Weston-super-Mare probably ranks as Somerset's best-known seaside resort. It's no surprise that most of the sights and attractions in Weston-super-Mare are clustered around the coast. Spend a day, or a week, on the beach during your Weston-super-Mare camping holiday and you can ride a donkey on the sands, enjoy theme park rides on the pier, and build sandcastles on the beach. There's also a SeaQuarium, adventure golf and a 40-metre ferris wheel among the amusements of the seafront. You can discover the roots of the resort with a trip to the Weston Museum and see the Victorian architecture by strolling along the prom. For a wilder walk, head south of town to Brean Down where a 1.5-mile headland juts out in to the Bristol Channel offering spectacular views, birdwatching and a special habitat for wildlife.

Inland, it's around 20 miles to the underground attractions at Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge and not much further to England's smallest city, Wells, with its disproportionately large cathedral. Alternative and quirky Bristol has plenty of attractions if you fancy a day in the city during your camping and Glamping Holiday and is well within an hour's drive.

With its promenade, seaside hotels and Grand Peir, Wester-super-Mare (or just 'Western') in Somerset has a bucket-and-spade atmosphere but still very much keeps up with the times. Our Yurt is set up in the trees giving you peaceful seclusion and a clear view across the sea to Wales and the mountains of the Brecon Beacons. A huge range of activities are possible or you can lie in the hammock with a good book. We have very friendly dogs and rescue chickens who may come and visit. Wild deer wander past in the early morning mist and the odd buzzard picks an argument with a bunch of crows but nothing much else should disturb you. We moved here after an 18 month search 8 years ago. It was close to everything we wanted and we've spent some time getting a bit closer.

This peaceful, sheltered site has a special character. The site is the ideal place to unwind with plenty of safe space, a meandering river and friendly atmosphere. It offers 4 acres with facilities, 7 acres of wilderness, shower block, level pitches, picturesque river, children’s playground and has been rated AA 4 star gold pennant. Becky and John both love Cornwall and fell in love with the site as soon as they saw it and it provided the perfect opportunity for a new challenge. Having only recently taken over at Willow Valley in the Summer of 2024, there are always ongoing improvements being made so make sure you keep in touch. Any returning campers will be glad to know we aren’t changing the campsite itself though. Why would we when it is already so perfect!

Very private, lovely place so quiet, facilities were great, Chris was amazing and went ab9ve and beyond for us. Even put gazebo up over the seating area as on arrival it was raining hard. Yurt was amazing bed was really comfortable. Hot tub was an added bonus and the Bluetooth speaker was a nice touch. our dogs absolutely love the grounds. Would highly recommend. And I think we will be back again one day.

Amazing stay with beautiful views. The tent is equipped with everything you need and beds are comfortable. The environment is very calm and pizza night really is a success, not only the pizza's are very nice but you get to know the other people staying - amazing if you have kids as they start playing together. We had an amazing time and would definitely return and recommend the stay.

This is a place to feel connected to the land and to completely let go of all the pressures of modern living. Jan is passionate about bio diversity and I loved walking up to the yurt, brushing past lavender and sage and wild flowers full of bees and butterflies, picking an apple on the way - and having it for breakfast whilst looking over a most glorious sunrise view from Buzzard Yurt. Then a walk in the woods and chilling in the hammock reading and soaking up the birdsong and the sound of the buzzard up above. At night - lying on the deck looking up at a starry sky and sitting round the fire toasting marshmallows. A truly relaxing and healing few days. Thank you Jan.

Wow, wow, wow. So we had a fantastic time at Kingfisher Yurt, relaxing under the Oak and Ash trees. Swimming pond was perfect. Yurt was really comfortable and the kitchen was fab for dining and playing games, We hired the hot tub, which was also lovely. Jan was a perfect host. We shall be back.

Had a really nice time at Rocombe Valley Retreat, Elliot was very welcoming on arrival, the bell tent was great and comfortable. The site was quiet and clean and they had a lot of essentials there ready to use in the shared kitchen, including a fridge/freezer to store food in. Wood fired hot tub was a nice treat to top it off.

We absolutly would recommend a stay in the Yurt, it had everything we needed for the perfect stay. The location is ideal for a quiet, reflective break in nature. Listening to the owls and nightjars calls from the woods of an evening was a particular highlight. If you need a detox from the hectic world to relax and restore its the perfect space to do so. The salad, steak and cheese hamper was amazing value, and the coffee and pancake stuff provided made us feel so welcome. Thanks Anna, i am sure we will be back again, Hayley, Andy & Greta doggo 🐶

Weekend Trip to Woodland Tipi & Yurt Holidays

We had a wonderful family weekend in Little Owl. The yurt was very comfortable and there was everything we could need nearby in the kitchen and toilet/shower block. We all enjoyed exploring the woods then relaxing in the hammock and roasting marshmallows over a campfire. We had two great day trips, canoeing on the Wye and hiring bikes in the Forest of Dean. Such a beautiful area, would definitely recommend!

We stayed at Rocombe Valley Retreat for 3 nights with 3 friends and wished we would have planned to stay longer! Rocombe Valley is a stunning farm, the yurt was comfortable and fully equipt, and Elliot was an amazing host who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Can only recommend!

David and Jasper went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care off. The campsite is near town, just a 20 minutes walk along the river. The facilities at the campsite are primitive, but adequate and clean. Loved the hot showers! We stayed in a yurt and that was very comfortable and very well equipped. Our kids (and the other kids at the campsite) spent most of the time in and around the tree with a swing, so nice! They called it the best campsite ever! Hope to come back one day!

We loved our stay at Buzzard Yurt! Jan was super friendly and helpful, and the kids loved the trampoline, the pond, the hot tub, feeding the chickens, picking the eggs and just everything the lovely campsite had to offer. It was such a good break from the bustle of city life and we cannot wait to return. The night skies were delightful with a sky full of stars and hardly any light pollution anywhere near us, and our days were filled with adventure and nature at the camp. Jan's campsite is conveniently located to lots of lovely sights - Beer, Seaton, Lyme Regis. A perfect break!

The Yurt in the Orchard is an exceptional place to get away from it all. Be prepared for silence ! The Yurt is comfortable, the shepherds hut has the essentials for food prep and the washing up station does the job. The shower is great and the loo is functional while being eco friendly. Be prepared to spend hours in the hot tub looking at the stars and the milky way. Had a great weekend.

Weekend Trip to Embrace The Space Glamping Yurts

The yurt was beautiful, it felt spacious inside. Care has been given to zoning the space to segregate children and adults sleeping areas. The garden area is incredibly generous outside with a large lawn area and a big decking area. Lovely bathroom with a delightful shower. The hot tub takes effort but was worth the time spent lighting the fire. Lovely outside play area which felt enclosed and safe.

This traditional British seaside resort is the place for camping and glamping in Somerset if you want sea, sand and all the fun of the fair as well as easy access to some of the county's most popular attractions. This town on the Bristol Channel saw business boom in Victorian times and it has a Grand Pier, bandstand and plenty of elegant buildings to prove it.
