Coed Obry is a 5.5 acre private woodland on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. It has its own private gated access from the road and a 50m track leads from the A 4085 to a small car park for 5 vehicles. Paths lead from there to the caravan, bunkhouse, camping areas. There is a compost toilet block and sink (cold water tap) in the centre of the wood shared by all visitors. The notice board in the car park provides visitors with maps, photos and information about the wood, and there are laminated maps showing the routes of around 30 local walks which visitors are welcome to borrow during their stay. Canoe, kayaks and paddle boards are available to hire in Coed Obry and there are several fire pits with seasoned firewood for sale. There is no mains water so visitors are requested to bring their own drinking water, but rain water harvesting systems provide water for washing. Nearby there are several outstanding beaches within 1-3 miles and there is good access to the mountains of Snowdonia; the Afon Dwyryd provides an excellent sheltered river/estuary for canoeing and paddle boarding; the slate quarries and tourist attractions of Blaenau Ffestiniog, rock climbing at Tremadog (2 miles); spectacular waterfalls at Croesor (1 mile); the Ffestiniog Narrow Gauge Railway (0.5 miles); the Glaslyn Osprey Centre (1 mile); several shops, restaurants, hostelries and Spar shop in Penrhyndeudraeth (1 mile); three large supermarkets and a regional shopping centre in Porthmadog (2.5 miles).

One of the things people love about staying here is the amazing views - including watching the moon rise over the mountains. The developing Clwydian dark sky region means there are great views of the night sky and sometimes northern lights.
You may just want to hang out and relax but there’s lots to do too!
There are lovely local forest and waterside walks, neolithic burial sites, a stone circle, Osprey, butterfly and (if you are lucky) red squirrel watching, a secret waterfall and river swimming, easy and challenging off road cycling options, access to water sports. Or if you want to use a car to help get up higher the Clwydian and Berwyn Mountains and Eryri (Snowdon) National Park are all within a half an hour drive.
If history and mooching is your thing we are just 5 miles from Ruthin - one of the oldest existing Tudor towns - boasting an historic gaol, a craft centre with regular exhibitions and a castle with a spa and peacocks.
Denbigh with its stunning castle, Corwen, Llangollen, Llyn Tegid (Bala) and the North Wales Coast are easy to reach by car. There are also options for days out using public transport including taking a steam train. Please ask - they aren't all known to Google!
The nearby village has a community run pub and shop with the Glan Llyn tafan offering food by local gastro company Sorbus. In fact there are loads of great little villages near by each with their own character and points of interest including great cafes, walks, Punjabi pub food, historic churches and sacred wells.

Our beautiful home is a glamping and camping site with its own gorgeous fishing lake on the outskirts of the village of Llandyfan. You can find us to the west of the Brecon Beacons or Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.
Llandyfan Campsite has been lovingly re-established in early 2024 by Andy and Jo. Since taking ownership, we have rolled up our sleeves and got stuck into restoring it to its former glory and will soon be back to being a fully operational slice of Welsh heaven.
Our first focus has been the fishing lake which we opened in March. The campsite followed in May. We are currently working on electric hook ups and other improvements.
We have chickens on site that roam free during the day. They are friendly and like to wander around the tents to say hello to our guests!
We would like everyone who visits to have a great time and a relaxing break. Whilst here please be considerate towards others, to their property, and while using the facilities. If you have any concerns, please let us know.
We have brought out a few rules from our T&Cs and we kindly ask that you have a read through before your stay.
Litter:
You must pick up your litter. Please either take it with you or recycle it appropriately in the bins onsite. There are recycling bins on the campsite, it is your responsibility to recycle.
Pitches to be left as you found them.
Noise:
Be respectful and consider your neighbours. Keep noise to a minimum after 10pm and before 8am in the morning.
No loud music is to be played at any time.
Children:
Children must be supervised at all times around the campsite and can play within the pitch space allocated to you. At quiet times, it may be possible for children to use vacant pitches for play but this cannot be guaranteed. The amenity block and associated facilities are not to be used as a play area.
Dogs:
Must not to be left unattended.
Are to be kept on leads at all times whilst on the campsite. (We are working on an enclosed dog walking area, however this is not yet available).

