Weekend Trip to Over-the-Moon Luxury Shepherds Hut

5 nights at Smugglers Cove Boatyard
I loved the Boy John. There was so much attention to detail in everything on board. Very comfortable bed and plenty of lighting. Also clear instructions around the site, regarding water, showers, toilets etc. All facilities very clean. Nothing compares to having your own little bit of coastline !!

We absolutely loved our stay here. Everything was set up and ready for us when we arrived, which made settling in so easy. The hammocks were such a relaxing touch, and having water and a fire kit provided really showed the thoughtfulness that went into the experience. The host was lovely—friendly but gave us complete space—so it truly felt like being out in the woods, surrounded only by the sounds of nature. It was peaceful, refreshing, and exactly what we were hoping for. We can’t wait to come back!

Our stay at Over the Moon was absolutely perfect. Ruth was super friendly and gave clear instructions on how to find them, and replied quickly to any questions. The location is beautiful and incredibly peaceful. The hut had everything we needed and the bed was huge and very comfortable. We can’t wait to come stay again!

Perfect isolated spot! Tranquil stream right next to the camp. Fire place with wood provided!
The whole place is idyllic and couldn’t be a better intro to wild hammock camping… No signal but you’ll find connection with nature and wildlife much more rewarding!
10/10 - We will be back! Loved it.

Lovely as always! This was my second visit to the Shepherds Hut, and it was just as great as my first visit.
The inside was cosy, tidy and firewood bundle was a great addition for the cooler summer nights!

We had a lovely stay at Little Ranch. Rod made us feel so welcome and our daughter loved exploring the farm and meeting the animals. The hut is beautifully designed being both spacious and and cosy, with everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay. The little extras on arrival really made it special. We enjoyed some nice walks along the canal, evenings toasting marshmallows by the fire and just really appreciated the peaceful location. We highly recommend Little Ranch and hope to be back again soon!

It was a really relaxing get away, the cabin is beautiful and well made. The canal view is really tranquil and calming.
The cabin is well equipped and the beds are lovely
The animals onsite were adorable. Lovely play area for the kids. A nice little place to escape to.

Have already recommended this place to friends. We had a lovely stay in the sunshine. The hut is has everything you need in a compact but unsquashy space. Enjoyed some fine walks and a super day out in Ruthin. We'd also recommend the Red Lion for a visit. Ruth & Jude were both very helpful and welcoming. I'm sure we'll come back.

I had a wonderful stay in this charming shepherd’s hut nestled in a peaceful meadow. The hut was beautifully equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable and cozy getaway. The surrounding area was lovely, with fruit to pick and plenty of space for the dogs, who absolutely loved it! The hosts were fabulous—friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommend this little gem for a relaxing countryside retreat.

Loved staying at Lizzie’s horsebox! The horsebox is situated on a beautiful, peaceful patch of land with lovely views. I had everything I needed for a base to explore the area and kick back and relax in the evening. Lovely stay, with comfortable bed too, will be back!
