The Bryn is a pop-up site in the Mid Wales countryside, near the village of Howey, and about a 5 minute drive south of Llandrindod Wells. This is a no-frills site but one that's got the essentials in the form of portable toilets and clean drinking water (although please note there are no showers on site). Kids and dogs are welcome, as well as Duke of Edinburgh groups, and motorcyclists. Barbecues are allowed, with supplies for the grill or picnics easily found in the nearby town of Llandrindod Wells. The surrounding villages and towns also have plenty of places to eat out or go for a drink.
The site is set within a 7-acre field on a working farm, but provides a quiet and peaceful location with plenty of space to pitch your tent. There are views across the Ithon Valley, with the Cambrian Mountains in the distance. There is plenty of wildlife to be spotted in the countryside and on the nearby pond, as well as being a perfect location for some stargazing away from any light pollution.
There are a range of short, long, and circular walks in the local area, with trails like Glyndwr's Way, the Heart of Wales Line, and Offa's Dyke Path not too far away. The site is also in a perfect central location to the Elan Valley, Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), the Cambrian Mountains, and Hafren Forest.
And it's not all about walking, with plenty of other attractions and places to visit nearby. From watersports to cycling, horse-riding to alpaca walking, there is an abundance of things to do and see in the surrounding area. Examples of these include Lakeside Boathouse (Llandrindod Wells), National Cycle Museum (Llandrindod Wells), the Red Kite Feeding Station (Rhayader - 15 mins away), the Elan Valley Visitor Centre (25 mins away), Llangorse Multi Activity Centre (40 mins away), Bwlch Nant yr Arian (50 mins), plus many others.

This family-run camping field on our laid-back livestock farm is full of rustic charm. Pitch wherever feels right—tent or camper van. Dogs welcome but must always be kept on a lead and cleaned up after (dog waste bin on site, otherwise we are a leave no trace site and you should take your rubbish home with you).
This year, we’re introducing the “Missing Camper Trail” hidden in the woodland—can you find Colin? You’ll also find a new zip line and a slackline for adventurers big and small. Mud Café and den building are still here, along with teddy bears scattered through the woods—no official trail, just hidden friends to find.
Also new this season - a handcrafted washing-up area built by Farmer Ben from wood right off our farm.
Coming soon: We’re hoping for showers this season, but we’ll update when they’re up and running.

Enjoying easy access to an array of walks including stiperstones ridge walk, the hollies & poles coppice circular and the Gatten Valley circular walk. We are approximately 6 miles from the long mynd which offers a classic Shropshire hills scenery, featuring valleys, moorland and woodland.
If you're a mountain biker we are a 5 minutes bike ride to eastridge woods notorious for its diverse terrain and challenging trails.
We provide basic facilities on our family run site with friendly local knowledge and advice we can give. Children and dogs are welcome. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
Surrounded by several country pubs seeking a refreshing pint we are just 1 mile drive to the local pub with other takeaways and restaurants within a couple of miles. Including a local butchers and bakery in Pontesbury (Hignetts) as well as a Co-op.
If you love history and are looking to explore the local area we are close to Snailbeach Whitegrit Mine: Located in the immediate vicinity, Snailbeach is home to the most complete lead mining site in Britain. Guests can explore the remarkably preserved engine houses, the blacksmith`s shop, and the distinctive "Whitegrit" spoil heaps that characterize the valley`s skyline. Guests can opt for a 30 minute walk through the countryside or a 20 minute drive.
A 30 minute drive takes you to the medieval market town of Shrewsbury, famous for its timber-framed "black and white" buildings and steep, narrow passageways known as "shuts."
Shrewsbury Prison: A premier "dark tourism" attraction. This decommissioned Victorian jail offers immersive guided tours led by former officers, escape rooms, and a fascinating look into 200 years of penal history.
The Quarry Park & River Severn: Enjoy a walk through the 29-acre riverside park or take a boat trip on the Sabrina to see the town from the water.

