16 (8 adults, 8 kids). The setting was gorgeous, creek access was superb, and the bathhouse was clean and conveniently located. There was plenty of space to run around for group games, and the pond was a hit for the fisher-folk among us. The orchard and chickens really added to the charm, too. All in all it was a lovely, well maintained site that we all agreed we return to (even despite a very soggy weekend!). :)

It’s an absolute treat every time I get to stay at Coweeta Creek. I swear time stops here and it’s very relaxing. This is what camping and campgrounds were like in the 80’s and 90’s. Great eggs and honey as well!

Perfect little spot. The water is nice and cool and the sound is perfect for sleeping. Bathhouse is very clean and water pressure better than some hotels. It has that classic old farm feel and I wouldn’t change it 🥰

Great experience, easy to access, clean bathrooms - all conveniences you need. The babbling brook next to the site created a nice sound buffer for the neighboring camp site.

This place is as peaceful as it gets. Tons of privacy between sites and surrounded by mountains, a creek, and an old homestead feel. Melissa came by and was very kind and hospitable. I will definitely be back! Thanks again!

Loved this quiet peaceful place right on the creek. Loved the hike but ending needs to be marked better. Rooster definitely lets you know when it's morning time! Great place to camp!

What a peaceful little Valley tucked into the North Carolina mountains, and nestled up against Coweta Creek! Although there are four campsites available, our family occupied two and the rest remained unoccupied, making it very peaceful indeed! Adam and Melissa are very gracious hosts, making our stay even more pleasant. As a bonus, they gifted us with two dozen farm fresh eggs from their chickens! We would highly recommend this site as a great getaway!

My family had another AMAZING time camping at Coweeta Creek. It was cold but it was nice to have clean bathrooms with hot showers. We enjoyed the peaceful sounds of the creek while getting cozy next to the camp fire. We went to Winter Wonderland in downtown Franklin. We saw some pretty lights and enjoyed some warm cider while shopping in the local stores. This is still one of my Favorite places to camp!

My family and I stayed at campsite number one. The scenery is beautiful and the whole park is very clean and well laid out. We loved that there was a good amount of space and privacy between the sites. The creek is very soothing and beautiful. It was very convenient having seasoned firewood and fresh farm eggs available to purchase on site. The eggs were delicious and the chickens greet you every time you walk to the bathhouse. Speaking of the bath house it was very clean and the showers were nice and hot with plenty of water pressure. There is an ingles 11 minutes away to stock up on food. There is also a beautiful easy trail 6 minutes away called Tessentee bottomlands preserve. Adam was a very welcoming and attentive host. I would definitely suggest this campground for anyone looking to have a peaceful, private camping experience.
