Campsite was excellent, clean, with fire ring and picnic table. Noise from nearby road was acceptable for us, and compost toilet was clean although a bit of a walk. This is a relatively expensive option for tent camping, which is my reservation as far as recommending. The fact that nearby campers were partying at 1 am highlighted the cost: I can stay at a federal campsite for much less and take a chance on noisy neighbors.

We loved tent camping at Campfire! The location is beautiful and stunning. It was so nice to have the wagons to tote our stuff to and from camp. The river across the street is so serene and the host was so kind and helpful. It was close to CB so we were easily able to explore the area. The hosts provide firewood which is super nice, and they have any gear you could need for rent. Great stay! Would definitely come again!

We actually stayed in Site 14, and absolutely loved it! Great location, with trees, shade and privacy. Love this side of the campground as it's more spread out and further off the road. The whole team is awesome, and shout out to Sydney for the awesome pancakes on Sunday morning. We can't wait to come back!

The space was lovely. Even though it was fairly close to the road it still felt like we were very much in nature and to ourselves. The river was right across the road and you can hear it at night!

Absolutely love this campground! The sites are beautiful and the amenities are top notch. We were only about fifteen minutes from Crested Butte, right in a gorgeous canyon along the Taylor River. The camp host is amazing - they gave us welcome snacks, shower vouchers, and even helped get our gear to our tent site via a 4x4 and wheelbarrows. Free firewood stacked at each site, and a campground-wide pancake breakfast every Sunday morning! The bathroom was super clean, the water was delicious, and I can't wait to stay here again!

The stay is what I was hoping for - an opportunity to reconnect with the outdoors while being relatively close to Gunnison and Crested Butte.
The views at the site are gorgeous. There’s an easy hiking trail right there, too.
Since you can’t drive up to the site, there are wheelbarrows to tote your gear along with free firewood.
The grounds are clean and everything looks well taken care of. Although no running water in the toilet, it was clean.
Fresh drinking water is available from a hand-pump well and it is so good! (I live in Florida and we don’t have great water.).
The site is dog-friendly and my dog appreciated the hiking trail and chilling at our site.
I received a welcome beverage (choice of beer or lemonade) and a goody bag - nice touch and appreciated!
Although located next to the road, the campsites are far enough where traffic isn’t a noise issue, especially at night.
Clarifying - I didn’t stay in site 1 but in site 13 - the host communicated with me about the location.
I had a relaxing and peaceful stay.

The site was nice, but the price, relative to what we received, was too high. We won't be running back. It's double what we would have paid at another local campground wihtout the added benefit of parking near our site. We received about $5 in free firewood and $3 in free drinks and snacks. Doesn't add up.

Loved this place! Very convenient location. Host was awesome, very friendly and gave us great recommendations for hikes. I forgot my sleeping pad and was able to rent one from them as well. Highly recommend!!

My friends and I stayed here for two nights and had a fantastic time! Wyatt, the campground manager, was such a pleasure to be around and managed the campground very professionally. Free firewood is a game changer!

Five stars! Very nice campsite. Excellent hosts. The property is very clean and tidy and the hosts were friendly and attentive. Many amenities, from free unlimited firewood, spotless bathrooms, filtered well water, and knowledgeable help and assistance with any questions about area activities. We will definitely be back and highly recommend Campfire!

We loved camping at Campfire Ranch! Located inside the mountains and next to the river, the views are beautiful. It's also just a short 20 minute drive into Crested Butte. We even get complimentary drinks on arrival.
When all other campgrounds in the area are closed for the season or are full, and with hotels being so expensive, this was seriously so great to have found!

This is my favorite campground I have visited this year! They helped us out when our tent nearly blew away, and were so kind and helpful! Stayed at this campground twice this summer and I’ll be back again! The unlimited firewood is one of my favorite perks. You will not regret staying here.

Campfire Ranch was an excellent stay! The camp host (Wyatt) was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The Ranch provided so many great amenities (unlimited firewood, wheelbarrows to carry equipment, extra equipment, etc.) - it made our stay so easy and enjoyable. Highly recommend for a convenient and scenic location near CB!

This campsite was WONDERFUL! Very private while also having phone service was nice. The staff was AMAZING and had wonderful suggestions. I loved that they provided the firewood. It was already cut and they even provided some kindling. The site is very well maintained and they do have the best bathroom in the Valley! Will be back again!

This is the best camping spot in the state!
Gunnison, Crested Butte, Ouray and the other places to explore in this area are a hiker’s dream. Waterfalls, Rock Canyons, Rivers, you name it… This area has it! One could spend their entire life here and not scratch the surface of all the wonders this area has to offer.
However, what made our trip amazing was the site itself. Campfire Ranch is the right amount away to keep everything “wild” while located perfectly for any activity needed within town. You will not be left wanting with this location.
The best part of our stay was Campfire Ranch itself. As a camper, I always feel like I’m either in BLM land or an RV park. Campfire Ranch is the first place I’ve camped that I truly feel was MADE for tent folk. This business has fire wood (free), wheel barrels (free), fire starter (free), toilets (you guessed it, free), and seclusion. Sam (the owner), and his team are delightful people that take pride in what they are doing and it shows they really care. Stopping at the front desk will leave you in a 30-60 minute conversation with whomever is working it because you genuinely care about them and they you.
This is something special that you have to try. Mark my word, you’ll be a repeat camper at Campfire Ranch. See you there!

Campfire ranch is an amazing campsite with incredible service and convenient amenities. The campsite is located 5 minutes from Almont which has a restaurant and mercantile. It is also only ~15 minutes from Gunnison which is a very large town. Campfire ranch is an amazing place to camp, they provided us with free firewood, had a clean bathroom, running potable water and were in such a beautiful space. Campsites a close together, but the overall experience is incredible.

Wow! Campfire Ranch was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Keenan greeted us in the office and was so friendly and helpful - he got us set up with all the info we needed and gave us a welcome goody bag- such a great touch! We loved how the sites were laid out and the thoughtful design of the property. We had some noisy neighbors who were being loud well past midnight, and after messaging Sam if we could move sites, he was super helpful and accommodating. The property is also a perfect location halfway between Gunnison and CB, great for getting anywhere for excellent hiking, climbing, ATVing, you name it. We loved Campfire Ranch and we’ll be back!

Such a cool campsite and in the perfect location!! Great views and river access! Welcome drink and goody bag were such a nice touch! Tanner was such a great host, so friendly and helpful!! Only minor downfall - lots of dogs running around unleashed.

Place is legit. Tanner is a hell of a host. I can’t recommend this place enough. Great campsite. Wonderful accommodations. Super helpful. Free firewood. Drinking water on tap. Complementary beer and coffee. What else do you want?

We arrived after dark and Tanner was there to help us check in. He was very informative and helpful. We even got some welcome beers and a gift bag upon arrival which was a pleasant surprise. Unlimited firewood, fire starters and a wheelbarrow made for a quick and easy setup for our fire. Very clean bathrooms too! All around great experience!