I had a lovely stay at Maes Heddwch - the shepherd's hut is beautifully cosy, with everything you need and extras too, and I loved the views out over the fields and the surrounding countryside - including some very friendly sheep and cows. Seeing the full moon over the valley was amazing! Ruth was very welcoming and helpful and I would love to come back again. Thank you x

We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful cabin and honestly couldn’t recommend it enough! 🌿✨
It’s the perfect little escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and such a lovely place to switch off, slow down and feel completely connected to nature. The cabin itself was beautiful and cosy, and the outdoor bath overlooking the grounds was such a special touch. Sitting there listening to the owls and all the wildlife around us was so peaceful.
The star gazing was probably one of our favourite parts of the whole stay — I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever seen a sky so full of stars!
The couple who run the cabin were absolutely lovely and couldn’t have been more attentive or helpful. Even when we hadn’t received the manual (which, as it turns out, was sitting happily in my junk folder 🤣), they were so patient and helpful with everything we needed. They even kindly let us pick some apples from their apple tree, which was such a lovely little extra!
The wood fire was another gorgeous addition and made the cabin feel so cosy in the evenings. And the bed… honestly, I think that was the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a long time!
The neighbouring town was also a delight and had a lot of cute shops to browse!
It really is such a special place and the perfect retreat if you’re looking to escape, reconnect with nature and properly relax. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely recommend it. We’re already hoping to come back again in the future! 🤍🌿✨

We booked the bunkhouse for 3 of us for 3 nights, loads of space, comfy beds and great outdoor kitchen set up. Outdoor showers were lovely and warm and toilet, shower, washing up area was never too busy so it felt quiet, but there were always staff around if needed. We loved the fire pit area which was perfect for toasting marshmallows and star gazing. The location is perfect for exploring the Llyn peninsula, Porthor, Aberdaron, Abersoch, Llanbedrog and Porthdinllaen all within easy reach.

Everything about the place was great, the kids loved it, felt the most relaxed I've felt in months just walking around the site with my 13-year-old son. We had an amazing stay here for 2 nights with my wife. Before arriving, I realised I made a mistake and booked the wrong date — I was actually one day late. I explained everything to the owner and she was so kind, friendly, and understanding. She told us we could still stay the full 2 nights with no extra cost, which we really appreciated.
The place itself was beautiful, very comfortable, and extremely clean. On the second day we visited the farm and honestly it was one of the best parts of the trip — we enjoyed every single minute there.
Everything about this stay was peaceful and relaxing. We would definitely love to come back again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a lovely getaway.

Such a lovely place Megan and Benjamin have created! We loved the roundhouse, eating at the little table whilst seating on the floor. We liked it so much that we hardly went away. We used the oven to grill some burrito's and we made a bonfire outside to roast marshmellows and bake bread on a stick. We quickly got used to the compostable toilet.

Where to go
Llyn Peninsula
The Llyn Peninsula fans out from Pwllheli: a tranquil, green finger of land protruding 30 miles into the sea from the rest of North Wales. Many of North Wales’ best beaches are here, as is the good surfing at Abersoch and Porth Neigwl. Walking is wonderful too, with the Wales Coast Path skirting the shore. Excellent campsites are scattered across the Llyn: the mini-peninsula immediately beyond Aberdaron and the southwestern tip of the Llyn are especially good.
Morfa Harlech & Morfa Dyffryn
More superlative shoreline awaits just beyond the Llyn Peninsula on the east side of Tremadog Bay, headlined by Morfa Harlech NNR’s tremendous wildlife-rich dune systems and Morfa Dyffryn’s vast sands. A skyline featuring Snowdonia’s pointy summits, the Llyn’s sand-flanked coast and mighty, Unesco-listed Harlech Castle edges the miles of paradisiacal beach, making for a mesmerising place to pitch. Try tenting up on Shell Island, north of Morfa Dyffryn, one of Europe’s biggest campsites with 300 allocated acres of camping.
Snowdon & Around
Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) is among the UK’s most popular outdoor destinations—and Britain’s highest land south of the Scottish Highlands. Gateway village Llanberis, from where trails and a railway run up the peak, is 27 miles northeast of Pwllheli, though other paths lead onto Snowdon from Beddgelert, just 20 miles northeast. While Snowdon is busy, plot a hike away from it and you’ll discover glorious, less-frequented mountain country.
When to go
Like much of North Wales, Pwllheli is close enough to Snowdonia’s mountains to receive its fair share of awful weather. July and August are the warmest months; October through December is the wettest period. For campers and yachters, July brings the calmest weather of the year. Surfers will want to consider the months with big swells—November to April—although many campsites are only open in the April to September tourist season.
