The site is a unique woodland valley folded around a clear, spring-fed lake created from the old Tregildrans Quarry. Our tipis and tent pitches are dotted about this secret 20 acres full of ferns, bluebells, oak and meadowsweet.
Left in peace for many years there's been no modern chemicals or poisons on the land, meaning we've got bluebells, dormice, Red Admirals and shy woodland Jays for you to spot.
It’s a place set apart from the rush and clutter of the modern holiday experience, with an atmosphere that makes you forget the world outside, and just lounge, ramble, or potter about in a boat.
We're committed to giving you a genuinely individual service from first contact to your time staying with us.
We established CTH in 1996. This was the first and we believe still is the best tipi holiday site in the UK. We know our area inside out and can always help with local knowledge or contacts if you need them.
We want to offer our guests a sustainable holiday. A return to real camping means the lowest possible impact on the land and environment - our tipi poles don’t even break the surface of the earth. Your footprint while here could only be bettered by a survival expert. You don't have to fly! a major bonus, and we source all our wood, fish and canvas locally and work with local people wherever possible.

This site is a fast-track route back to nature five minutes’ drive from Saunton Sands and 15 minutes from Barnstaple. It's a place where the peace, sea breeze and sustainability mingle together to create a rural camping experience on a small eco-friendly farm.
If surfing ranks high on the list for your trip, you’ll be well set with the local swell on several sandy beaches within 20 minutes’ drive. And if walking or cycling is your favourite pursuit, you can head out over the sand dunes (a great setting for watching the sunset) or walk right onto the lengthy Tarka Trail for a self-guided cycling and walking tour over Devon’s cliffs and coves.
Friendly guests should find some good chat on site, as social and sensible souls can make use of the communal firepits (with wood available from the farm). And for when you feel like quality family time or gathering in a close-knit group, there are also portable fire troughs.
With no electricity, this off-grid site will take you nicely back to basics, with just simple facilities such as toilets, sinks and hot showers on site.
When you want to head into town, Braunton (five minutes’ drive) has several restaurants and a supermarket for food and a selection of pubs for a tipple. Surf shops, bike hire and guided nature walks with a local botanist are available too.

We weren't sure what to expect. We arrived on Saturday afternoon so was quite busy in the lower fields near the river. We were pleasantly surprised by the pizza truck, Polish food truck, and live music by a local singer which was very fun considering free entertainment, we met a lot of people just hanging out at picnic tables with our dog, friendly crowd. Glad to have our bikes to get around. We took our tall campervan into the orchard and found a lovely spot just a few minutes walk away from the river swimming hole, but nestled in the trees. Picked blackberries and apples for breakfast! My son enjoyed meeting other kids and playing on the hay bales dotted around the fields. Our dog loved the river to cool off in and we all loved the Polish food!
If we were travelling without kids, we would have followed advice from reception to drive up to one of the top fields to enjoy the solitude and views. There was also an "no mans land" which was for adults only near the river.
Showers were surprisingly hot!
Washing up stations and toilets as well as port'a' loos throughout campsite. Owners were laid back and welcoming. Not a fussy place. *There were several large electricity pylons running through the fields, but easy to avoid. Lots of well-behaved dogs off lead and other well-managed by owners. Saturday was a bit raucous, but from Sunday it went quiet and more what we were expecting. Great that this family choses to share their asset with the public so openly. Thank you again!

Everything was just brilliant, the team were really friendly, the camping area was very spacious, the showers were a fantastic size, none of that shower curtain sticking to you rubbish! The eco toilets were the poshest ones I’d ever seen and if you’re a cyclist there is a great bike shop to keep you on the road. The burger and the cider that I had were also amazing and really reasonably priced. Considering I booked it purely down to price and being vaguely where I wanted to be, I was amazed at the great value for money and would definitely book to stay here again!!

We had a beautiful stay at the Secret Spot. The owners were absolutely lovely and welcoming. Everything was very well thought out. They thought of every little thing you could wish for.
The gardens a were stunning! It was just so perfect all round.
Will definitely be back again, and that will be our go to camping spot for the foreseeable!! 😍

Great immersion in nature, the yurts all have a generous circle of privacy, edged by nature.
Our yurt was very cozy and comfortable.

Secret spot camping is a little gem and just what we love, plenty of space, clean facilities, friendly hosts and last but not least - beautiful gardens with plenty of little resting places to enjoy the wild life and pond.

Bush Farm was such a lovely, spacious, and welcoming site. From the moment we arrived everything was clearly sign posted and we were greeted straight away. The map provided was very helpful too!
The campsite is huge and gives such a range of spots- we chose a spot next to the river and it was gorg! We hope to return!
