Nomadic camping

Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.

Our property is 15 acres in beautiful south central Michigan, north of Jackson, and south of Lansing. It features an approximate 2 acre spring fed pond that does not have scum. It eventually flows into a creek that meanders through onsite wetlands into State of Michigan land. It is virgin land and exhibits many forms of wildlife: deer, turkey, rabbits, pheasants, fish, birds, and other. One day this will be our future dream home, but in the meantime we enjoy using it for getaways and peaceful surroundings. Activities include the following: We have kayaked on the pond, had campfires on the hill, hiked through the swamp, fished on the pond, and have had hunters in the fall. It's within a 30 minute drive of Lansing and Jackson which both have numerous activities and culture.

Within a 30 minute drive are the cities of Lansing and Jackson that have numerous activities and culture. A reminder that camping here is in the wild. We have a convenient paved driveway, but outside of that we like to keep things natural and beautiful on the property. There is a chance of encountering wild creatures, including but not limited to: deer, skunks, snakes, turkey, rabbits, fox, opossum, insects (mosquitoes, bees, ticks, etc.). Please come appropriately prepared.

We loved the stay.. firewood provided, peaceful, big open sky for star gazing at night, big flat area to camp on comfortably.. what more can you ask for. neighboring house to the property was super friendly and loved our dogs.

This place was perfect for our families first time camping. Pros: easy directions Beautiful scenery Grassy area Friendly neighbors Lots of hiking Great country roads for ATV Quiet and serene (most of the time) Cons: No fishing or swimming in the pond Neighbors came down to the site from the neighborhood Not much privacy because it sits right down from a public street. It was hard to find a place to use the bathroom because of the surrounding homes. Would definitely go back even though we didn’t see much wildlife it was still very beautiful there.

Loved tent camping here in the grassy area. Fire ring and minimal light pollution. Woke up to a deer walking by the tent then a flock of maybe 20 turkey. Took a little walk around the pond and trail. Property is well maintained and easy to find.

Beautiful piece of property. Plenty of firewood for us upon arrival. Easy in and out. Private. Closest Meijer is 8 miles away. Would stay again.

The property is very peaceful and the wildlife are all around. The fish were babies and they were all catfish. There needs to be campsite in the woods to help with shade and the grass around the pond could use some trimming. Overall, it was a great stay.
