Tucked away on a quiet Somerset lane at the foot of the Mendip Hills, The Hemingway's Field is a fully private, fully fenced paddock available for exclusive hire — meaning the whole space is yours and yours alone. Wake up to birdsong with Bleadon Hill as your backdrop. Take the dogs straight out from the gate, the field is completely enclosed and secure. Watch the stars from a Somerset sky with almost no light pollution. Then head out in the morning to the beach at Weston-super-Mare (4 miles), up to Crook Peak for a ridge walk (3 miles), through Cheddar Gorge, or along the traffic-free Strawberry Line trail. Easy access for large caravans and vehicles. The gate has fit 7m caravans through it, but we have kept it at 6.5m (as it was a slight squeeze). Happy to talk about removing the gate for bigger vehicles. Water is available on site via a hosepipe. Please note that there are no toilet facilities, so guests need to be self-contained. This is a back-to-basics outdoor experience with one important luxury: privacy. No shared facilities. No campsite neighbours. No noise. Just your family or your group and five acres of quiet Somerset countryside. The field sits alongside two neighbouring paddocks occasionally used by local farmers, you may spot a friendly face or two, and sometimes a horse or two as well. If any animals are in residence during your stay, we'll give you a heads-up in advance. Guests are also welcome to explore our acre of woodland, which connects to the top paddocks, a lovely spot for an early morning wander and some cool exploring. Please also note: Grass is cut and grazed frequently; the photos here are after a while without, so the condition will be much better when the field is booked out. Our beautiful home is a glamping and camping site with its own gorgeous fishing lake on the outskirts of the village of Llandyfan. You can find us to the west of the Brecon Beacons or Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. Llandyfan Campsite has been lovingly re-established in early 2024 by Andy and Jo. Since taking ownership, we have rolled up our sleeves and got stuck into restoring it to its former glory and will soon be back to being a fully operational slice of Welsh heaven. Our first focus has been the fishing lake which we opened in March. The campsite followed in May. We are currently working on electric hook ups and other improvements. We have chickens on site that roam free during the day. They are friendly and like to wander around the tents to say hello to our guests! We would like everyone who visits to have a great time and a relaxing break. Whilst here please be considerate towards others, to their property, and while using the facilities. If you have any concerns, please let us know. We have brought out a few rules from our T&Cs and we kindly ask that you have a read through before your stay. Litter: You must pick up your litter. Please either take it with you or recycle it appropriately in the bins onsite. There are bins around the campsite, please recycle where possible. Pitches to be left as you found them. Noise: Be respectful and consider your neighbours. Keep noise to a minimum after 10pm and before 8am in the morning. No loud music is to be played at any time. Children: Children must be supervised at all times around the campsite and can play within the pitch space allocated to you. At quiet times, it may be possible for children to use vacant pitches for play but this cannot be guaranteed. The amenity block and associated facilities are not to be used as a play area. Dogs: Must not to be left unattended. Are to be kept on leads at all times whilst on the campsite. (We are working on an enclosed dog walking area, however this is not yet available). no refunds on bookings if cancelled withing 10days of booking

Panoramic sea views greet every patch of our working farm while CAMPFIRES and DOGS are actively encouraged. If the views bring you, it's the inclusive facilities that'll keep you. Two blocks contain 10 toilets, 7 unlimited hot showers (try these!), laundry, washing sinks, fridge/freezer & a microwave. There are also freshwater standpipes in each field and a chemical disposal point. However, sometimes a shower doesn't hack it. That's where our converted stone Barn Café comes in-complete with Wi-Fi & charging points. Open all day every day, 'The Barn' provides an oasis away from the elements, where you can enjoy everything from breakfast in the garden to dinner by the woodburner. If DIY campfire cooking is more your style, we also have a fully-stocked farm shop onsite providing all the essentials & much more too! Drinks? There's only one choice... a pint o' Caffyns cider. Homegrown on our 3000-tree strong orchard, located next to the campfields, our apples go from picking to pinting without leaving the farm. From sweet to scrumpy varieties there is no better way to try this land's fabled beverage than in our cider bar. For the adrenaline junkies, onsite horse riding allows you to sample Exmoor's scenery from the saddle. Catering to all experience levels, from beginner to advanced, our range of rides (1hr-3hrs) gives everyone the chance to explore with a discount given to those staying with us! Wandering through Caffyns acreage will introduce you to some of the other friendly farmyard 'locals'. Goats (Hint: Goat Cafe?!), alpacas, chickens, turkeys & sheep are all dotted throughout the farm on the way down to the South West Coast Path on our farm's perimeter. The nearest beach is a 20min walk away (Lee Bay) while Lynton & Lynmouth are 45mins.

David was a fabulous and friendly host. We had a lovely pitch and the site was just right for its proximity to Pen Y Fan which was one of the reasons we picked this site. The site was great for our dog who loved the water and freedom of having some off lead adventures. David is very easy going and as long as they're not a nuisance it's fine. We loved saying hello to George the horse and he had some little treats from us. Overall a great experience however if I were to be at all critical there's only one thing .. Another few campers arrived the following day and set up their tents right in front of the toilet area making it a little awkward for us as we then had to navigate around their camp to use it. The site instructions do ask politely for campers to keep the area around the toilet accessible... but I know not everyone follows those.. I think the toilet could do with a little bit of TLC as the door is a little worn out .. also it was a bit messy in there on our arrival so I did have to have a little tidy up Overall though a great little wild camping site where you can enjoy camp fires and the tranquility and listening to the sound of the water.. we would stay here again.

We had a wonderful weekend at Katherine’s place. The whole family made us feel so welcome and were incredibly friendly. It was a fantastic rewilding experience with beautiful open fields, a peaceful atmosphere, and thoughtful eco-friendly amenities. One night at Pytingwyn Woods wasnt enough. I originally selected David's site for its ability to handle hammocks without searching too hard for a suitable trees, plus George the resident horse was very friendly even to the 1yo we had with us. The river below our pitch was clear and easy to access if trout fishing is your thing or even cooling down after the hot weather we've had. David, while I never crossed paths for my stay, had left a message stating what to expect and the basics. Will most definitely be booking another stay for longer

We really loved this site. We were at the top of the hill with great views, close to Hay on Wye and able to walk down the the river for a paddle. The facilities were really clean and although it was quite full, they have done in such a way that there's lots of privacy.

We really enjoyed our stay at this campsite. The views were beautiful, the surroundings were peaceful, and the campsite itself was very spacious, so it never felt crowded There was also a nearby town, which made it easy to grab food and supplies when needed, and you could buy firewood on site, which was really convenient. The river running by the campsite was an added bonus and was perfect for our dog to cool down in after a hot day. T The toilets and showers were in good condition and kept very clean throughout our stay. The owner was out when we arrived, but she stopped by the following morning to check that everything was okay, which was a lovely touch. She was very friendly and welcoming. We'd happily stay here again and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing campsite.