If you want camping away from the crowd in a beautiful serene part of the world then this is for you. So quiet and peaceful. As a small site we had two other "neighbours" about 50 yards away so you really did feel like you were the only ones there.
Great facilities though quite rustic. Access road is narrow and would struggle with large camper or caravan.
Hosts were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. If you do stay then Lake Vyrnwy down the road is a must.,

We really loved this site. We were at the top of the hill with great views, close to Hay on Wye and able to walk down the the river for a paddle. The facilities were really clean and although it was quite full, they have done in such a way that there's lots of privacy.

Holy moly, I can't believe how stunning this place is and how cheap for the exclusive use! We absolutely loved our stay here, beauty & wild nature all around, no other annoying campers disturbing our peace, totally perfect. The compost loo was clean and had a lovely view like everywhere else at our spot. Plenty of pretty stony streams not far away to have a wash which I much prefer to showers any day! So quiet, not even the distant rumble of any roads, just lots of lovely birdsong, the breeze and the gentle fluttering of the many butterflies' wings in our meadow-with-a-view. Felt like a real privilege to be there. We'll definitely be back. Thanks Ryan & family for our wonderful weekend getaway ❤️😊

We really enjoyed our stay at this campsite. The views were beautiful, the surroundings were peaceful, and the campsite itself was very spacious, so it never felt crowded
There was also a nearby town, which made it easy to grab food and supplies when needed, and you could buy firewood on site, which was really convenient.
The river running by the campsite was an added bonus and was perfect for our dog to cool down in after a hot day. T
The toilets and showers were in good condition and kept very clean throughout our stay.
The owner was out when we arrived, but she stopped by the following morning to check that everything was okay, which was a lovely touch. She was very friendly and welcoming. We'd happily stay here again and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing campsite.

Large campsite. Great facilities. Signposting to the larger field could have been better as we didn't realise how big the site was when we arrived. Gorgeous walk into the town. If camping be aware that there is a rogue mouse who broke into our tent one night and then the neighbours the night after with a penchant for bread and porridge so make sure food is stored carefully. We would return.

Lovely hosts with a peaceful site, on our last morning our host made a lovely full English for us which was brilliant! Everything we needed they accommodated for (we forgot our gas tube and they let us borrow theirs too).

Where to go
Bewdley
Bewdley, hanging off Wyre Forest’s southeast corner, is the nearest community and a long-serving tourist destination on the River Severn. It’s well-known for its riverfront Georgian houses and iconic 1798 bridge designed by Thomas Telford. Several grand country house estates can also be seen while heading south to Stourport-on-Severn. To see the area’s natural beauty, the Severn’s best stretch for canoeing runs between Bridgnorth and Bewdley, and it’s an easy walk on pretty paths into Wyre Forest from town. Bewdley also boasts access to a number of family-friendly campsites and glamping sites.
Visitor Centre & the South Side
The main entrance into Wyre Forest is two miles west of Bewdley. This is the nexus of forest activity with a café, three way-marked walking trails, running trails, cycling routes, and bridleways alongside the visitor centre. The most interesting trail loops north around an arboretum, which hosts the unusual whitty pear among many other species. Camping awaits a short distance along the road from the main forest entrance toward Far Forest.
River Severn & the East Side
The eastern borderlands of the forest are framed by the River Severn, where the best stretch of kayaking on the UK’s longest river beckons, plus the long-distance Severn Way (east bank) and Geopark/North Worcestershire Ways (west bank). There are some excellent riverside campsites perfectly poised for forest forays as well—search for the best spots in the Bewdley area or near Pound Green.
Buttonoak, Earnwood Copse, and the North Side
Wyre Forest’s northern portion is less crowded, and forest-ensconced Buttonoak makes the best all-round base, with a pub and camping at nearby Pound Green. Just northwest of here, the car park at Earnwood Copse serves as a good launch point for hitting the woodsy trails. It’s also the north of the forest that has most of the NNR-designated and most ecologically important forest.
