The historic towns of Denbigh and Mold are only a 15 minute drive away as is Holywell and Flint . An ideal base to relax and unwind or if you wish to park up for the duration there is plenty of local walks from our gate to lakes and nature reserves in the area. On site you will have ensuite facilities in our luxurious Quarry Wagons with a covered outdoor veranda deck and an outdoor bath tub to relax and unwind under the dark skies. You will also have your own campfire and picnic area right outside and parking is provided adjacent to your unit . We have a secluded private hillside woodland with further areas to explore without even leaving the site . We are brand new for 2024 and will have 2 units onsite this year and plans in place for another 2 soon . In total we will have 4 camping pitches with direct connection for water , electric and lpg gas for all your heating cooking and bathing needs

Coed Obry is a 5.5 acre private woodland on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. It has its own private gated access from the road and a 50m track leads from the A 4085 to a small car park for 5 vehicles. Paths lead from there to the caravan, bunkhouse, camping areas. There is a compost toilet block and sink (cold water tap) in the centre of the wood shared by all visitors. The notice board in the car park provides visitors with maps, photos and information about the wood, and there are laminated maps showing the routes of around 30 local walks which visitors are welcome to borrow during their stay. Canoe, kayaks and paddle boards are available to hire in Coed Obry and there are several fire pits with seasoned firewood for sale. There is no mains water so visitors are requested to bring their own drinking water, but rain water harvesting systems provide water for washing. Nearby there are several outstanding beaches within 1-3 miles and there is good access to the mountains of Snowdonia; the Afon Dwyryd provides an excellent sheltered river/estuary for canoeing and paddle boarding; the slate quarries and tourist attractions of Blaenau Ffestiniog, rock climbing at Tremadog (2 miles); spectacular waterfalls at Croesor (1 mile); the Ffestiniog Narrow Gauge Railway (0.5 miles); the Glaslyn Osprey Centre (1 mile); several shops, restaurants, hostelries and Spar shop in Penrhyndeudraeth (1 mile); three large supermarkets and a regional shopping centre in Porthmadog (2.5 miles).

Our property is 0.3 miles down a secluded track surrounded by a mixture of farmland and woods. We've a quiet private woodland behind us which connects to the public footpath and follows the stream in the valley. To the south there is an open meadow with far reaching views to the Preseli Hills. Follow the footpaths down to the Teifi river where you can walk or canoe along the river and gorge walk to Cilgerran and Cardigan, taking in wildlife and history. The cabins are 6 miles from the stunning beaches and rugged coastal path of Ceredigion, a wealth of Neolithic sites, ancient woodland and contemporary Welsh culture in bustling Cardigan.
There's every comfort to make your stay a home from home; comfortable bedding, handmade and reclaimed furniture and a simple, well equipped kitchen. Highly insulated it's easy to heat with the wood burner. Outside there's your own private compost toilet and a gas powered shower.
We work from home on various creative projects and therapies and after an initial meet and greet we leave our guests in peace unless you need something. We use regenerative principles to guide us in enhancing Nature here, encouraging wildlife with the trees, flowers, herbs and fruits. If we're able to we often give little tours of the garden and workshop so do ask if your'e interested.

We had an excellent stay at the round house. The location is incredibly serene with gorgeous views. The building is beautiful and has been furnished with great attention to detail. The bed is really cosy, the hot shower is great and the cooking area is well equipped. Meg and Benjamin were very attentive hosts and we would warmly recommend a stay here.

We had a wonderful few nights. A great play to relax and loved the fact that it's so tucked away with so many walks straight out the door. A bonus was seeing the odd supersonic jet emerge at tree level at the end of the Mach Loop. Don't worry, these were a spectacle, not an irritation. Peace and serenity assured here and some wonderful beaches a short car ride away. Recommended!

We stayed in the Oak cabin. Both cabins are pretty identical. Absolutely fantastic stay with an amazing location and stunning views. Unfortunately we didn't have the best weather but that was ok because we had all the facilities we needed to cook, clean and relax.
Super easy access to nearby towns if wanting to venture off to find stuff to do.
The outdoor bath was a really nice touch as well. Felt so relived and stress free not having to think about the daily grind for a few nights.
Couldn't recommend Wildwood Quarry Retreat enough!!

With kids
Amazing lodges, our family had Kites Nest and Barn Owl Lodge and they were perfect for our group size, including a toddler and elderly woman! They were comfortable and gorgeous. Interiors and views were stunning, I couldn't believe the sunsets at night, the hot tubs were such a treat and both lodges had fantastic seating areas on the deck, we went on the steam railway and enjoyed a BBQ at the lodge. Would love to come back next year.

This place is extremely special. Very remote, beautiful and tranquil in natural and peaceful surroundings.
If you're an eco-friendly animal lover you will be at home here. I wish I could have stayed forever.
The round house is so pretty, very clean, very well thought out, has everything you need and is the perfect retreat. I will return 100%.
Compost toilet is clean and tidy, not smelly. The shower is warm with everything you need and even the toiletries are amazing.
Megan and Benjamin are super lovely humans. Always there to help if needed, very kind and considerate.
I would recommend a pair of Wellies as is a little walk from the parking area to the round house. Definitely worth it though 👌
Also it's a good drive 'up' so keep going you're not lost 😅

Weekend Trip to Dyfi Forest Retreats
We had such a gorgeous and relaxing stay at Dan's cabin. By choosing to visit at the end of January, we were a little nervous that we would be cold, but the fire kept us nice and toasty all weekend. Dan was friendly, relaxed and super helpful and he has provided everything you could need for your stay. The spot felt totally private, but equally knew that if we were stuck with anything we'd be able to get help quickly. Lovely to explore the beautiful surroundings and it's a decent but nice walk down to the local pub and back! We'll definitely be returning again.
