It was a good experience with my family, if what you want is peace I recommend it, thanks Fernanwood.
You can tell from the moment you arrive at Alan’s campsite that he loves his land so very much and is eager to share it with his guests. From the immaculate campsite to the amazing manicured trails to the amenities - you will fall in love with this land, just the same way the host has. By far the best tent site I’ve stayed at on Hipcamp!

Me and my family loved the site, it’s secluded and offers a nice view of the stars with several well kept trails that go deep into the woods! The site and bathroom were both very clean and parking was not an issue! The owner is really friendly and refreshing to talk to even though we were sort of a last minute sign up. 100% recommend :]
Camping on Alan’s land was an absolute pleasure. I also had the honor of meeting Alan and his wife of 50 years Joan. Could not find a better host. I will be back, soon, Lord willing.

From the moment you first communicate with Alan you can tell he loves his land and is dedicated to sharing it with you and making sure you have a wonderful experience. I cannot wait until my next trip!

Alan's place is always a nice place to unwind and get recharged. Hiking from his location is almost limitless.
Perfect little spot to unwind with my pup! I set up my suv tent right near the fire pit and it was great. Plenty of firewood provided and a very clean bathroom! Alan helped out with any questions I had throughout my stay. I’ll be revisiting!

We loved camping here, it was only one night due to uncooperative weather, but this site it clean, well stocked with firewood, off the beaten path, and the epitome of relaxing. Alan responds quickly to any questions you may have, and has a site manager near by if anything is needed. The site itself has everything you need and that includes an insane amount of bird song surrounding you and the occasional call of a distant donkey haha. The camp offers solitude, peace, and quiet, what more could you ask for?
p.s. we had 4 bars of Verizon cell service.
And go to the Hampton General Store for great homemade food and to visit the store dog "Buddy."
My dog and I had a great 2-night stay at Fernwood! There was plenty of space on level ground, along with ample firewood and non-potable water for washing/rinsing, etc. We enjoyed hiking the trails nearby to Governors Island and visiting the Hampton General store during our stay! Make sure to give Buddy the dog some pats and enjoy some homemade treats from there as well! Alan is a great and friendly host and I plan to visit again soon!

We loved staying here! Secluded, quiet, beautiful trees and sweet stone fire pit. The owners are incredibly kind! We have a 20’ trailer and truck and backing in was a bit tricky with trees and rocks but worth it! Very level! We will come back!
Absolutely gorgeous and remote location! Dark enough to see the stars, quiet enough to count every cricket, frog, & owl lulling you to sleep. Didn't see or hear a single car or person the entire time we were there. There's also a beautiful nature reserve up the road that opens up deeper into the woods!
Alan's a very kind and thorough host, providing firewood, porto-potty, and water to wash up with. The property is very well-maintained, with moss & soil soft enough to walk bare-foot.

We had a wonderful stay on Alan’s land. The camp was well kept, with freshly laid wood chips. Alan’s stocked and wood and water was a big plus. The porta potty was immaculate. But most of all it was so quiet and private. That is until Abner, a neighborhood mule out of nowhere let out a crazy, unexpected bray which was actually pretty awesome; never heard anything like it.

Stayed labor day weekend with our dog. Nice quiet spot - off the road but still secluded enough. Site was large and includes fire-pit, picnic bench, and portapotty(clean with tp). 2 crates of firewood for 2 nights was plenty enough. There’s 2 state parks within a few min drive, I enjoyed natchuag more than Goodwin (the trails were too overgrown during this time). Overall a good experience- thank you Alan for the stay!
We stayed for five days, it was exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful property, nice quiet surroundings. Plenty of great fishing spots in town and neighboring towns. Can’t express how secluded it feels. Alan was great, very nice man and you can tell how much pride he takes in his land. If you’re looking to get away and unplug from everything I couldn’t suggest a better place to do it. Also make sure you get some coffee cake from the Hampton General Store only a few minutes away.

This was our first Hipcamp experience and let me tell you, we couldn't have picked a better one. When we got to what looked like a dirt cattle trail, we stopped and asked a farmer if he knew Allen. "I do." And would you know where Fernwood 2 is? "I do. Drive another 50 feet and turn right." What a beautiful little spot. The cleanest, nicest smelling portable john I have ever seen. We plan to come south again next year and Fernwood 2 will be on our itinerary. Allen and his wife were gracious and very friendly.

Another perfect camp at this site. It was very dry considering the heavy rain 3 nights before
Fernwood 2 is a beautiful site with accessible hiking trails and an open view of the sky above the fire pit - which was perfect for stargazing. We forgot our fold-up table, but the provided picnic table was more than perfect for our needs.
