Waymeet Homestead is such a wonderful place. The yurt was quaint and had everything you needed. Hanging out on the hammocks in the forest felt like being a kid again! The outdoor shower by the pond was a dream. We opted for the dog sitting option and it all worked out well, Willow was a sweet old gal. This place has so much to offer, you won’t regret it!
Very cool property! Especially loved the gathering space in the Forest. The swimming pond was not swimmable during our visit. This is by no means a private camping site. I planned a night away from home for a break from Momming, and the resident kids (same ages as mine, ha!) were hanging around our campsite much of the time. Would visit again with my kiddos!

Such a cool spot! Amazing space with tons of amenities. The yurt had a lot more to offer than the pictures suggest. A loft with two small beds perfect for kids, running water, wood burning stove although you don’t really need it all the time because of the mini split. Fun to be had around the property as well with visiting the yaks, the small pond and the treehouse.

We had an amazing time! Justin is very responsive, the people living on the property are really kind, and the grounds are gorgeous. Only beautiful souls can create something so wonderful. We will definitely be back!
Conveniently located campsite with some current construction projects seemingly underway. So cool to see the yaks! Cool that there is a pool but it’s SUPER slippery—definitely be very careful in and around it.

We love staying here, we tent camped and “glamped” and it was very quiet and peaceful. The ten was clean and cozy. And we love seeing the yaks! Definitely a great place to stay
This place was great! I failed to read the description, and the lack of bathrooms scared me pretty badly traveling with kids- but we were able to acquire a camp toilet and had no issues. Justin was very welcoming and I felt completely safe. I was traveling alone with two kiddos and they had an absolute blast seeing the animals and swimming in the natural pool while collecting frogs. I enjoyed the outdoor shower but did need help using it- which Justin quickly accommodated! Totally recommend staying here.
Awesome little spot. everything you need and so close to Ann Arbor . Me and my wife had a great anniversary trip . tucked back away just far enough but plenty of options and opportunities to do stuff. Enjoyed the little natural pool right next to the campsite and seeing the yaks. Justin was super responsive and helpfull

Beautiful spot just far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Justin was there to show us around when we pulled in, even brought over a table with chairs and let us use their firewood. The spot is tucked away enough that you feel like you have privacy while still having the option to walk around and say hi to the people and the animals. Great little gem, definitely on the list to return when we want a quick getaway without a long drive. Hosts are amazing!
We made a spontaneous decision to do a winter tent camping trip and immediately wanted to try this because the tent had a stove already. Jason was very gracious to accommodate us. We brought wood and blankets, but he also gave us extra blankets and started us with a pile of wood as well. He even setup an area heater to keep us warm while we got the stove up and running to heat the tent, which was very thoughtful. The stove heated the tent really nicely. We also had a great time exploring the grounds and meeting the Yaks. Overall it was a great experience and we will be back in the Spring to check out the other sites around the natural pool!

The space was lovely, quiet (besides the roosters lol but we didn't mind), and clean. It felt very tucked away even though it was so close to Ann Arbor. 10/10!

Nice relaxing spot. Enjoyed the surrounding trees and making use of the fire pit.
Awesome land! Sweeeeeet tent set up with a king size bed and a wood burning stove and did. I. Mention it was a farm? They had over 60 free range chickens and 5 yaks that we thoroughly enjoyed. I would highly recommend this if you're looking for a place to get away in Michigan. Close to Ann Arbor but far enough out to be country.
We felt so relaxed. This place is the place for kicking back. Tent set up was top notch. The yaks added a special feel to this magical land.
It was cute and quaint here. The tent spot was nice and flat which made setting up easy.
Such a fun campsite! We had a super comfortable tent with a bed. The host was welcoming and everyone was respectful. The yaks were so fun to watch. I will return.

Great hospitality. They didn't mind my early arrival. There were some bugs out there but the quality of the firewood provided is amazing and made a good smelling campfire, driving the insects away. The site is very secluded from the main property and is shaded round the clock.
I really loved the swimming pond which was right next to the site. The campsite is pretty private but do expect a little road noise here and there. Close to Ann Arbor or South Lyon. I would return.

Justin's property is so beautiful and inclusive -- I found the drive in and up to my site to be easy. It's great to be able to park right next to the site so that hauling gear takes little time. The tent is so clean and comfortable. I slept like a baby in the bed provided. I was surprised to find a plugged in extension cord with multiple outlets next to the bed, which is perfect for charging your phone or plugging in a fan. I got to meet two of the rescue yaks, Merry and Pippin. They were big sweethearts -- basically just great big kitty cats that nuzzled my hands and legs when I greeted them. Justin is very responsive to questions and does what he can to make you feel at home. I'm a solo female camper and felt totally comfortable being there. The site is not far from necessities should you need them. I recommend Edith's market.
Some things to know while planning your stay: Do keep in mind that this is a homestead where people come and go, though you are left alone in your own space if you want to be an introvert like me. You are also close enough to roads that you will hear traffic noise, which decreases during the night. Other campsites are not visible from your tent ...you do have a view of the main property across the road that leads into and through the homestead. These are important things to note for those looking for a more isolated site. I loved my stay and would love to return in the future. Visit the yaks!

I had a very nice time camping on this sweet little Farm with yaks. Who doesn't like Yaks? The owners were kind, introduced themselves and then left me to enjoy my little secluded spot on my own. I really liked how close you are to Ann Arbor, yet you don't feel close at all. The cell connection here was great. I found several parks with lakes and hikes within 30 miles including the Pinckney Recreation Area. This was a great value.
